  1. Appreciate the replies, really. Thank you all! Here are pics of the animal, for those in the dark... http://images6.theimagehosting.com/Picture028.e10.th.jpg http://images6.theimagehosting.com/Picture035.th.jpg
  2. Thanks for the responses. I'd like to make one, but they're molded plastic. I'll see if I can scare up a part number, I'd buy 10 if I could find 'em. None of the chain stores around here can help me, so I may have to adapt something. Problem is, I have no idea what is even close enough to modify for this engine.
  3. Thanks! As for junkyards, most will have worn or missing guides. It's very common to open one up & find the guide missing & the cover damaged. I have a new chain & tensioner for my engine, and I've located a usable guide, but I'd much rather put a new one in this motor while it's on the stand. It's a bitch to change in-the-car. Having no guide, or if it fails, the chain will damage the cover, and the whip effect breaks the tensioner. Without the guide, I broke 2 tensioners last year.
  4. Anyone got a line on obsolete Ford parts? I need a timing chain guide for my S/C'd 2.3 HSC (not the OHC motor). Ford tells me I'm S.O.L., I'm hoping someone here has a clue. Thanks in advance, Steve
  5. That left a mark...a biiiiig mark!
  6. Those are crappy stock times, as mentioned above. Those magazine editors must need lessons in launching. Their GTP times are way off (Mine ran 14.65 in street trim, with my rookie ass at the wheel), and their stating the '92 Tempo GLS as a mid 17-sec car is wrong. Those cars could run in the low 16's (V6 5-speed) all day long. They were referred to as the 'poor man's SHO'.
  7. No Grand Prix, and *gasp* no Tempo, either! Still, some nice artwork there.
  8. Thanks for the link! I've got the "ZSNES" emulator already, now maybe I'll have a good NES one. I've got a Genesis emulator called "Gens" that works great! Add to that my Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad, and it kicks ass!
  9. Pretty much sums it up...
  10. Wasn't asking you to repeat. I have little patience for rude or careless drivers, and your experience is another reason why. As you could tell, I've paid attention to your posts. I didn't hit your car or ruin your day, no need for spite...
  11. A Durango, huh? :suvdrivers:
  12. Yes, that night must have been better than average, or the car count was low. I've gotten as many as 12, but not too damn often. They do run the bikes every Friday too, but the Jrs seem to take a lot longer.
  13. True W/prep, MCIR bites pretty hard, I got my best 60' (2.09) there in the GTP, but unprepped, it's greasy. I'd love to see 'em get rid of that left-lane 'rut' too, makes for a fight in a torquey FWD car... Back on topic, I'm not really 'up to speed' on IHRA vs NHRA, but with what I'm reading here, I don't look forward to the change. My 2 favorite tracks, Milan & US 131, are both IHRA tracks, and both are clean & smooth. On a typical T&T night, a dozen or more runs can easily be had. At MCIR, they run Jr Dragsters on Fridays, and it cuts available T&T runs to between 4 & 8 on the average.
  14. I have to do my own stuff...Tempo tuner shops are...nonexistant. The pic in my sig is last years setup, a little rough, but I had to build almost everything, as the aftermarket for the pushrod HSC is also nonexistant. It's getting more refinement and power this year, if it holds together, it should be a real treat.
  15. Pics? Could it function as a bypass? The 'DSM' style bypass I have (Bosch) might not stand up to my new motor, higher boost, or have the bypass capacity for my setup.
  16. I'll take those rockers if they're available. I'll use 8 for the current motor, and the other 8 for my 'next phase' project.
  17. Mrtbolt64 Well, I could pick it up, but where are you in relation to Columbus? I'm from Lima. I'm bumping up the boost this year, going with rockers & a header. A 5.0 pump should handle it, as I'm keeping the same injectors. The stock one didn't fall on it's ass until the last 100 feet of the 1/4 or so, still did better than I expected. Just trying to keep my costs down a little. As for the tank, I don't need it. The Mustang pump swaps right into any year of Tempo/Topaz, so if Buckeye needs it, he can take 'er home.
  18. ...from, I think, an '86-'93 or so Mustang. The stock pump in my Tempo wasn't keeping up with 30# injectors and 6psi of boost.
  19. Keep me posted, sounds good. Very well might buy 'em if nothing else comes up in the meantime. In other news, my pistons/rings came in, dipshits sent std instead of .030 (phone order, the guy didn't type the ".030" suffix on the part numbers), and my freeze/galley/cam plug kit is nowhere to be found; the machine shop is waiting on me, instead of the other way around...
  20. Thanks for the reply! I could definitely use 'em, hoping to get this thing together in time for a few passes this season. Price?
  21. Hello! Hope to find some decent used rockers, 1.7 or so, for a project of mine. I only need 8 (yes, they fit a certain Ford 4-banger), but I'll buy all 16 if the price is right. Thanks in advance.
