  1. Top three shelves are easy to take out, they just rest on little pegs. The fourth one down is on rollers that you'd have to unscrew to get out, but it's maybe an inch above the dvr/dvd/game support board, so putting a wide screen there might not be an issue. The vertical board doesn't feel structural with regards to the top, but I still wouldn't put anything too heavy up there if it's removed to make way for a wide screen. If you take both the vertical support and the upper TV platform out (giving up the cubby for dvr/dvd/console), the effective TV hole becomes 46x31, just barely eeking out that last tape measure mark on both numbers. The glass door is on sorta-fancy hinges, so it'd probably be easier to remove it by unscrewing them rather than popping out the post.
  2. bump... do folks just not use these much anymore?
  3. On the ground, it rolls very easily. Definitely need some sort of ramp to get it on a truck bed, though; it's made from that heavy waffle/fiber+glue stuff with veneer overlay, so it's at least a three person job to lift it.
  4. Something tells me I ought to be PM'ing Andy in the next few days
  5. kinda reminds me of spy vs. spy
  6. Appalachian sonic booms aren't that uncommon... test pilots and jockeys in training like to buzz through the passes as they work bugs out or get familiar with new wings. Could just be the F-35 going through its paces.

    Idiocracy

Can't blame 'em. I've got an engineering degree, and while I may have "engineer" in my title, I'm little more than glorified helldesk/babysitter.
  8. Kroger on Sawmill just north of Hard has it as well.

    Free Sand

Filter sand is a little more coarse, but this stuff should work if given a good washing first. Just be sure to use a slow siphon to drain the rinse water out of whatever it is you use, because this stuff will get sucked up into a filter or vacuum real easy.
  10. The key word in your sentence is "fired." It is still the responsibility of the employer to inform the potential employee that the offer has been rescinded. Because having appropriate tools is a requirement of the job, going out and buying them because you have an offer in-hand, then being told when you show up that you don't have a job, is actionable.
  11. You bought tools on the expectation that the job was yours, and the start date moved appropriately. 1. You have a tort case for 'reliance' 2. Unless you have paperwork proving the job offer or a recording to that effect, good luck winning it.
  12. They're actually inside the cockpit bubble thing it calls its head. The dark spots on the front that look like eyes are actually some sort of nose
  13. But the hippies won't accept me... I eat too much meat and smell like death warmed over! Well, ok, just filet mignon freshly seared a hibachi, but you get the point
  14. hehe "... or to escape capture by scientists."
  15. I must be lucky... all my gf wants to do is curl up in bed and sleep it off.
  16. No. Unless your employer is feeling generous, OT doesn't kick in until you've done 40 in a work week.
  17. The one over on Section Line? You're right, it's been strangely quiet of late. Those blasts typically shake my office, and we haven't had so much as a rumble in the past few months.
  18. No. Debit cards do not - Build a credit history - Provide fraud protection - Provide additional warranties - Protect against overdraft* * A little-known fact of credit/debit cards is that when you use one, a hold is placed against some amount of money in the account. Gas stations will typically place a hold of $1 or $5 just to make sure the card is good, while restaurants and high-end retailers will hold the entire amount (restaurants often hold an additional 10% without even realizing it). This hold counts against your balance remaining, regardless of what the actual transaction is. By example... You have $200 in your checking account. You go to a restaurant, run a tab of $100, and use your debit card. Your initial hold is likely to be $110. Now let's say you're a big tipper, and tip 30%, so the transaction amount is $130. Unfortunately, the hold does not get automatically released at the same time the transaction is processed, so instead of being dinged for $130, you are actually hit for $240. HELLO OVERDRAFT FEES!!!
  19. Kirk, were you ever able to do the "grab the post and hold yourself sideways" like Bednar did?
  20. If that's the oldest active card you have, and it's in good standing, stick it in the freezer, but don't close the account. Your scores are helped by lengthy *good* histories.
  21. Already been said, and I'm buying both their burritos to make up for it. @#%(*@(thunderbird@!#%(!(&!!!!!!
  22. Holy F@$@$#.... I'm going to freakin go ballistic on Thunderbird. It changed the 'from' address I was replying with, and that one's not linked into gmail.
