  1. Yeah I knew about the TXV, but figured I wouldn't even go into it lol. Basically what happened is the compressor burned out? It had a leak in the unit somewhere, and fried the electrical stuff. Does that sound right? He tried to charge it, but it wasn't holding a charge, and that's when he found the other stuff out. Do you sell units too? Mine is a 3 ton R-22.
  2. FML. Air conditioner in the house just broke. No 1911 for me right now. Lol.
  3. Got the answers. Can't mix/match the A coil and compressor. Either all R-22 or 410a. If you use a compressor too big for the house, it will get down to the t-stat temp setting too quickly, and not dehumidify the air. Wet air leads to mold etc.
  4. I had a guy that Sam recommended come over and troubleshoot my a/c sytem because it stopped blowing cold. Basically, the compressor is bad and it won't hold a charge. So I need a new one. I just had my A coil replaced last year when I had the furnace replaced lol. If I have to get a new compressor, I'd really rather not replace a year old A coil. My question is, if you have an A coil that's rated for R-22, will it work on a 410a compressor? Or does the coil have to match the compressor in terms of refrigerant? The sticker on the bad condenser is R-22. I'm asking because I found a really good deal on a 2.5ton R-22 compressor and wanted to make sure I can use it, and don't need to upgrade to a 410a unit. Also, what's the downside to using a 2.5ton if you only need a 2ton compressor? My house is 1800-1900sq. ft., so I'd really need a 2.5ton anyways, I would assume.
  5. That's what I keep hearing! A Kimber fan I work with got the G.I. Expert and loves it! All the reviews have said its the best gun for the money. I saw 2 Springfield Loaded 1911's on Armslist, and oddly enough, both were wanting a smaller CCW gun. Just so happens I have an M&P 9C, LE version. Going to get with one of them and talk about how much cash on top. Only problem is, I'm not a huge fan of stainless guns. Meh. Oh well. We'll see.
  6. Am I the only one realizing their sixty's are really good? Or is everyone else here running sixty foot's comparable to theirs? The slowest one on that list is a 1.56 sixty, and he's near the middle ET-wise!
  7. Being a Security Forces member at Rickenbacker, I can tell you you CANNOT leave your gun with a guard at the front gate. Nor would I want to! Lol. The policy is that you are supposed to declare it coming on the installation, then they arrange transport straight to the armory for safekeeping. They do ease up on that some, but like said above, the threat condition is increased right now, which means stricter guidelines. You're technically not supposed to bring firearms on the base anyways. Same goes for DSCC and all federal property. Firearms/weapons are not permitted on federal ground, to include all state buildings (courthouses, etc.).
  8. Looking to get into the 1911 game. Anyone have one for sale? I don't really mind what length or brand, just not looking to get a super knockoff brand. If you're interested in trades, I have a Smith & Wesson M&P 9C, the Law Enforcement version. Comes with 3 mags, 2 with the extra pinky extension and one regular mag. The LE version has the magazine disconnect, so it will not fire if the magazine is not inserted. Also has Trijicon night sights, and only about 200 rounds thru the gun.
  9. I see what you did there. :lolguy:
  10. Only n00bs do a burnout IN the water box. :bangbang:
  11. Boils down to this: As illustrated in the above videos, if you're a dousche without a "driving" mancard, yes, your 5.0 will get stuck on a 1% incline. If you know how to drive, you will be fine (read: know what pedaling is, know the feel of the car and when it's spinning/sliding, don't try to corner in the snow like you would on dry pavement). Basically, just buy it and see what happens in the snow. The worst thing you'll have to do is spend $200 on a Civic that will get you anywhere you need to go in the snow.
  12. Firewall basically means some sheet metal surrounding the cell itself. Exactly what Crawdad did. I have a fuel level sender in mine. You can buy cells with them pre-installed. It's just a big ohm meter basically. Find the two wires used on your stock wiring for the fuel level sender, and attach them to the two nipples on the sender on the cell. If your cell is full, and your gauge is reading empty, switch the wires on the sender. Foam helps sloshing/fuel starvation during launching or cornering. $13-14 per 18x6x3" section at JEGS.
  13. Is it happening? If so, I'll be there!
  14. Any interest in a Beretta 96 f? .40, 5 holsters, 2 or 3 mags, plus the nice internal laser, tri-tone.
  15. Did anyone else hear the chicken at 0:48 or 0:49?? :gabe:
  16. Anyone want to go somewhere on Friday night? Marion for T&T?
  17. Is their tech set up like National Trails or Marion? Lol.
  18. FYI, I just switched my clutch fluid to the Wilwood 570 Hi-Temp racing brake fluid and I can shift fast now at high rpms and no clutch problems!!! Apparently they make some good fluid. Lol. So you might try getting some of that Phil. All I did was flush the whole clutch line with the new stuff (I ran about a quart and a half thru to be safe), and no more problems.
  19. It's federal property. Rules/laws totally change on federal property.
