Last month, I got word that the Yokohama tires on my wife's CR-V were completely shot. Since I had good luck with Tire Discounters on getting a set of snows for the ST, and he became a recent customer of mine, I knew Andrew (aka lilstarner) would be a great source for help and advice. I told him where I wanted to be and he gave me several options. I asked a bunch of questions that he took the time to answer. A week later, I've got a set of brand new tires, an alignment, free balance and rotations for the life of the tires for not a lot of cash. Plus I got to help out a fellow CR member. After a quick look on AutoTrader, you can for GTI money, but not Mazda money. MS3s are going for cheap online it seems.

For your needs, I'd lean towards the VW. I loved selling them and when I had one to test for a week when I was writing, I enjoyed the hell out of it. Also add the ST to your list. Same solid feel, little more exciting look and feel to it compared to the GTI without being too outlandish.

She can get her own plan through any of the insurance companies. I have my own plan through Anthem since it's $68/month cheaper than what my company offers.

I love Untappd. My buddy got me onto it when we were going around Seattle to different breweries this summer. I'm naborgia on there if anyone wants to add me. I was over there Tuesday night. The cars listed in your first post are all forced induction and AWD, then you post the ATS with the biggest motor and AWD. Sounds like you wanted something more performance-oriented. My suggestion was related to your portrayed interest, and that's why I linked you that SHO. Get a solid, comfortable cruiser with some balls, it's a CPO and you save $5000-10000 over the other options.

I'll take the yellow one. I'm still not 100% on the looks (have to get it in the right color), but from everything I've heard about the performance, I can overlook it's appearance.
