"DOT approved" doesn't mean it's legal. Kumho V710 tires are approved and very illegal to have on Ohio roads, code says they have to have tread across the entire surface of the tire, not just 2 grooves so take it for what it's worth.
I would imagine harnesses are illegal to have on the road. Seatbelts are designed to work in a certain way with the rest of the safety systems in the car and like said a harness will prevent you from moving in the seat.
NASA has pretty clear cut rules about this, call it the "Rule of 3". If you have a harness you must have a racing seat and rollbar as they're designed to work together. Used in other combinations of maybe just a harness could end up killing you in the right situation.
^Not familiar with it, cliffs and would blockbuster have it for rent??
Pat, I think most people(at least car people my age and younger) have heard of Initial D!! Also, season 4 of it owns the rest, the CGI it 10 times better.
I've never been bothered in my Laser, and it has a rollbar, aluminum seat, and 5 points. I'm pretty sure it's illegal but one of those things that's rarely enforced.
If you can get into Anime I really like "Appleseed".
I'm trying to find this new one called "Vexille" that came out in Japan last year, I stumbled on the soundtrack which was put together by Paul Oakenfold and is badass!! Movie looks pretty good.
"Fist of Legend" was an early Jet Li movie and badass.
"Sunshine" is a newer movie and was really good but I don't think it was very popular.
To my knowledge NASA and SCCA don't do anything with bikes, I do hear about a lot of bike events at Nelson Ledges and I'm sure you could find out about on some bike forum.
NASA and SCCA both require it for their learning programs for road courses as you "must" have an instructor with you, unlike drag racing it requires skill sets that take time to learn!! Autox it's not neccessary.
Is Xbox Live free now??
Beretta, because of the tactics at which they were using to try and win the format war and that big mouthed prick that used to work at Sony.
That's the "ideal" thing to do, and if you don't feel comfortable being on a track for the first time without one then definitely do an HPDE or 2 before this event may happen.
AJ, I don't think I'll make the 1st Mid-Ohio HPDE but I WILL be at the 2nd one and you should come do it as well and likely we won't be doing a day at Nelson until late summer it seems.
The dude that won was fucking fast, he owned in almost everything by just runnung by everyone.
Scott, thanks for that, she's a lot hotter than I thought in normal clothes!!
Remember that as much as you might think so your not Michael Schumacher and you can't drive like him your first time out!! I'm sure the people working at the track could have some pointers for us first timers and as long as we take our time and not try to set any lap records. I plan on just having fun and taking my time and not wrecking my car.
Like said above I think the most important thing is "BRAKES"!! Make sure you have good pads(meaning they should probably be new or near it), have your system bleed to make sure it's not leaking and in good shape. Your engine oil should be completely topped off to ensure you don't get so low that in a corner it drains away from the pickup(I've seen what it does to an engine when it does this) and all the rest of your fluids are good.
Thanks Ron. I was planning on doing this, this summer finally. Were talking about doing a group to Nelson Ledges this summer, possibly piggy-backing on a fun day as it would be something that's affordable.
Then explain to me the "Movie" with the "Mustang" that's on tonight??
My guess is they might use the ratings from tonights "movie" to judge wether they should do a series or not?? They originally were saying it was going to be a "series" but who knows what's going on now.
I think it's pretty obvious that tonights movie is NOT a remake, it's a continuation of the original series and I'll watch it so I can laugh at it.
