I am diving into replacing the chipped spider gears on a 2015 2dr with a Dana 44 LSD with roughly 50k on the existing assembly (dealer replaced back in 18 for same issue). I am going to change the entire assembly out instead of just the spider gears themselves. This also replaces the aging clutch plates anyway. This is the first time doing this so I am looking for pointers and gotchas. I bought an entire new assembly from Jeep and the dealer did not add extra shims. Do I need extra or will the stock shims suffice? How hard is getting the gear back on at 135 ftp torque while holding the unit (advice??). I am not finding much online either in terms of a write up or a good video (shitty Google fu perhaps). If anyone knows of a good one please let me know. All I have been finding are discussions about upgrading to lockers and bigger gear sets. Sure I would love to do it, but 500 for replacement and bruised knuckles or 4K after gears/lockers/labor (on a Dana 30 no less…). Replacement sounds easier. I am diving into this with: Gear marking compound Oil/gasket Press for the bearings into the diff assembly Magnetic base dial for backlash Dial gauge to measure Am I missing anything??

HA! I thought I would be able to do it myself. I think I just needed the validation. Chassis arrived right after I posted this and it doesn't look all that crazy (no glass bedding required). I think I will sit down and have at it. I will post pics for shits n giggles once I get it on.

Hey All - I am looking for a GOOD shop/person who can swap chassis on a LR rifle. I have a Tikka T3X CTR and just bought a new chassis (KRG Bravo) and I want to swap them out. I could do it myself...I think. I am not sure if I want to attempt to do so or if there is someone locally that is great at doing a good swap. Suggestions? Places like LEPD or Black Wing?

Looking for recommendations on a person/company that does powder coating for my Jk door hinges, torx screws, and inner hinges (2dr). As with everyone else, the plague has finally taken over and I have oxidation under the paint. I wanted to get them powder coated and permanently solve the issue. Anyone with experience on their jeeps? Did you have to replace the hinge sets or were you able to sand them down to where they didn't look bad? Anything to watch out for?

As the title says. I have an LAR 8 Elite Operator .308 semi auto rifle with a Vortex Viper VPR-M-06BDC 6.5-20x50 scope on a Vortex quick release mount. Very nice glass and I have never had to readjust zero. This rifle is truly awesome. I have roughly 300 rounds through it. I have kept all brass that I have fired through this in case you want to reload. Most brass is Lake City. I have 80 rounds (all Lake City) of unfired ammo, 2 x 20 rounds mags, Magpul sling, quick detach bi-pod, hard case for the rifle, bore snake, and a Magpul BUIS. Everything listed exceeds 2700.00. The 31 was one of the best purchases I have made. Had it for years and the relief is great. The glass can't be beat and has never lost zero. I am constantly swapping scopes on the AR and I have never had to adjust. I really like the 33 also, but I am partial to the 31. I have a few thousand rounds through it and it is just awesome. They get bright so I suggest putting black electric tape over the tritium strip to dim the reticle (same with 33 or any other Triji). Mine is the green and I LOVE it over the red. I was issued red in the corps and glady switched to green. Again...dim it out a bit with elec tape. A purchase that you will not regret.

I have a sign that says spoiled rotten pitbulls live here. They usually walk away before they get to the door. Helps to have one bark in the window, but they seriously just walk about halfway up the driveway and then turn around.

I don't mind driving. Any points would be great. I just bought it a few months ago and dying to get out.
