I have the armstrong groutable squares in the entry way of the shop. Very easy to use, actually look nice and the adhesive was much better than I was expecting. -

What exactly is the current height of the floor areas? Are the currently even, and if so are you planning on transitioning from carpet to tile? It is certainly possible to place tile directly to a wooden subfloor, has been done for years and is still the prefered method by alot of professionals. One rule when doing this is to change out the wooden subfloor with exterior grade plywood instead of interior grade which is probably whats down now. Ideally you would want to put 2 layers down, one screwed to the joists and the second screwed to the first but not the joints. This doesnt necessarily make sense if your trying to save height. You certainly can and I have put floor tiles directly to one single layer of plywood. Using backerboard or cement board isnt a guaranteed failsafe for tiles becoming loose or broken they do make it less likely however tile has been around and used on floors far longer than they have been around. I say if the height bugs you bad and your hellbent on tile then cut out the subfloor from wall to wall and replace that area with exterior grade stuff, prep the floor and add tiles(I wouldnt get crazy expensive stuff) finish the bath and leave it. If after a few months/years you notice the floors are having issue its not that difficult to remove baseboards, bust up some tile, unscrew the plywood and put something else down. If you dont want to risk it then check out the new plastic tiles they have at the stores, I personally think they look great and have been very pleased with them over at the shop. They can be placed edge to edge or even grouted in between to appear as ceramic. They are self stick, the adhesion is great and the tiles are very thick just like a floor tile. They come in many colors. Stop by the shop if you want to see some in place. -

Remove all layers of subfloor and shave down floor joists. Its a slow process and one you want to take your time with but it may be your only option if you definately want to lower the transition height. -
If your talking about the truck, thanks but its not what I am looking for. I dont typically buy vehicles based on condition, its typically all price for me. I believe this is the quattro and I am looking to trade even up. Thanks

I think the powers that be have done a damn good job at turning "Hate" into big business. In turn by giving certain people something to hate(America) those that seek out power, influence and wealth tend to benefit. I think most hate us because they are taught to or told to and really have no real issue or idea other than what they are shown. I dont know to many people here that have the time, energy or willingness to devote to hating an entire group of people. Imagine how many jobs/business' would end if all this hate just went away. With unemployment at an all-time high what would the numbers be with all the people we have devoted to homeland security and defense suddenly added to the mix.

This car is my sons who never really was all that fond of it since he received it as a 16th birthday present. Looking to trade it for a small suv like an escape, maybe a v6 99+ mustang or ?. The car is not perfect and not looking for one in return. I bought this off Andy's(audion18s) boss in 2011 in very good shape, one minor rust spot on drivers door. My son has since put a few scratches on it. The front drivers seat has a seam that needs sewn back together or insert replaced and I accidentally snapped the center console cover hinge off but it is there and sits in place just fine, just the one side of the hinge is no longer attached. Other than that the interior looks good and the leather is really in great shape. This has the 2.8 engine that has given us no problems other than needing a new camchain tensioner I hope to order this weekend and have installed next week. I have maintenance records from the previous owner and a long list of things that had been done before I purchased it I believe all from the dealership. S4 rims that have some minor scratches. Sunroof, all leather interior I believe is considered camel in color. New windshield the day I bought it. 5speed tranny. Overall a good car needs a little work but not bad. Since I have to post a price $4500 but I would really rather trade. I wont trade for a small tiny car or something that has no real appeal to a 17 year old. I will listen to all trades and if its something I am interested in I may trade and do some swapping with my suv with him. I will try to post better pics up soon but for now here is what it looked like the day I bought it in August of 2011. I believe the mileage is in the 230k range but it does run great as far as I can tell and with all the maintenance and service work that has been done it doesnt show. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/254732_263942640300703_3096942_n.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/305683_263942706967363_5103590_n.jpg

If someone buys me this you will have a best friend for life. Not a regular best friend but the kind you can call at 3am to help dispose of a body best friend.Hell maybe even the "I always wondered what it would feel like" best friend. I will sing your praises daily or never say a word about it your call. -
What is commission nowadays? Glad it worked out, there was a 99% chance it would never have worked out.

Seen the brand when we bought ours, I just couldnt bring myself to get one I had never heard of. Did you check the discount shelf of display models for sale at both bestbuy and walmart. Greats deals on those sometimes.

My wife has one now. She has to state it was not her driving and then have that notarized and then sent in. I am not sure if they can legally go after the accused driver.

Detailers question about leather
wnaplay1647545503 replied to wnaplay1647545503's topic in Passing Lane
I was wanting to tackle my own seats and possibly a truck if I get it. The seats in the truck are bad and I absolutely hate the shiny hard look. Am I correct in thinking it is caused by poor care and the wrong product? -

Detailers question about leather
wnaplay1647545503 replied to wnaplay1647545503's topic in Passing Lane
Ryan, yes, thats exactly what I was looking for. Thanks -
I often see cars with leather seats that appear to be very shiny and basically seem like they would crack if folded over. I assume this is from years of owners applying cheap protective products that has eventually just built up. Is there a way to fix this or has the leather just been exposed to the wrong product for to long? I have leather seats in my daily and except for the drivers seat they all still seem fairly soft and dont appear that bad. I have never used anything but a damp cloth to wipe mine down. While on this subject my drivers seat is showing cracks and appears to be wearing quickly especially where I slide in and out. I have seen some articles over the years of reconditioning them with product and plastic bags covering them but is there an easy user friendly way of doing this or better left to a professional? Thanks
