  1. The bad news: There are no real perks to it other than saying "I did my civic duty." The money they give you for your time sucks, and though it can be interesting if you get a "good" case, it's not guaranteed. The good news: Lawyers *hate* putting anybody on a jury that they don't think they can get on their side. Therefore, if you present yourself as a distracted, arrogant, bigoted, prejudiced ass (basically whatever the pure opposite of what the defense is looking for), odds are they'll dump you from the pool faster than Linn can give us nasty vids.
  2. Been going to NTB-Sawmill ever since I moved here (even before Mensan dragged my sorry butt here). Can't remember ever having a problem with any of the guys there. Wish all shops ran like that!
  3. It's 0.6deg off, but if there's nothing to be done about it without tearing the sucker apart, I'm not going to sweat it. I can live with the added tire wear Would be nice to let folks know when something can't be tweaked, though.
  4. They should all be factory spec, don't know enough to intelligently ask for deviations. Left front caster was the only one that didn't come within the numbers.
  5. yep... I'm not rich or knowledgeable enough to have a "play" car yet
  6. Just had mine done at NTB Sawmill over the weekend, and on the final printout, noticed that the caster on the front left was still out of spec. Now before I got as far as getting all huffed up, a corner of my memory jumped out and said "Remember what Roy (my old mech back in Cleveland) said... one of the alignments gets set at the factory, and can't be changed without tearing the whole car apart." So... is caster the one that can't be changed, or was someone being lazy that day?
  7. Ask around at other (semi-)local school bookstores. The engineering book (Fundamentals of Engineering, ENGR 400 or somesuch) I used the one summer I spent at OSU cost me $100 new since it was a new edition, and the bookstore offered me something like $8 at the end. I said "fuck that" and kept it. When I went back to OU in the fall, I figured I'd take it along and see if they'd offer anything better. Walked home with $60

  9. Copy of the .ZIP file online at http://bbhhs96.dyndns.org/other/ww1/. Uncompressed files for embedding/linkage going up now. Update: Mirror complete. All files uncompressed, with original zip still in place.
  10. Can't speak to either of them, as I've been going to Westerville Athletic ever since I moved here. Great hours, equip is always kept in good shape, staff's helpful, and they've got a pool I can do proper turns in. My only gripes are that they could use a bigger parking lot (especially during the "New Years Resolution" boom), and the pool is usually a little too warm for my tastes (84 is great for kids playing, but for working out, 80 is better, and 76-78 prime).
  11. maybe, but i'll bet she had fun shoving it up his arse
  12. http://di.fm (related to sky.fm) for techno, eurodance, classical, 70's, 80's, rap, and a couple other things http://dementiaradio.org for more wacky type stuff
  13. I've got plenty of space and unlimited bandwidth on my server. That's where my "Morally questionable activities bear" sig lives.
  14. Whaaa?? Is this some sort of European tub or something? Normal "high" voltage in the US is either 208V (standard along with 480V in commercial buildings and light industry, but extremely rare in residential) or 240V (split phase, can almost guarantee this is what you've got running into your house). Make sure the guy you hire reads the nameplates carefully. While a 220V motor will run off 240V, you run the risk of burning it out faster, especially if it's also meant to be 50Hz (different than the 50A you mention... the frequency change to 60Hz is bad 'cause it'll make it spin faster).
  15. 2nd Jason. The only potential hiccup I see is if your family room has digital, and the upstairs room does not.
  16. And her sobriety isn't? Sorry, you lost any hope of being considered reasonably intelligent right there. After that, all bets are off.
  17. Is that even practical? Granted, it's going to turn in some impressive 1/4mi and other straightaway times, but what happens when tries to round a corner at 45mph?
  18. Guess I just don't spend enough time playing with my pussies
  19. I've seen cats on nip, but this one's on something a lot more sinister: http://www.livevideo.com/video/funnyvideos/2455D86EF66E49FA8F1576F3AD94E04C/cat-on-drugs.aspx NWS for potential background/followup vids.
  20. More amusing was the "Katara Is an Ugly Girl" AMV that was linked off that... a take-off on Aqua's "I'm a Barbie Girl".
  21. I'm starting to lay out what my next gaming system is going to look like, and this little piece isn't going to be playing a part in it. It's a Highpoint RocketRAID 1640 with four Samsung SP1614C drives. Asking $300, as 160GB drives have come down a fair bit in the last year.
  22. If it's MET, it's +2. Them and Hegre put out some choice material.
  23. I get nothing but a screen full of "to see these pics, go to..."
  24. That was perhaps the most patently offensive piece of racial stereotyping I have ever seen! Please sir, may I have another???
