  1. Between two pump chump and can't hit dick, the future of the human race is looking pretty bleak.
  2. I'm not sure which is worse... that it emits that unintelligible garbage after two tickles, or that I was expecting it to wet itself.
  3. I'd ballpark that around $350-400 new, depending greatly on the screen size and embedded video. Used, ehh, $125ish unless it's got GeForce 6000 series w/ 17" screen, then maybe as much as $200.

    Fujita CAI

Ok, realized late last night that the dyno they had posted was actually for the '07 Fit. Emailed them, they fixed, so the correct graph is now shown. Call me dumb, but considering most of my accelleration is done below 3500rpm, it looks like I'd actually be shooting myself in the foot by adding this thing. Yes? No? Other factors that don't show up?
  5. Another +1 for those guys from me. Had the CV serviced there a couple of times before getting my civic, and they always did great work and even dropped me off/picked me up on the times they had to keep it overnight. Need to look for a coupon, but can anybody tell me whether they'll cut price if I bring my own oil+filter? I rather doubt they keep 0W-20 PAE synth on the shelf.

Evan, if I follow you right, you're saying a CAI adds more hp, but SRI better throttle. When you say throttle, do you mean low-end accelleration (which I could use), or something else? Would either have a more dramatic impact on efficiency? There's no way this thing is ever going to outrun someone, so extra horses aren't as useful as better pick-up and overall eff.
  7. That sound you hear is a Chuck Norris roundhouse sending this thing back to the dismal 'C' studio it came from. Even Mini Me has more mojo

    Fujita CAI

http://www.f5air.com/images/dyno/sr1923.GIF Just found that on Fujita's site. Could someone help me make some sense of it? From what little I know, it doesn't seem to improve things all that much over stock. I imagine it'd probably help when I'm trying to merge onto 270E from 315S, but apart from that, I'm at a loss. It's also a 'short ram' intake, versus 'cold air', if that makes a difference.
  9. Not going to get into the nitty-gritty here, but do you really want an all-in-one machine, or does it just seem like a nifty idea? Back when I did sales with Best Buy and CompUSA, folks were always looking over them, and while the margin on those beasts was better, not being on commission allowed us to honestly suggest they split the functionality into separate machines. Primary reason being that you'd get better quality for about the same price by separating the printer and scanner. Beyond that, you say you'd like the following: - Common: Just about everything being put out these days qualifies, and if my old HP 540 still worked (Purchased around 1992, died 1999), I could still get ink cartridges for it. - Price: Again, just about anything qualifies. Printers are loss leaders, the real money is in the ink. - Scanning: As I said, I (and my coworkers) wasn't (weren't) a fan of it then, and I'm still not today. Unless desk space is at a premium, you'll likely do better separating the two. - Network ready: Not worth the extra cost. Hook it up to a computer that's always on, enable printer sharing, and there you go. Instant network printer - Reliable: Well, I won't make any judgement calls here (every company will turn out a lemon sometimes), except to say that the service plans are usually pretty worthless when compared to the cost of just buying a new one. If a printer's going to fail quickly, it'll usually do it within the return window. Otherwise it'll go for years That said, since you say color isn't important, I'd suggest a cheap laser (Samsung, Oki, and Brother come to mind, $100 normally, sometimes see sales/rebates for $80). The print quality is higher than ink, the copy won't smear if it gets damp, and toner carts get you a long way further than an ink cart, making cost-per-page less painful. Toner carts are also usually easier to refill, should you choose to do so.

Anybody hear of these guys before? If so, good or bad? I see plenty of sites selling their stuff, but Google's a little short on actual reviews.
  11. Actually, this makes quite a bit of sense to me. It's the exact same notion as placing a limit order on the stock market, saying "If Microsoft falls below $25/share, buy 100 shares", writ a couple hundred times over. If enough people think oil's a bargain at $60/bbl, it'll never go below that. They just better hope that the supply/demand inversion doesn't last too long, or they'll lose massive amounts of money, just like hedge funds have been on their bad natural-gas call.
  12. Will she get along with three cardinal tetras, a serpae tetra, a black neon tetra, two golden minnows, a siamensis, and a handful of ghost shrimp? I could drop by on my way home from work and give her a home if she's a community fish and doesn't mind a 10g tank. Edit: That would be tomorrow (wednesday), I'm already home for the night.

  14. TSA. For real... one of the guys I started with at Ohio washed out of the CS program his sophomore year, then went to work at the RS warehouse/testing facility in Groveport. About a year and a half ago (last time he actually ICQ'd me), he said he'd left RS and was now at CMH as a baggage inspector.
  15. Why was the first thought to go through my head "Time to unpimp ze' auto!"?

    Road Rage

Ok, today made the third day in a row that someone was fucking blocking the driveway, and this bitch had the audacity to flip me off while I sat there with my turn signal on. Someone PLEASE tell me this is a ticketable offense before I pull someone out of their car and introduce their face to the sign.
  17. Some cyclists are required by law to wear helmets, those under 18 years old, those with "novice" tags (folks who just got their bikes within the past year), and passengers of those required to wear helmets.
  18. There's cool, and then there's Cool. Definitely Cool.
  19. Darn... Rotarded beat me to it. Those kinds of personal questions are illegal. They have absolutely nothing to do with the job, nor your qualifications for it.

    Road Rage

What I'd like to know, if there's a "Do not block driveway" sign somewhere, and you're blocking it, is that a ticketable offense? Once again, trying to turn into my apartment complex, I have to sit there blocking up traffic because some old fart in a pickup can't read. I'd love to just sit there in a lawn chair some day I'm off work, and write down the license plates of everyone who blocks it, and send that list to the CPD saying "Check out all the lamers you can ticket." That, and Hard Rd eastbound having a "NO LEFT TURN" sign at the Sawmill CVS, and people blocking things up there doing exactly that. Really, I'm not vindictive, or violent! Not in the least! But there are some days where I'd love to just pull out a HERF gun and throw a couple megawatts of radiation through someone's car computer. Totally untraceable, not like shooting their tires with a crossbow or peppering their sides with a paintball gun.
  21. Art, you're welcome to it. I'm looking for a bow-front.
  22. Is the aquarium stand for a rectangular box tank, or a bow-front?
  23. Seems the Japanese aren't the only ones who enjoy pranking people on tv. This one courtesy of the Germans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX2-mkokPDA&NR
