  1. I'll bring the family for left overs. See you soon..... Nice!
  2. I've never driven one but I agree with your assessment if that's the case. Needs to be about the driver engagement and experience IMO. Still wish I had one and give the owner props for being different.
  3. That's still resulting in roughly 1/2 of my day being shot given drive times and interruption of my schedule. Even if the net cost to me over 3-5 yrs was $500 it still would be worth the time to fuck with it. It's a $100 ticket already. Pay the tax and move on. Spend that 1/2 day networking for better job if you can't afford it. Not only is my time more valuable but in reality if you're guilty, man up and own it already. Your hassle discount is a waste of public resources. Perhaps you feel that's okay but I accept my speeding if I'm guilty as my own responsibility to deal with and carry the cost of.
  4. because even 1/2 of a day of my time is worth 3-4x what that ticket costs. no thanks. DUI or reckless op, different story.
  5. Money would still be one of them. In his case, I read that even as a child he had a hard time dealing with confrontational situations and would 'enter into a character' to deal with things. He never got help for this and likely struggled to deal with depression, etc.
  6. yep. let's see if another drive pulls that same shit in the coming races.
  7. I saw the accident on my news alerts but didn't pay much attention until I went to a baseball game today with a friend and one of the players who is a Sheriff was on-scene and said it was a guy in a Viper who hit the wires that prevent cross-over into oncoming traffic. I didn't get a chance to ask too much detail but was wondering if anyone here heard about it? http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2014/08/09/dublin-ohio-fatal-crash-closes-dublin-highway.html
  8. ^^ spot on and need re-read by all. You can't judge anything from that video other than what car hit him.
  9. Looks like some type of crab or funky grass...aka not KY Blue or fescue. Shit comes on typically in summer like it is now. Thankfully we've not had a hot summer and the rest of the lawn is decent otherwise it will take over any bare spots. They sell all kinds of killers for this stuff and they work well. Just beware that after you'll want to rake it out and top-dress it with some soil. Scotts seed for sunny areas works amazing. Looks great and comes in fast.
  10. I know you're mad/frustrated and I'm going to likely piss you off, but it's CR, relax and take the following with a grain of salt. You were likely speeding. Even you know it. Slowed down, moved left to pass, etc....80 or not, you got busted. Shit happens. That cops not likely out to make shit up. Especially if you as you say you weren't over 70mph. A bored cop wouldn't bust you for 70 in a 65. He could easily just wait 3 minutes and bag another guy going 80mph. In that area that spot and those cops are there all the time. Know your route and keep an eye out. I drive there all the time you might not and that I understand. Still, that areas been a trap zone for 25+ yrs, / since I can remember. You signaled and pulled over? May as well admit you're guilty. $100 and 2pts is nothing. Seriously. If my next ticket could be gauranteed to be that easy, I'd pay it in advance right now. Carry on.
  11. His first mistake was at :42 His second mistake occurred every time he moved his mouth. Will wait for back-story.
  12. A buyer/sucker willing to pay nearly 2x book value for a car that's hard to find makes it worth more but only to a select few that would pay that much. No dog in this discussion, just had to toss in my nickle.
  13. I'm married to a lawyer and have no balls to bust IMO 10-12 is still way too high. Book values don't buy/sell cars but that's still too high. He's also pinning himself down to someone with more cash in hand as a bank isn't going to loan much towards that type of purchase. That's why he's apparently fending off trades in his ad. People are probably trying to counter the lack of cash in hand. Likely younger buyers. Most with cash in hand for that will build their own or buy something of better value. Hard to find is cool and insurance co's will take that in mind at times but not on a car like this. 5spd V6 Accord Sedans were hard to find too when offered, but they aren't rare and worth more because of it.
  14. Vintage. Those days were fun auto shows to go to. Side note, someone needs to tell that guy to stop over processing images and not to use them in sale ads. It's a clean car, but the images are highly processed and edited.
  15. He deserves it. Mike did the minor work on my MS3 and matched the pearl paint perfectly. I actually got his name and the dealership from PPG who said they are the go-to place for Tricolor paints like this. Mike then had the guys detail and buff out my entire car as I hadn't done it yet for spring that year. Looked amazing when I got it back. Side note: He's Kevin Cliffords Cousin
  16. I know. Not saying take advantage. Just consider your loss which is more than just the car which is all they are going to look at. IMO you spent time & money getting it prepared like you want, will spend time jerking around with it going forward, changing your CR Screen name, signature etc. It's not a simple list. I look at all that as me being made whole. YMMV.
  17. Ding Ding. Might just be worth the play. Hell, everyone else does. My sister in law got a huge check when she had an accident years back. She did get hurt though but not seriously.
  18. IMO that seller is on crack trying to get 14k+ for that one. WOW! 2004 with 123k miles? modded? WOW! Who knows, he'll probably get it....
  19. The latter of the two still kinda sucks really....but depending on what they give you for it, it might at least be an option. What do you think you'll get? $15k?
  20. I'd take it to Mike over at Lincoln Merc. on Billingsley. He will get it totalled out, and fix it up for you like brand new. Great team there and they do the work in-house. Buy it as a salvage title and use the money left to put a snail on it. 95% serious. He'll tell you what's possible. Ask him about his nice C6
  21. A buddy of mine just did this with his Saab SUV (6.2l version). Go the vehicle for dirty pennies from the insurance co., bought a new front clip, used it to replace his, kept his motor, sold the other one and had the vehicle painted like new. Kept the big fat check from the insurance co. and ended up putting it down on a new MBZ SUV.
  22. WOW! Looks like everyone is okay though....and that's what counts. $5 says she was just looking up a phone number :dumb: Not that it matters. I cringe every day seeing people looking at their phones while cruising 270 in traffic. Everyone does it at some point, but I'm just saying, it's usually younger girls I see doing it more. Perhaps because I'm not looking at dudes in cars though :gabe: There's something to be said for Bluetooth and full hands free. I use mine all the time.
