We need more donors in general. I have to ask every single one of my patients, during their admission assessment, if they are an organ donor. I would bet 85-90% are not, which I find surprising. Prior to jumping into the medical field, I had this assumption that most people were donors. The canned response I always get is, "I'm too old/fat/busted/broke. Nobody would want my organs." That's simply not true.
