  1. Bearing is in and the car is fine. Thanks everyone for your help!
  2. Thanks guys! I'll PM you if something in town dosen't pan-out.
  3. Thanks allot Mike. I do actually have a CarQuest and a Napa right in town. I'll give them a call tomorrow. I'll PM you if I can't work something out, again thanks for the offer!
  4. you could start it up and see which ones get hot.....
  5. Hello everyone. My brother-in-law has a '98 Saturn SL1 with a bad front wheel bearing. I'm a pretty apt mechanic and should have no trouble tearing it down and pulling the knuckle, but I don't have the tools/equipment to service the knuckle and press in and out the new hub/bearing assembly. The car is really bad and the bearing needs to be replaced this weekend. Is there anyone who could do the press work on Saturday, or maybe Sunday in the late morning/early afternoon. I could just bring the knuckle and the new parts to you, and my brother-in-law should be able to compensate you for your time and effort. I really need to line something up ASAP. Goodyear wants $500 plus the alignment and I don't think the car is even worth $500, but he can't loose his way to and from work. Thanks in advance! BTW I live in Delaware, so the closer the better, but beggars can't be choosers!
  6. It's a good idea to prefill your oil filter after changes if you can, depends on the orientation. That way the oil is going to the important places (bearings, turbo, ETC...) and not hung up filling the filter
  7. I have allways loved cars. Muscle cars and the '80 pony cars were my first passion, but when power and efficency became important to me I started looking at imports. That being said I can appreciate pretty much anything that is done well, but I'll never undestand the whole super swampers and 12" of lift stuff. Thorne, did you just use Volvo and sporty in the same post??!?
  8. 9t1GVR4 never replied to my PM DSM OBSESSION: how much $ ?
  9. 1fast5gp: thanks but $100 is out if my price range right now. heelside: does that have a flange to weld to the intake? Is it a recirulating capable valve? 9t1GVR4: how much?
  10. I know this is an old thread, but do you still have the BOV? It is from/for a 1st gen DSM, right?
  11. Sweet, I really do appreciate you helping me out. The fact that you would go out of your way for a guy you've never met says allot about your character. Is it cool if I pick it up from you at your work tomorrow? I can probably come on my lunch, and could be there around 4:15-4:30. Thanks again!
  12. The Delaware JVS has classes at their south location, on 23 south of 315.
  13. It's not on the car, it is 3" aluminized steel, and I cut the wrong pipe . I just need someone to run a bead and make my two pipes one again. I have to do a water pump on my Dad's car, but I would love to get it done tomorrow (Sunday 2/24) afternoon or early evening. I'm in Delaware, can someone help me out? Thanks in advance, Russell :burn:
  14. The Mustang SFC are too short for the T-Bird, which has a 4" longer wheelbase. I don't think the the through-the-floor style will be necessary, because this car is my DD, with an occasional trip to the drag strip; I just know it doesn't take much to twist up these cars. Would you also be able to stiffen up the torque boxes as well? Thanks. BTW I am looking at these: http://40bob.com/?loc=shop&cat=3 or maybe these: http://www.stinger-performance.com/suspensionparts.html
  15. I'm not doubting anybody, appearntly I don't know, that is why I'm leaving to a professional. Gearhead - I haven't bought any yet, but I know that Mustand SFC are too short. The car is not undercoated, and the undercarrige is in awesome shape, with minimal rust. I don't think rust will be an issue during the install. Any suggestions as to who to buy them from? I have read online it is a straight shot and rectanular tubing is fine, but I'll probably buy something made specificly for the car. Will I need to remove carpet or do anything in preperation for the install? Thanks for everyone's imput!
  16. Yeah I thought a drive on was best too, beacuse then the body and sus. are in there nornal "neutral" state. Gearhead - how much for the install, I'm looking at some full lenths.
  17. Cake job, if I were you I'd do the water pump while you're in there.
  18. You could find a nice Legacy GT for 17K
  19. Its for an '88 t-bird, same fox platform as the Mustang, just a little longer. I don't have them yet, just checking for near furure reference. How much for the install? Thanks.
  20. well fuck you very much, I'll let you know.
