  1. I'll pass on that one. . . if I get a new block I'm gonna go all out on it. The stock 68 307 rates at 200hp. Thanks tho man!
  2. I'm still up in the air about the 307. It's kinda cool cause it's originality and a great motor for cruising without sucking in too much gas. Really the clean-up and upgrade process wasn't a huge deal. . I can take everything off the 307 and put on a 350 block, so this will probably happen once car is garaged over the winter. We'll see how she does next week when everything is put back in.
  3. Sooo, a few weeks ago I bought a 68 nova off a guy on here (byhi) and a couple days later the project began. It's a stock 307 (had a guy swear it was a 350 (even after we pulled it), but after running the casting numbers it is confirmed to be the stock 307...i cried a little, but whatever...it's just a cruiser). The car was covered in primer and heavily bondo'd in the quarters. But after sanding and sanding on it . . . the quarters are straight and salvageable. . atleast for now. I will probably replace then next year just to have a completely rock solid car though. The frame is incredible on this car and the underbody only needed minor repair. Right now it's all sanded down and straight/smooth as an arrow. We pulled the motor out and freshened it up with a chevy orange paint job, some vintage mickey thompson valve covers, a holley systemax kit and holley 4bbl 650 carb. Going on the car will be a 2" cowl hood . . and it's getting painted iroc red with black racing stripes. Here's some progress pics. . . should be done within a week or so and ready for the road! When I got her: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c256/byhi/100_0748_00.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c256/byhi/100_0752_00.jpg And now the progress. . . car is all sanded and ready for paint. . . jams are painted and engine bay and sidewalls are painted http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/15/l_e7f27bcf957d44d88cd2272ca99daae4.jpg http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/29/l_e4065a6fd30f4c37a52a4fdba5ccfda8.jpg http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/104/l_efbf63e5308e430d883c0d0265f08347.jpg http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/79/l_026eb9d5c7b5400ca8434e6b09b947d7.jpg And the engine, looking all sexy in chevy orange: http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/58/l_160daff47e934587bf7010dd0e5c5c96.jpg http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/22/l_9e1dd7c3a96b4a9fa1a69133a4edfd22.jpg
  4. well good news on that. . the branded 307 in my nova turned out to be a 350 after running the numbers. So I'm probably just gonna deal with the PG until it blows out. It's really just a street cruiser anyway. :bangbang:
  5. This may be a shot in the dark, but does anyone have a used b&m for a powerglide? I'm wanting one soon. . so will probably end up just going to Jegs. . but if you have one and reply by tomorrow, I'll probably take it off your hands. Thanks!
  6. I just realized you originally posted this stuff almost 2 years ago. You try posting on CL?? Good luck with the sales!
  7. Your inbox is full ;) Clear it out!
  8. So should I go with a 400 or something to keep the PG? I'm not opposed to changing out the tranny.
  9. I'd like to hit around the 350HP range and keep the 2 speed PG tranny.
  10. I have an XXL helmet i bought to ride dirt bikes with and never even put it on. . . if I can find it in my garage you can have it for 20. I'm not sure if it's dot approved, but it's heavily padded and I believe it to be.
  11. Wanting to get a complete 350 setup for the 68 nova. Decided to go ahead and focus on some more power with it. Would really like a complete and running setup, but would settle for a solid block too. Lemme know if you have anything! Can't seem to find any good deals on CL. Thanks! -Bill
  12. Beautiful. I got my inspiration from this here
  13. I take it your not interested in the motor build?
  14. Well the 307 is strong in her, so I'm gonna focus on body, then balls later
  15. Actually I've owned it almost a year now. Just looking for something different. It's a cherry truck. I've babied it for the past year, and it shows.
  16. Edit: Wife talked me out of it. I really wanted to get something a little more fuel efficient. . but I almost have the truck paid off and it's honestly the most comfortable vehicle I've ever driven (i'm 6'4" 300 lbs). . . so I'll probably just keep it until it rusts out and falls apart. Thanks for all the inquiries though on her!
