  1. the only things she's even considered at this point has been neons, jetta's and a grand am or two. I don't want any where near a jetta
  2. But that's every day no matter the circumstances, amirite
  3. I'm sure we'll find something. Just need to find something reasonable and then see if the old ladt likes it or not, which is a job on its own lol
  4. I know how to adjust it. I've just always been told it's never needed on a throttle body vehicle no matter what's going on.
  5. Thankfully we're not in desperate need of one. We just want something different than a beat up 98 neon.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong but why would a throttle bodied vehicle ever need the idle adjusted? Wouldn't that be a band aid of sorts? I was under the impression you never have to adjust idle on a throttle body. Idle issues would be something else, sensor, etc.
  7. Trying to find a decent 4 door car for around $3k is a bitch right now. G/f found a few she likes but every one has been overpriced or has a shitload of miles http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2833585771.html For instance. This is a clean looking neon. Low miles, price isn't too bad from the looks of it even though $2500 would be nicer. Texted the guy and asked if there were any issues, etc. Says no issues and runs good. Few texts later he mentions a rebuilt title. $2900 lol I'd be all over it for $1500 or so with the rebuilt title.
  8. same here, especially since it's a ford
  9. just because you cleaned them doesn't mean they're in working order
  10. isn't that the same transmission as what's in say a 91 s10? I used ATF
  11. make a difference at all if you put it in 5th first, then reverse?
  12. and to help hold the edges in place clothes pins work great
  13. . recent customer or "friend" of the shop.
  14. I took one of those old fleece type throw blankets and rewrapped the one in my old s10. Looked great. I posted pics on here when I did it a couple of years ago. Never once fell down or anything.
  15. Well that wasn't it. Went out today to start tearing it down and right when I started I had to move a little hose and boom, dripping started. Turns out it was the little hose that runs from the tstat housing to the water pump inlet pipe. Didn't even have to remove anything lol. Just added a clamp. No leaks
  16. can't find the name of the tube but it appears it's just got a rubber seal on it? I'm pretty positive this is what is causing the leak. I hope so anyways. Here's a better pic but it's from a pt cruiser which is supposedly just about the same. http://www.hot-neon.com/gallery/albums/engineswap/normal_engine284.jpg Been seeing people calling it a water pump inlet tube and that they rust out pretty commonly. I can't find a part # or anything though
  17. alright guys I am pretty sure I found it today. On the front of the engine there's a metal tube that runs parallel with the block. the lower water hose and another small hose hooks up to it. It appears that the metal tube is what's leaking. Behind and underneath of it is soaked and it's running down onto the oil pan. found a pic online and circled the part in red. It seems it's running to the water pump but I really don't the pump itself is leaking? http://i.imgur.com/y1GhD.jpg
  18. scared to use the pressure thing just in case it makes it worse
  19. right now it's about half a gallon every week I think
