  1. ok everyone watch the video when he gets to 3rd or 4th gear whatever he dynos in. watch the throttle at the tb when he jams the gas and when the turbo actually spools, thats pitiful. theres prolly a 3ish second lag

    You have no idea.

  2. Wait, hold on, I just re-read the vignette. It says "...and within 3 seconds, the dragster catches and passes you."

So we've established that the Vette is traveling at 293.4 feet per second at a rate of 200mph.

By my calculations, the fastest dragster on record (at a ET of 4.41 seconds) would travel at an average of 299 feet per second.

Thus, based on those calculations, in theory, the dragster could catch the Vette within three seconds. However, based on those calculations, the dragster would actually catch the Vette within the first second, if based on the averages (i.e., 293 feet per second for the Vette compared to 299 feet per second for the Vette), but we would surmise that to be erroneous, since the dragster would not start out right at 299 feet per second, whereas the Vette (which is allowed to cross the starting line at a full 200mph) would start out at 293 feet per second.

Thus, as of right now, I can't conclude that the dragster would, in fact, catch and pass the Vette within three seconds. I guess I would need to know how quickly the dragster accelerates through those first three seconds. My guess (read: GUESS) is that the dragster would NOT catch and pass the Vette in those first three seconds; instead, I think it really makes up it's time (and ground on the Vette) in that last second or so.

In the 1/8th mile, a good run is usually around 3.0-3.1 seconds at 275+mph.

  3. Justin Burcham is a hard core heads up racer and proved it by coming back and owning all.

No doubt about that, he's at the top of whatever class he's in at any given time. Currently the quickest and fastest '05 'Stang on the planet.

  4. Just curious, what things could GM have included to make the car more worthwhile?

It stems from the timid styling, poor marketing campaign, and not giving the people a truly new vehicle. The platform was around for a good long while before it turned into the GTO. I have an old C&D magazine where they compared a Holden HSV-R to the BMW M5(i believe it was '02?). That car was basically a 4 door '05 GTO. It had an LS-1 worked over by Callaway to produce nearly 400hp, and it ran neck and neck with the BMW in nearly all their tests. The car is a great car, but not what people expected, or wanted in a new GTO. That name is held in a much higher regard, and warranted a better effort from GM to give the consumers something more than worthy of the badge. Instead they got a really good car that did many things well, but failed to stand out in any way, and grab the imagination, or tug on any heartstrings of GTO or Pontiac loyalists. It really is a shame, and I wish they had a better platform that they could build on and improve. It was definitely a Q-ship type of car that I would have defintely looked into buying. Especially after watching the video below.

  5. Thank you for pointing that out please inform JP of that as well. I am using the coltboostin line of reasoning.

his set up is gone, my hp to weight ration will be better and like I said I will be able to fit more rubber. I have also geared this car for roll. So until he comes down here and proves me wrong I own coltboostin.

Just to get my numbers straight based on what you just claimed, and guessing your car weighs at least 3200lbs, you'll be making 900+rwhp? Sure the turbo will support that and then some, but I still think that's a very ambitious claim.

Conversely, until you come up here and prove him wrong he assumes ownership of you. :asshole:

  6. Forgot to mention that my 130 trap was when I made 500rwhp and 535 rwtq. You can see my new numbers in my sig, should I post what it made with the big jets for you.

When did you hit 130mph Sam? I remembered the video you posted from LaRue when you ran the 11.77@127.xx, and saying you ran 128.xx and some change as well that day. Later in the same thread you mentioned making 650+rwtq with that setup, and how ill that was trying to get traction in 1st gear. I didn't see any numbers posted after that so I found your above post to be a little misleading.

  7. just so fuck face dosen't bullshit you guys he was at nopi . he runs 10.86 and dynos out at 406 hp at the wheels there. got video of it all......

Coltboostin' didn't dyno at Nopi. That red colt GT hatch was another friend of ours. 406whp is about 100hp shy of what coltboostin' was making last summer.

  8. i find him very f**kin annoying he's wrong on the 2g part and running 10.7s considering on the average it takes 1000 per second in et times and a colt is prob a 18 sec car and prob 16 for the turbo model

What the hell did you just try to say?

  9. Quoting WWD JUNK from the other tread:

    C. No body parts have flown off thusfar and the car has been clocked at over 180mph.

    And now its this:

The one thing those calculations do prove is that 180mph is without a doubt VERY possible.

    Very interesting.

Benny, are you having comprehension problems. Yes the car has been clocked at over 180. The calculations of the supposed top speed of the combo also back that fact up. That is why the calculations make our claims VERY possible. We know them as fact, you all see them as bullshit hence the different vernacular to describe the situation at hand.

  10. COUNTER OFFER

Your nutswinging monkeyboy thnks your car can hit 206mph RIGHT NOW AS IT SITS, thanks to the magic of a top speed calculator.

Discounting all variables aside, I think he, you, and your car are full of shit, and your car CANNOT PHYSICALLY do 206mph. It's that simple. I will put down $100 bet to you and him, and invote anyone else to do the same, stating that:

JP's Colt in it's current configuration, turbo and manifold added, cannot hit 206mph. This will be not only be verified using a GPS, but using my radar gun as well.

This means as the car sits currently. No adding duct tape, a rear diffuser, underside spoilers, nothing.

BTW, this can be done on a cold, dry night. Tires moving that fast will bond t the road quite well.

You game, JP? I hope so, your faggot buddy with the manly wrestling video runs his mouth a lot on your behalf. Let's see this "calculated" 206mph.

Based on his current tire size, and gear ratios, at 8500rpm in 5th gear the car would be at 206mph said the numbers on the calculator. Will the car do that? Who the hell knows. I'm sure JP will try, but other factors such as drag, wind speed, and road conditions will undoubtedly come into play. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'm sure we can get them to you so that you can do your own calculations.

The one thing those calculations do prove is that 180mph is without a doubt VERY possible.

  11. Now you're just getting on my fucking nerves. I said that you can't do 180... and I stand by that. So in order to stoop to your level of e-racing, I'll run a lap of 270 against you; after everyone else you've spouted off to owns you. No whining, no excuses, no bullshit. If you win, I'll congratulate you and admit I was wrong; even though I'm pretty sure you'll be nowhere to be found once Tilley hands you your ass. If you really feel it necessary, you can try to beat up on my Z06. Of course, I'd be willing to set you out a stretch of road, and verify your speed with a radar gun too, since that's what I originally said... that you can't do 180. But of course, changing the subject is good too.

I don't even think JP lacks so much brain power as to run his car flat out for 20-30 minutes around Columbus. I hope you get arrested, or hurt yourself or someone else you care about in the process. 60-180 sounds pretty fair, it will show off the power of the two cars, and refute your claim of the impossibility of the Colt hitting 180 in one fell swoop.

  12. You use a 1 5/8" header of your choice with that turbo kit. But you knew that and were just being a smart ass with that comment right?

Google before you think you're a smarty pants and you try to poke fun at someone. :D

    Bump for a nice car.

  13. Try watching the IHRA top sportsman class if you think bracket racing is for slow turds. It's also the only way you can have any kind of competitive races against cars that are completely unregulated in regards to performance. There is a lot more to bracket racing then having a car that runs consistant ET's. If that's your conception of what it's all about, then that's probably why you've had such little success in doing it.
