  1. ^^ Totally get what you're saying above. However just because we don't live in the filthy conditions present over there and have better healthcare overall, doesn't mean we're that much safer. Again, my daughter caught MRSA in the hospital and we all know hospitals are not germ free. Far from it. Get an infected Joe-Smoe from Liberia who comes here and he ill likely spit, cough and pick his nose and rub his dirty ass hands over a lot of stuff all before he gets in a cab at the airport. "This is probably the most difficult global health security challenge that we have faced in our lifetime," ~ Dr. Keiji Fukuda, assistant director-general World Health Organization (WHO) The media isn't faking the images of the gear that's in place for a reason.
  2. No campaign needed as there aren't a bunch of doctors saying not to worry about it as you aren't likely to catch the flu, etc, etc. In fact it's the opposite; we hear about flu shots and preventative measures all the time.
  3. Yes I do. My daughter was admitted to Children's hospital during her first week of life because she caught MRSA at the hospital upon her first check up like 2 days after she was born! I got it 3 times as a result and we now have a house full of white towels because we bleached and still do all of them regularly. My point is however, I don't buy the bullshit about Ebola not being so contagious. If they said that same shit about MRSA I'll call BS there too.
  4. ^^ that's one I use too. Solid. I have mine bolted to the bottom of my nightstand inside the door/cabinet.
  5. I get that, but then everyone touches everything. Dude with Ebola gets on a subway and you bet your ass someone is likely to touch the same shit he touched and getting the creeping crud. I don't care of you can get the flu by simply airborne breathing of crud and with Ebola it requires a touch....still not as "safe" of an issue as the media makes it out to be by stating there's nothing to worry about. I call BS.
  6. and the above is why I said the US is way too laxed about who they let come here. there's no reason some Joe-Nobody from West Africa should just be allowed over here.
  7. I use several but also have my own. I love and use the hell out of my WD Cloud set up. 16TB system set up for RAID and I can easily allow or block sharing. I also have 100GB of Google storage One drive by Microsoft too. I'm goofy and use the above two for different things.
  8. I fly all the time and I don't care what people say about how you catch it. I'm not at all interested in being around people coughs and sneezes if someone has Ebola. Bullshit it's not catchy or that it's more difficult to get Ebola than the common flu. Again, if it was they wouldn't hazmat suit everyone involved.
  9. Nope. I for one think the US has way too laxed policies when it comes to just anyone coming and going across our borders and does little about it. The gov't needs to put the screws to anyone coming from infected areas and if they aren't needed here, tell them NO. Have family over there, visit them when Ebola isn't such a threat. Until then, send emails. Have a business, figure out another way. I can't imagine much in the way of business there is happening anyway. You're welcome to make those decisions but in this situation, I'd say you'll have to stay over there if you choose to go. At least until this shit calms down.
  10. Not sure if you're serious
  11. Get a good alarm. Monitoring is like $35-$45 per month. IMO get an exterior siren and strobe light on the front porch too. Well worth it. No one is going to stick around while sirens inside and out are going off and the strobe light is there to notify LEO and really is nice if you have a need for fire or medics. Keep the exterior well lit too. CFL's cost pennies to run anymore. Our house is lit up like the Capital Building at night. Motion lights with damn bright flood lights will add to the charm if you walk near it too. Lastly, motion sensors carefully positioned will give you a heads up when someone is near. Ours go off with 1-4 chimes like a door bell depending on which zone you set off. Dogs will go crazy, I will prepare, motion lights will come on and the rest will get interesting if a door or window gets hit. IMO, if you aren't going to kill an intruder then don't get a gun. Others will chime in I'm sure, but you don't pull a gun to scare someone and you don't shoot to injure. For home defense, a 12 or 20 gauge is ideal. Keep the pellet/BB guns away and use them for varments and target plinking fun. Call / PM Joe, get your CCL training and talk to him about firing one of his many guns while there. In the mean time, pick up a couple cans of Fox 5.1 pepper spray.
  12. Likely will take him up on the $200 if it's for AT&T network.
  13. Will come back to you. Is it AT&T? Still looking to see if there's a 5s out there for sale. Bump
  14. HaHa on the radio message Looks good man.
  15. I use it to demo our blue blocking technology in optical lenses. Works great. Interestingly enough, my dogs don't pay it any attention. They must not be able to see much in the wavelength it's geared towards. One totally ignores it, the other seems to see something slightly but still no interest. Red however, they are all over and love playing with. Agree. I'm in optics so well aware. Would like to get with you on this at some point in the near future so we can compare what we have now vs yours.
  16. How about a laser pointer that outputs 100nm-400nm blue light? I have one now that runs off 2AA's and it works well for my need but it's priced at about $25. Also wouldn't mind a stronger UV light to activate photochromatic glasses aka Transitions Lenses. The small ones we use are weak and take a minute to really darken the lens. something more powerful available?
  17. Pretty cool stuff. Way more than my brain can handle. My main wish around flashlights is my kids don't drain the batteries in my flashlights
  18. My old 4s that my son has been using is gradually failing. The power button collapst today, the up volume button failed months ago and thus I'm going to be upgrading my wife's phone to the new 6 if possible and giving him her old 4s. HOWEVER, if anyone has a 4s or 5 or 5s, etc. for sale, it could likely save me some money. Let me know what you have. Thanks!
  19. I don't know that I would either. Keyboard talk is easy. However, I wouldn't be afraid of confronting them and if they had a weapon, I would defend myself and let the details get sorted out after. Thankfully no one has bothered our cars. could be because the lights on the front of our house are damn bright and the neighbor across the street has a motion light that picks up a lot of things so if you walk in our driveway it turns on and would likely make someone think they are looking out the windows. Dogs help too. Ours seem to always be sensitive to things and we do have motion sensors that go off causing them to bark. IMO better than cameras.
  20. should you decide to end the marriage, the above statement is most 99.9% certain to go in the trash. You'll either go through a disolution and agree to how the division of assets and debts will be or you'll enter a contested divorce and you'll fight over it, likely ending in a settlement or worse case a judge making the call for you both along the way. Believe me, it's not worth fighting about anything. Only the lawyers win there. Good for you guys and here's to hoping you never have to test the statements made.
  21. Nice car. Our neighbor has a Euro/Sport version or something to that effect. Always liked his ride.
  22. Saw that on Yahoo the other day. Definitely putting that on my shopping list. Would rock as a daily for sure.
  23. ^^ He's a salesman at heart that's why. ^^ this.
  24. just don't co-mingle it as doing so makes things more complicated. easiest thing is to put it in an investment with your name only. Yes/no. See my first point. You can eventually trace funds and seperate them, have interest accounted for an eventually separate it once again, but you'll likely spend more money doing so than what you'll get out of it. Depends on the amount. Correct. Your coworker is mistaken. Any and all money earned while married is joint, including retirement accounts, etc. Bottom line is when you're married, you're in a contract where everything occuring after is joint, debt and earnings. Doesn't matter if the wife works or stays home. She's entitled to half.
  25. Get in touch with Jordan at JET Auto. He's a member here on the board. He'll get you whatever you are looking at. /thread.
