  1. LMAO. I thought it was a Fast & Furious thread! Maybe you had an issue with Vin looking at the ground too much or something. So on the actual topic, we do not ask or tell carfax lookups on the public forums now?

    Has the been posted recently?
  3. You'd either have to do it from an angle favorable to your style of bonnet, or remove it from the car for the exposed shot.
  4. I've pulled this car out of a hole with my station wagon before.
  5. Actually, it's today's date, and I'm sure that's why Doug posted the link to the public record.
  6. I have some of those. PM Sent
  7. +1 on Drewz2nr And don't get hung up on the number of cylindars or displacement BS so many buy into. Look at power output and efficiency. Weigh them to your liking and go from there. I've owned an embarasing amount of newer and older Fords and a few Subarus. Fords have always been a result of what appeared to be a good deal. And they have been in great shape when I got them, too. I cannot say I miss any of my Fords. Even my rusted out 1990 FWD Legacy L was a wonderful, solid car. Yes, I said Solidand rusted in the same sentance about my Subaru. The Mazda 6 really is a great car, too. I've heard good things about the Fusion and Milan, but nothing terribly special even if they are the same platform. Goodluck in your search! I know you'll love the Legacy if you go with that one. The deals are out there.
  8. One thing I haven't seen anyone post about on here as far as needs for the track is a helmet. Most tracks, do require a current SA2000+ rated helmet. This means no Motorcycle helmets, though if a Nelson Ledges day is the way to go, you may ignore the motorcycle part, just a Snell rated helmet is all you need... Also, as far as convertibles go, you must have a functional roll bar. Driving with the top up is not proper roll-over protection. Here are the general rules for Nelson Ledges, as displayed on their website in addition to preparing rules and such that if you're serious on going, it's worth your time to read through a couple times before you register: ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED. Absolutely no aggression/road rage is tolerated. One warning is given then you will be asked to leave the property. Track time will be between 20-25 minutes per session. This is for your safety. A helmet is required. (Snell approved motorcycle is OK) All open cars and convertibles must have a roll bar, reinforced factory rollover protection; similar to a Porsche Boxter or BMW M3. Proper attire is required. This is defined as sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes and long pants. NO shorts, tank or halter- tops, sandals or open-toed shoes are allowed; shoulders, legs and feet must be covered. Again, this is for your safety. We do allow a passenger, over the age of 18 and helmeted, in the car with you. There is a Drivers Meeting prior to the beginning of the FunDay. This is important, so please attend. For your safety, it is important to listen and comply with track personnel. Please check your car thoroughly prior to going on the track or have a mechanic do so prior to coming to the track. Check brakes, brake line, hoses, cooling system, tires, power steering system etc. Under track conditions, belts and hoses do break, so do not take a chance on missing the day with a broken part. All participants must be over 18 yrs old, carry a valid driver’s license, and have current auto insurance. We reserve the right to refuse service. I think I made it to all of one open lapping day last year, I need to fix that this year, so I will probably be found at Mid-Ohio at least once, as well as Nelson Ledges and hopefully a couple other tracks. Like some others here, this will be on top of a fully planed season of Autocross and Rallycross with a couple other races and track days in between....My girlfriend's gonna wish it was winter time again...and she HATES winter!
  9. I don't get why they closed when the snow was letting up and the plows had things clear.
  10. Nothing modded about my last couple daily drivers... Always want something like shocks or springs etc, but never find the justification anymore. Damnit, I must be getting old!

    Oct 21st Rallycross

I'll be there in the Impreza Outback. Also, as the autocross was mentioned, I'll be there as well in the MX-5. I did a WOR rallycross event a couple weeks ago in the Escort and finished...how did Pete put it? "first non-white Golf running rally tires in Stock FWD" Even in that automatic Escort, I had a blast and only got a Subaru because of the utility aspect of it for my new job. Hope to see lots of ppl out there.
  12. I've been on http://www.nasioc.com/ lately as I just got another Subaru. Though, not specifically for racing. Anyway, http://www.nasioc.com/ seems to be a good site. I'll be checking out http://www.centralohiosubarus.com as well now that I know it's there, too. local = groovy
  13. That and other idiotic remarks I read in that interview are now actual reasons I feel that I have to not care to ever set foot on a GM lot. Until now, I didn't actually believe that those in charge of GM were stupid, it was just a preference of mine not to buy giant cheap cars that don't get proper fuel efficiency. Like others have said already, what's wrong with 4 and 6 cylindar RWD cars? Mid-sized cars are great, too. They don't have to be giant "full-sized" cars. Hell, by today's standards, the mid-sized cars are yesterday's full sizes and todays compacts were yesterday's mid-sized vehicles.
  14. I have a Cyber-blue Headset brand new in the package, unopened. $25 sound good?
  15. Nice ride. Makes me think about looking for another FB now....
  16. Yeah, it's lighter than the Couger, but not a light car by my book. Suppose it's a matter of oppinion and year, even. For it's day, I still wouldn't consider it a light car. I don't drive the Miata in the winter unless I'm working on the beater for a day, or something big breaks, but when I bought it, my legacy had just been 'totaled' by that dickless piece of shit, hit-run muther....well, we all know how we feel about that type...but anyway, the MX-5 was then my only running car for a couple months and was on balding summer tires, but did just fine in the snow. You cannot gun it or take a corner like you can in the dry, but it handles just fine in the snow, just don't be dumb. Ice is another story, but that's true no matter what car you're in.
  17. Light weight cars are fine (and even quite fun) in the snow, as are all cars with the right tires. Ford Probe: not a light car. Though, the best two handling cars I've had in the snow were my 1989 Mazda 626 w/Goodyear Integrity tires (all season) and my 1990 Subaru legacy FWD w/Integrity tires as well. They would drive where I wanted them, and when I pull the hand brake, both would do just what I wanted them to. Of coures, if you pay $4000 for either of those cars, that's a bit much, so you might not be looking for something this old... Biggest things I've found to be advantagous in my winter driving expiriences is the tires and having a manuel tranny. To hell with autotragics. Both cars were phenominal delivery vehicles as well, as I was delivering Pizza full time back then. Very affordable maintenance and reliable. 25+MPG.
  18. damn. I almost wanna pay you to keep it and track it some. I think I've seen you at one autocross event. If I somehow get rid of .....4 or more of the cars I have....and you still have this....I'll let you know. Good luck on the sale, I'm not a fan of these cars, but this one could turn me.
  19. I know why it was posted here, but honestly, I see it as a legitimate challenge. I don't see anything I'd consider flaming going on, either... (yet ).
  20. By the time Joe's car's ready, and he's comfortable enough on a road course, Eli's car will be faster on the strip, too. 3/3 for Eli. Beaverun or Gingerman Raceway are prolly the safest two road courses around. About 3-4 hour drive, I believe to Beaverun and about 6 hours to Gingerman. Beaverun, last I knew, required instructer time for safety reasons. They will show you howto drive the course safely, and the fastest way around the track. You must be able to show them you can safely drive solo before they'll sign you off to drive on your own. Check it out, Joe. I'd really like to see this race happen. And why is this thead in the Kitchen???
  21. I hope the SOB's families do try to sue him and lose, costing them the court fees and attorney fees as well.
  22. Cool points for ppl who bring whatever the hell they feel like driving out! Including POS Oldsmobiles! I am last place in CS currently, but I'm still having a blast.
  23. Goodyear in Powel will do a good job and should give you a 4-wheel alignment for $45. Just tell them you're with Columbus Racing. They still do that for me, but I used to work there, last I knew, Kyle and Jake were still extending that offer to certain groups like this.
  24. I have a Cap for a compact pickup for sale. It's aluminum, painted dark blue currently. I used to have it on my 92 Ranger standard bed, but it would hang about 3 inches off the end of the bed. It's in good shape and has blue dome lights with wiring to connect to the cargo light. I'm looking for $75 for this and I'm located in Columbus, closer to the North end. Feel free to ask any questions or PM me if you'd like to check it out. Thanks Miles
