LAst year mine did it due to a clogged filter. It appeared clean and wasnt that old. I completely thawed it out and it worked luckily. My dads just did the same this week but his was low on coolant.
Browning it looks like theres a used 2001 tank on craigslist for $70, if its fits maybe the cheapest/easiest fix. States it has protective coating, could be just another bad one.
Yeah like Brian said, it could be easy or hard repair depending on whats wrong. I know Alex on here has a friend who repairs them as I have had him fix mine. If its a compressor issue 99% of everyone will say just buy new.
