More or less the general consesus from us and Autometer alike. We re-wired it like 3 or 4 times thinking there might be some freak interference with the tach wire causing it to happen, but it still does it. Works when it counts, people ask and I laugh and explain, and then proceed to tell them the calibration button is for NOS ...

Redardless of the domain controller or not, you can always set up a seperate group for your son and just restrict the hell out of that group, then just add your son's account into that group through computer management. I'm sure there's other ways to do it too, that's always the case with computers and especially software.

Also for drivers, if you don't have the CD's that came with the computer, go to the manufacturer website like previously stated, there should be an option somewhere on the page for the model of computer you have for you to download the original drivers. 2 things about this, if you've upgraded any components of the computer the original drivers wont help, also the original drivers will most likely be out of date, they should have updated drivers on the page as well. I'd give you the links and things for the pages I'm talking about, but I don't know the HP sites that well. If you had a Gateway I could give you everything you need, I'm a Gateway whore here at work. Hope it helps

I've had one issue with Autometer gauges, the Speedo in my truck wants to act like a tach until you start rolling, then it drops to 0 and functions as a Speedo the way it should. We've talked to several people from Autometer and none of them know why it's doing that. Other than that, flawless use of gauges.

The spending 7K comment wasn't meant for a total price of the car. I basically meant that I didn't want to spend that much on the platform ... I know it's going to be hard to find one cheaper than that, and I'll look (most likely in vain). I'm just saying, is the car really worth what people are trying to get out of them, in your honest opinions? I just don't want to be taken because I'm uneducated on the matter, or misinformed. I know I sound retarded with the 7K comment, I plan on pulling the motor the following winter anyways, I just want to make sure that I'm not getting ripped off when I do eventually buy one.

that's the one I found also a member now, just haven't picked through it ... local 300ZX clubs? Just basically what the major problems are, what fixes there are for the problems, a reliable place to get parts from, what issues you've had with them, and what the car is actually worth. I plan on getting a 90/91-ish car, and I find it hard to pay $7k+ for an ODB1 car, twin turbo or not.

I think I've decided that I'm gonna save my pennies for a early 90's 300ZX Twin Turbo. I've been poking around on the internet and found a huge ass forum for them, but haven't had time to pick through it and read up on them.
