  1. Who else remembers Incredible Universe? Up until a few days ago, I had completely forgotten that the Garden Ridge (or My Home or whatever the fuck they call it now) in Mill Run used to be this... I think I was only 7 or 8 when it opened (1994 maybe?) and it only lasted a couple years, but it was a pretty cool experience. That place was fucking packed full every time I went there, it was kind of crazy. Totally random thread, but this nostalgic stuff is cool to think about. I've always been intrigued by the rise and fall of big businesses, the reasons why they fail, and years later they are completely forgotten by most. I remember when Mill Run also had K Mart, Big Bear, Columbus Sports, Gates McDonald, a dozen successful restaurants, etc. It's crazy how much things change in a decade or two. Hell, look what happened to West Broad. Hop in Doc Brown's DeLorean and go back 20 years, you would think it's an alternate reality.
  2. Yeah, it's already bad enough as is
  3. Nice. Just ordered a tuscan six cheese for delivery. What's with the "delivery fee"? Just curious, is there a delivery fee if I order the same thing over the phone?
  4. My family has owned three GM minivans (Lumina APV, a TransSport, and a Montana) and drove all of them to over 250k miles before selling. Never needed anything other than common maintenance
  5. My girlfriend got offered a job in her field that she's very interested in. It would be a step up from her current job and a solid move for her career. Very small company, but they have been around for a long time and all their employees have worked there for several years. Good hours, decent benefits, etc. The only thing they don't offer is health insurance. Her current employer offers health insurance, but it's kind of shitty. I am 100% clueless about anything related to this stuff. How do you get health insurance if your company doesn't offer it? Does anyone have advice or experience with this? Is it odd that a company doesn't offer health insurance for full-time employees?
  6. What? If you fall off a boat several miles from land, I'm pretty sure you would prefer to have a life jacket. Since he didn't have one, he HAD TO swim miles because he had no choice, and by some miracle he pulled it off. I'm willing to bet if he'd been wearing a jacket, he would have been noticed by the other fishing boat or the coast guard copter. Life jacket or not, you're pretty fucked in that situation, but the odds of surviving have gotta be greater with the jacket vs attempting to swim that distance.
  7. Congrats Do people that haven't seen you for a couple years even recognize you at first?
  8. Moral of the story: if your boat is on autopilot and you're all alone, miles from land, you might wanna wear a life jacket
  9. Pretty cool story... http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12155533/rob-konrad-recounts-16-hour-swim-survival
  10. Off topic, but did you post any pics of your new house? I might have missed it
  11. Yeah, I have very strict criteria, and on a limited budget. I've looked at hundreds online over the past few months, narrowed them down, went out by myself and saw a half dozen properties in person before bothering with setting up any walk throughs. I've only set up two formal walkthroughs, and after seeing the second house, I'm 99.999% sure that it's exactly what I want. Is it normal to find the "perfect" house that quickly? I still plan on seeing a few more just for the hell of it. I'm mainly just bored at work and curious to hear your guys' experiences.
  12. Solid advice. That's the reason I passed on buying my grandma's old house on the north side. First time buying a house. I plan on living there at least 5-10 years minimum, potentially much longer.
  13. In person. How many did you actually schedule a walk-through.
  14. Before you bought your house, how many did you look at before ultimately deciding on the one you chose?
  15. Almost every FD that I've seen has that same damn bumper. It looks like someone molded S2000 headlights to replace the turn signals. I don't understand why anyone would spend money to downgrade such a great look, but to each his own I guess.
  16. How come 75% of FD owners do that same dumb ass aftermarket front bumper? Mojoe's stock bumper looks 100x better
  17. +1  Beautiful car. I like it exactly how it sits. Those wheels look great, I wouldn't change a thing. I can't imagine refinishing them would be too costly
  18. No problem, glad to help you out
