Monica Durban is still trying to pass this street racing bill

IMO if you're guilty of DUI you the state should take your vehicle. Can't drive drunk if you don't have a vehicle. Don't like that answer then don't drink and drive. -

What you are charged with is pretty much always up to the discretion of the LEO. How is this any different when it comes to you being nailed for street racing or you being nailed for speeding or charged with reckless op? All of those have boundaries and room for interpretation. Don't like it, fight it in court. Your encounter with an LEO isn't a trial. Even the case in point the other driver (a member of CR) wasn't found guilty of street racing. Don't hate on Monica for pushing a bill like this, blame those that put her there and others doing the same or driving like fuck-sticks for forcing the card. Own it man, if you've ever played race-me on the freeway with another car (we all pretty much have) then you're part of the problem. Rare instance but would you be surprised that it has happened to me too? February 2006, find the post here on CR. I had to fight a reckless op ticket on my way home from the airport because the cop said I was part of a string of other cars racing down the road. I face a 6pt reckless op ticket and thus would have lost my company car. Was I pissed, sure. However a $500 lawyer and 1hr in court and it was a non issue. Sucks that my wife and I and five Ben Franklins got involved, but the same shit happens every day when knuckleheads cost others their deductible for rear ending them. Once the facts are put in place odds are good you will not be held liable for something you were shown to not be doing. There will always be exceptions, nothing is B&W and you can't go around not putting laws in place because of it. I think it's pretty clear given the instances like hers and others that the penalties aren't steep enough to deter the behavior. How are cops not kept in check anymore? What's changed within the legal system to warrant your use of the word "anymore". Please share. Again, you're not found guilty on the side of the road with three other cars. Each has their day in court. IIRC you supported Obama and the Democrats.....aka big gov't. You're just getting what you voted for. Ted Celeste has been an asshole Dem for decades, sucked as governor and even tried to push to end the death penalty. He's also supported fucking you and all the middle class with Obamacare. Enjoy what you brought upon yourself this law included. Hell the LEO Unions have to insure their pensions are paid for. Selling off hot rods and expensive cars will go a long way in helping. -

I highlighted about the single most important point noted. IMO it's one of the few things today's media, including social media is good for; getting her story out. Like it or not, her life is changed forever due to poor decisions of others and some would say laws that don't carry much punch. Scott, even you said you will over steer and have fun and are willing to take the lumps. Their point is if you're willing to do that, then perhaps the lumps aren't deterring you enough. The fact that you're bringing it up says they are closer. As they say, don't play if you can't pay. Just keeping it real. I give her and her family credit for doing something. Too many talk and do nothing. Put it in perspective the next time we read about someone here rant about a scratch on their pride and joy that in the end is just a fucking car. Didn't we just go through a thread that ripped apart efforts to do just that via checkpoints? Both situations are just as dangerous to the public in general. One might say street racing is as it typically involves more than one ass-hat whereby a drunk can only drive one car at at time. Besides, I also don't think the definition of "street racing" is just plain black and white from a stand still, etc....fuck the legal definition. I do think that ass-hat zigging through traffic at 5pm should be punished with more than just being reckless. Bullshit, typically they chase in pairs and are in fact racing.... Scott, they do....the officer's judgement on what to charge you with isn't the trial. It's an accusation. -

In the end a cop can say you were going 80mph and not clock you and instead rely on his ability to judge speed. Here is pretty much just the same. He's not fucking you 10x harder as in both cases you can fight it in court and given the penalties, you would most certainly want to. The intent is to curb ass-hat driving that yes, we are all guilty of doing. I followed this case pretty closely and while it hits home on CR it hits home with her every day. She was pretty messed up due to people doing the wrong thing. Suspected is a kind way of phrasing it and we all know it. -
WOW! Congrats. I was just thinking about this thread as I walked in and was greeted by our two.

Testing Waters as I'm interested in selling my winter set up as I have a DD'er and have put less than 10k on these tires since new as the MS3 stays in the garage and now has all seasons on her. I'll likely mount them in early December if they don't sell. Wheels: Easily fit RX8's or Mazda Speeds + Others 17" x 7" O.Z. Superleggera's 17lbs ea. 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern 45mm Offset Wheels are in great shape and just need a light cleaning. Zero curb marks, nothing...all perfectly straight and have very little to no weights and are balanced smoother than my stock ones. Can't say enough about them. The center caps are the only point that needs addressed. Someone stole my red lettered ones so I picked up a set of black ones used off ebay and they are not all perfect but it's only cosmetic. No cracks or chips, etc. Tires: 205/50/R17 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25's < 10k on them since purchased new at Discount Tire from Shanton and Crew. I bought the lifetime balance and road hazard and have the receipt. I'll pass his discount to me onto you as new through Tire Rack this set would cost you over $750 delivered. See link. I can't say enough about them. Handle excellent on any surface. You'll never know they are snow tires as they are quiet. Not a bit of squirm in corners and handle extremely well. I've had these in the worst of conditions in upper Michigan during 10" snow and the car plowed through it with no issues. Excellent on slush and ice here in Ohio. Asking $975 for Both but will entertain serious offers. Not out to change your opinion. I don't give you credit for being that flexible. Thanks for confirming. I'm sure you have done quite well. Liv'n large and in charge I'm sure. Race is irrelevant. Can't go there with me man I come from a pretty interracial family. Regarding tats I don't make the policy. Visible tats need covered at my employer. Wear long sleeves and you're fine. Part of the reason is because what you put on your body is irrelevant to the role. FWIW I have nothing against most tats and could care less if someone has any. Our policy at works stems from a belief that you live life by showing what you have done not by what you like to show to others. It's called humility. I cant tell you how many times i see people with Japanese tats yet have never lives in Japan or have a family tie to the culture. Same with military ones. Otherwise I usually am intrigued to hear the story behind them. Most large companies have a similar policy if you're customer facing. My guess is you're in a support role with most of your time behind a firewall than in front of C-level executives influencing their decisions. No photo ops here bud. Offered it for you to prove a point. Plus I like capturing the faces of those I help. Again would love to see those you've helped with the resources you've been able to provide. Time to quit playing the victim and yes, wash your ghetto off.

I'll be happy to post some pics if you doubt. Heading to NY this week. This work is part of my job as I work directly with the offices and docs providing the services. Let me know when you get back from doing the same or similar ever. I think I nailed it and am likely spot on with regards to your tats and attitude. Rock on 8 mile.

After seeing that hot chick with some horrible airbrush work in the NWS Section titled "who's this", I had to post up a more realistic edit that doesn't airbrush out skin texture. Kept it work safe. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/147255129/original.jpg

Took the kids to Highbanks today. It was so packed that they actually had set out signs that said "the park is full, come again later" never saw that before. It was crazy finding a spot to park. Had my camera but decided to make it an iPhone day. Just couple shots that I liked. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/147254580/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/147254582/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/147254579/original.jpg My Daughter having fun on our way out http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/147254581/original.jpg I can't wait to move to Oregon and build a home with a deck and walkway like this. We have the land and trees. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/147254578/original.jpg

I've seen assholes park close enough that the owners would likely need that to get the car out.

Anyone who didn't evacuate well in advance of Katrina actually landing has a few IQ points less than I feel comfortable being around if they also have a firearm. Needless to say what was shown in the video is BS.

$200k buys a lot more than just speed. Like things modifications to an STi can't add. -
My neighbor across the street has had two DUI's and wrecked both times. First he laid down my old motorcycle I sold him and ruined it. The other he took out my next door neighbors mailbox while coming home at 2am. I saw the immediate aftermath of him driving down the rest of the street dragging it under his car. The next day he had no clue what happened to the car and it wasn't until I pointed out he had Bill's mailbox under it that he might have a problem. :dumb:
