  1. Once I has bigger ones. Mine are high impedance just so you know.
  2. My 440's can't hold up any longer and I need something bigger (that's what she said). I need 4 of them, and nothing over 900cc.
  3. Of course it's obvious. Hardly ever will you find a time when the interstate is completely naked, but this was right after the game was over. This traffic was in no manner "light." I was just stating that creating such a scene right off the exit where people, especially police, know there is a group of people with the known initiative to race doesn't help the matter any, especially with moderate traffic.
  4. I went there, didn't see anyone, went inside and ate, came out and left. I don't recall exactly when i left, but I follow a silver SRT4, red Mustang (Fox body? I know nothing except Saturn bodies), and some other cars. Twice on my way home they slowed down super slow on a quite populated interstate and held up traffic. One driver coming up on the racers put their brakes on very hard and swirved at me and I went off to the shoulder to avoid getting hit. I'm definately not one to sit here and rat people out/point fingers, but damnit don't make it so obvious what you are doing, especially with a ton of traffic. With someone reporting something like that right off the Polaris exit, it's quite obvious as to where the racers came from.
  5. Copy the link to your address bar.
  6. I use 2.25" aluminized steel from Jegs for my IC piping. I would rather go welding the steel instead of having to use couplers. Then again, I don't have the tools to weld aluminum.
  7. Have they just given up on trying to do that? It's been a while since I've seen cones out there. I'm willing to help with segregation as long as someone else helps me do it as well.
  8. It's fun when everyone would put a bunch of tables together and we actually get to sit down and talk a bit. It's getting colder though so less are wanting to come out.
  9. Yup. I ate and left. Did anyone else see the guy in the Explorer or something of the type take off with another guy hanging on the outside of the vehicle? They were probably going about 15mph or so and the guy fell off onto the blacktop. The QS&L crew went to dial 911 as they thought the other guys ran over his leg, but he ended up walking it off. Idiots.
  10. Bringing back Kid Rock. Oh yeah.
  11. I am using the AEM UEGO. It works well, but sometimes it's funky and will change calibrations on me. For example, here is a 1st to 3rd run I just made. You can see that half way through 3rd the car goes from 11.6:1 all the way to 17:1+. When it changes calibration, it changes the output to my standalone. So instead of the 2V it should have been reading from, the calibration might have changed to lambda or something and will make it read wrong is my datalog. I think this is what you were asking about when you mentioned "boost curve". In first gear I can make about 8.5psi. The rest of the log was about 10psi. If I'm driving it hard to be racing, I just don't let off the pedal between shifts and retard the ignition to -5* to keep a load on the engine so the boost pressure remains the same when I enter the next gear. I was also at 24* advance through the whole RPM band. No knock yet (knock on plastic). http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_140c426b.png
  12. Hold that thought. I'm saving up for a Walbro fuel pump since the stock one is maxed out. After I get that pump I'll be looking into getting some good tires.
  13. It's sleeper enough other than the IC and being lowered. Stock 15" steelies with awesome stock wheel covers. As for 1/4 time, I have no idea. A friend of mine has a turbo setup similar to mine. His exhaust was smaller, IC piping was smaller, same turbo, 6psi, and used the SAFC2 for tuning. He pulled a 13.56 @ 106 on 6psi. That was also OBD2 where it pulls timing back so bad under boost that you have more power at partial throttle under atmospheric pressure than you do under boost. Like I said, I run 10 - 12psi daily. I do not have the tires to launch which is why I've yet to take it to the track. I've practiced launching, but I don't catch traction until about 50 - 60mph. That's another reason why I don't race from a dig. I'll start at no less than 50 for a race.
  14. I'll do it. I don't watch football so count me in to your 10 car count.
  15. The only real trouble I had with the MS was when I installed a diode when I shouldn't have and accidentally reversed my RPM input and spark out wires around. Other than that it works awesome. The fuel economy is good if I drive the car normal. Otherwise I can go through a tank of gas in no time.
  16. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_70efc7bd.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_032e8516.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_deb21b67.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_2e6bea47.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_e8ea5787.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_2adf8075.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_fbb025fd.jpg
  17. It's nothing special, but a bit different from the usual. Some people have been asking about what's been done to the car so here it is if I can remember everything. The car has been turbo for a little over 2 years. I can't remember when I actually started on the setup. Of course, when I first started, I was using a TE04H and got far enough to bolt the turbo up to the manifold until I told myself it would be a waste. I saved up and did a bit of research and pieced this together myself. Everything here was all done by me (designing, fabricating, welding, tuning, etc). Engine Saturn 1.9L DOHC 200k+ miles 200psi+ across the board 2 intake cams (replaced the exhaust cam with an additional intake cam for more lift and duration) Exhaust KKK K26#8 turbo (.75 hot/.53 cold) Log manifold with 1.5" ID piping Pierburg wastegate with 9psi spring 2.5" downpipe to Moroso Spiral Flow muffler to side-exit Intake 2.25" ID intercooler piping 2.5" x 6" x 36" intercooler 1g DSM blow-off valve Engine Control MegaSquirt with MSnS-E firmware 42lb/hr injectors OBD2 to OBD1 ignition swap for spark control I can't think of anything else really. I took off all my intercooler piping today and welded beads around the end of them so they wouldn't keep blowing off. Along with the cheap setup comes downfalls when actually buying non-cheap parts. I don't remember how much I spent from ATP Turbo on flex couplers, but I only get good results when using the sweet Home Depot rubber couplers. It's been running on this engine for a year and a half now. My previous engine was a 99 which had pistons with a very thin top ring land. I melted right through that at 3psi. Now I have a 97 engine with 200k+ on it and it runs great. The oil pan leaks, but that's about it. It's currently set for 12psi and I drive it almost every day. I've never taken it to the track because I don't have enough money for good tires. It's never been dyno'd either. Now that I fixed my spark issue and issue with my pipes blowing off, I'm going to try and get it in this week to see how much I can get on a stock engine. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_fc8fa905.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_2aaf3124.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_ad2d40a1.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_389b2be5.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_02c95d59.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_420534f8.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/tristanlee85/th_95360205.jpg
  18. The only issue you are going to have is it's going to be reading only a consistant voltage back to the ECU instead of a changing voltage like it should be.
  19. And I blew my IC pipe off leaving QS&L for the 6th time today. Crappy cheap cars.
  20. I had the car up on the jackstands earlier with the engine running and in 3rd gear. It makes the noise even with no load of the car's weight. I'm going to replace the front wheel bearings tomorrow to see if the problem is resolved. It keeps getting worse and worse, but I'll drive it until the wheels just fall off.
  21. Hal, I'll talk to you tonight at QS&L and take you for a ride, then you can tell me what you think is broke.
