Regardless of anyone's opinion of this matter, what is being done boils down to debt collection. It matters not to whom the debt is owed, anyone collecting a debt is obligated to do so under the regulations put in place by the federal government, 15 USC 1692. Pataskala must follow these laws. From what I have read, it appears they are not. That is unacceptable. Police departments and the court system are NOT above the law.

Dan if it's like my Kenwood it doesn't have a cage like to older units, you need an installation kit for your car. Once again, if it's like mine, it charges the iPod or iPhone whenever the head unit is on. If mine is off, even if the car is on, it won't charge.

If the tech crew made a reasonable effort to ensure the car was safe, even if they did not catch everything, then they should win the suit. If they didn't, it's neglect on their part that could have led to a preventable accident. Pretty simple.

If your own insurance pays out you always pay your deductible. When (if) they get it back, they'll send you a check. My ins (Progressive) was very aggressive to an uninsured motorist and got a portion of our deductible back even though she wasn't insured. We didn't expect it.

We were married in IL, she moved back, has lived there past the statute. We're 100% legit. In IL if we come up with an agreement, the courts can/will approve it. Not so here in OH.
