  1. I was surprised as well they started the race, between the weepers and all the dust from the oil dry it was a mess of a track even if they had treaded tires!! Jr. has had a lot of bad luck lately, he can't seem to get any break at all.
  2. My sister works there(not a dentist), she said she gets damn good care as well and highly reccommends it.
  3. ^I don't think they will care as long as the person registers their name with a car, I doubt they will know if it's not "their" care they're driving. I won't be participating but once I get my membership I'm going to volunteer to work this first event so I can get my free day for the next one and help with the costs.
  4. Yeah, as we get soooo much snow around here. I see Vettes driven daily, that tells you how much snow we get here. Not picking on you man, just making a point is all. Most people don't really know how to drive a fwd at it's best, Civic's are fwd yet I see them run astonishing times at the tracks!! FWD is not as bad as advertised if you know how to deal with the natural understeer. The comparison of times from the Nurburgring means little, the technology of cars is advancing so quickly a 5 year old car can be outdated anymore. Lets go back to the same years as the the cars compared to a same year equivalent to the Cobalt(a cavalier) and see how those times compare, they won't. Don't get me wrong, the new Cobalt is a fast car for the money but not that damn great.
  5. ^Nah. Of all the lakes in Ohio I'd take Erie over all others in cleanliness. Besides, the walleye fishing has been so damn good even amateurs like me can go up there and easily limit out everyday!!
  6. I bought my Pathfinder at "Auto World" right at the corner of 161 and Rt. 3, basically right there by Iron Pony and the old Passen shop. Truck runs great and I had no issues with the dealership, very friendly people.
  7. It's a very safe atmosphere with them, Ray said he had so much fun because the environment was nice and controlled and the instructors were a great help, in and out of the car. Gray, they still pretty much put you right out in your car as there's no real other way to learn this stuff. You have your class time inbetween run groups then your "download"(debrief as Ron put it) after a session where they discuss how you did and work on what you can do better. I may not of done this yeat but I got a lot of great insight from Ray doing it all season, I think he's going to stay in HPDE 3 for another event or 2 with going to a different car then moving to HPDE 4 next season. I have some catching up to do!!
  8. New to me. Though once I heard how much they charged for these cars considering how they were built I would of questioned buying one.
  9. Rich, I know you saw those cars in person, which is why I went and found a video of them on a track, and you seemed to like their abilites on the track. Were they having a lot of serious issues? or just a maintenance laiden car? It is a GM product but a lot of their powertrains these days have been quite good imo.
  10. You referring to the zebra mussels Nate? Those are finally dying off at least. I think it's pretty neat seeing the snow cover like that.
  11. I'd prefer the Si on build quality but the interior is a big turn off. I've been surprised at how well those Cobalts do on the track, I watched a spec series of them and they were impressive handling cars, maybe on par or possibly better than the Civic.
  12. http://modis.gsfc.nasa.gov/gallery/individual.php?db_date=2008-02-23 Lake Erie is almost frozen over!!
  13. Hmm, nobody was there when it happened....wonder why??
  14. I won't make this one but the next event at M/O I should be there!!
  15. ^Agreed, though both cars look great I don't like the wheels on the second car. Those cars in black like that, with wheels like that, just look menacing, you can't help but notice them anywhere they go!
  16. ^ That thing is tits!! CCW's can make any car look good.
  17. I'd hit it. Oh, and look for "Ingrid Vandebosch" on their site, that woman is a 10!!
  18. Dr. Apex

    Ice!

Man it sucks out there. Even the freeway you could see the glossy/non-glossy areas where it was an icy slush!!
  19. Remember what forum your on here Craig, it's the internet and everyone knows everything so take it with a grain of salt.
  20. It figures that movie would be mentioned along side "Requiem for a dream"....lol. Might have to try it though.
  21. ^Yep, and it was new to me. If only a man that smart could be in charge of this country!!
  22. His previous suv couldn't do that anyway!! If you like it, get it. They are good looking trucks and have an LSX in them, why not?
  23. Thanks Niles, hadn't really thought about putting all that up there yet. I know some places won't let convertibles run at all without an aftermarket rollbar, SCCA is like this. They won't even let the S2000 run without one even though the factory stuff is good enough for most groups, though I can't blame them at all. I'll have to remember the pants rule, I always forget that when I've been to National Trails for the drags. Other than that and checking up on the car maintenance I'm ready to go.
