Since the reason you're doing it is for your future and not because you're some bum trying to sponge off her, I say move back home. There's nothing wrong with it. My brother did it when he move from Manhattan back to Pittsburgh and it helped him out a lot, and not just for financial reasons either.

I remember the valve tick in my 98 Grand Am. In the cold, holy hell was it loud! And that engine's been around since, what, 1999? You expect them to fix it, right? Ha! GM makes some decent vehicles. You just have to find them. The Malibu, the G8, Acadia/Enclave, Tahoe/Yukon and CTS are all good to great vehicles. Everything else in their line blows.

Welcome. My buddy's got an orange and black one. He just put a built engine in it over the winter since his last one put a rod through the block. Just got it tuned and I think he said it's putting down 250whp at 8lbs. of boost.
