I'd suggest having someone near who can run a VIN report, and possibly a CARFAX as well. Make sure the thing isn't hot and doesn't have a salvage/worse history before signing anything.

This is actually a very valid question... Nobody's been able to get a straight answer from Honda. To the collective GH board knowledge, Mobil was the only company even making a 0W-20 until superchevy (Bill) told me about the Pennzoil, so the going theory was that Mobil gave Honda some rebadged oil, or it was some kind of synth/dino blend. From what you say, it sounds like I won't need to worry, as this weekend is my first oil change, coming in at a hair over 8k.

Second-ing Lustal... the gunk removal is the only reason I've heard of not to switch to a synthetic on a high mileage engine. For what it's worth, my hybrid is going to be living exclusively on Mobil1 syth. The fact that they're the only ones who make 0W-20 probably has something to do with that, though.

What does a dealership like Ricart do when this stuff happens? It's not like they can go PDR a couple thousand cars on a whim.

I think the best piece of advice anyone can give you, especially if you've never done it before, is to just relax. You certainly won't be perfect on the first shot, and even the second, third, or twentieth may be a bit dicey (that's about how many times I had to try with my dad's boat trailer ). Nobody's grading you, there isn't a prize for setting the new extraction record, and you've already got the girl. Be patient, get used to how the trailer reacts, and enjoy the parent-free month
