I see this post is being real productive.....

Need a white late model work van (about 1999 - 2001 or clean & older) with a clean body in the 3000 to 4500 range. Everything I am looking at on lots is a rusted banged up mess. Don't need shelves or partition. 6 cylinder would be nice. Any ideas would be appreciated. Has to be white so I can add vinyl advertising. Thanks. Ron

yes on membership and Friday only...
-
Go to the NASA site, join NASA for $45 (you have to join to participate in ANY NASA events) and sign on for HPDE 1 for Friday. Friday is the best day for rookies 'cause it has 1/2 the traffic of Sat and Sun. HPDE 1 requires an instructor in car, plenty of track and classroom time and a good introduction to the proper/fast way to drive Mid Ohio. HPDE 2 does not require an instructor but you need a day in HPDE 1 before you can sign on for HPDE 2. Hope that helps. Your Mini would be a great track car but make sure you are up on new/extra pads and hi temp brake fluid. ***Note to all interested in doing the April wekend... sign on NOW. The available slots fill up quick. Ron Ron

As far as class time... heres the deal. Drivers are grouped as HPDE 1, 2 3 and 4. For the most part, rookies will/should be in HPDE 1 the first day out. You can easily move to HPDE 2 the second day after you have some track time. You have a general drivers meeting each day at about 7:30/8AM, then you break down to classroom time. HPDE 1 and 2 usually lasts about 30 to 40 minutes, then off to the grid when called. Each track session is 20 minutes (four per day), then you regroup at the classroom for a Q&A, debrief and hand slapping if necessary. If you miss the debrief you don't go out the next session. Just a word to those that think they don't want an instructor or classtime... you should go into this as a sponge with an open mind wanting to learn everything you can. I know we all think we are big shots with our cars and never do anything wrong, but believe me, EVERYTHING you do if you don't have an instructor in the car will be wrong!!! They are there to teach you the proper line and how to go fast, and they know the track way better then you do. I've only been driving in NASA for a year but the learning curve is fast and safe. I ran a fully prepared 330 whp Griggs AI Mustang and still spun 4 times. I promise you your street suspension and stock brakes WILL scare the crap out of you. I'll try to answer any questions I can. See you in April. Ron

April 11, 12, 13 NASA event is up: https://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_event/show/?event_id=708 If you are interested in going, get a NASA membership and get signed up. HPDE 1 and 2 spots go quick. Most fun you can have with your pants on... Dan doesn't know yet but I'm taking his 5.0. Ron

Run a NASA (nasaproracing.com) HPDE - join NASA $45 yearly but includes a kick ass monthly magazine Run a SCCA school - have to be a SCCA member

Agreed, easy round trip, maybe 150 total miles max from Columbus. Mid Ohio is the best kept secret for geting close to race cars. Only a little more then an hour north of Columbus, beautiful rolling hills road course, most pits are OPEN for all but big buck pro weekends. If you haven't been there you are missing a huge opportunity to watch great racing and check out the cars up close. Find the NASA and SCCA race weekend schedules for good times to go... oh, it's free! Ron

My suggestion... don't even think about a private rental at Mid Ohio. You (we) can't aford it, you (we) don't have insurance, you (we) don't have the manpower or safety vehicles and most important of all is this is NOT an easy event to run. People can get killed. IF we want to go to Mid Ohio I suggest the NASA route. Their 08 schedule is 3 - 3 day weekends. April 11-13 w/ a 3 hour enduro, July 11-13 and August 15-17. See NASA at http://www.nasaproracing.com I ran HPDE 1 & 2 in a AI Mustang all three weekends last year and all I can say is this is the most organized, stay on schedule, SAFE events I have attended. On track will blow your mind!!! Actual costs might change for 08 but I found my July receipts. (In addition you have to join NASA for another $45.00) You can register for just Friday or just Saturday and Sunday or all 3. You can not register for just Saturday OR Sunday. I guess you could but the price is the same. Friday only - $150.00, Saturday and Sunday - additional $319.00. NO group rates. You get 4 20 minute sessions and a critique meeting for about 30 minutes after each session. You will learn ALOT. Friday has 1/2 the traffic of Sat/Sun. 4 20 minute sessions is only 1:20 on track per day... but the experience is unreal. You might think 1:20 isn't enough but believe me... your car will take a beating if you try to drive it hard for that amount of time. If you just want to go out and drive at 70 or 80 and not really learn how to drive Mid Ohio the right way then it might not be enough time for you. Either way You WILL want to come back for more. What you need for HPDE 1... (yes you WILL have an instructor with you but believe me... you NEED him and he's not going to slow you down at all!!!) decent tires, new hi temp brake fluid, new and extra set pads and NO leaking fluid. If you stay for more then Friday, register your second day as HPDE 2. A bit more agressive then 1. Thats it. I'll help if I can. Ron roneisner@msn.com

Thanks for the reminder. I decided to give it to Mike Ward to do the swap. Mikes works on my sons 89 and always does great work at a fair price. I'm in a leg cast and just don't want to bother with trying to make everything work. Thanks, I'll let you know how it turns out. Ron

I am thinking about doing this. I would like to talk to you, sent you a PM. I have a lift and tools. Thanks, Ron

Thanks pal, I talked to D&D in MI and they have the kit. The T45 complete with EVERYTHING less pedal assembly is about $2800. I think a rebuild on the auto would be about 1500 to 2 grand so this might happen this summer when it goes away. Love the Sumos in this weather, and they look awesome! Thanks. Ron

I have a sweet black on black 4.6 97 GT vert with new paint, riser, Cobras, top and interior. Original plan was to get it in shape to sell it but it looks too good now and I want to keep it. Thinking hard on a 5 speed. Whats the deal on the swap. I know I'll need pedals (probably available from another stanger) and have to buy a trans, clutch, flywheel etc... but what else is involved? Anybody been through this... any idea of cost? The auto is getting old and is starting the vibrating on shifts so it won't be long now. Any help would be appreciated. If you have any of the parts I'll need please post here or send info to: roneisner@msn.com Thanks.

Done!

Just looking for someone that can get this done and make some cash. Can we keep the posts on topic please. Thanks.

Looking for professional with equipment for an hour or two OR or a couple college or hard working guys to spend three or four hours to rake my yard. Looks like a break in the weather and I have to get it done. Can dump everything in the field behind the house. $12.50 an hour each or $100 for anyone with equipment to get it done faster. Cash paid upon completion. Bring your own equipment, rakes or/and blowers. House in Huntington Hills, Pickerington. Call me. Thanks! Ron 638-3938

Next week works, thanks for trying to help me out. On going racing... come on over and check out my AI Mustang. I was at your place to look at your Cobra last year so I know you like Mustangs. Great class with plenty of competition. Mid Ohio is a blast and really fast. It's nice to have such a cool track so close to home. Later, Ron

93 gt vibrates. Wheels are balanced and straight
AI Coupe replied to Ramsey's topic in Tech and Tips
4 bolts out & drop, fit the new shaft, slip in the yoke & replace 4 bolts. DONE! Unless your bushings are really bad, as in almost gone, I don't see this as a fix for vibration. Ron -

Same problem... EZ fix. Alumnium shaft at Jegs, usually in stock. Ron -
Thanks Jeff and I knew that. If you or someone that you know would be interested in the job you would probably do it in an hour or two with the right equipment (lawn blower or sit down with a mulcher or whatever...), and I would still pay the $100. The yards not that big. I think thats fair. But since I didn't know anyone that could do that I figured the college kid route (remember when they needed money this time of year) would work. If it doesn't get done today any decent day is OK with me. Are you still building Cobras? Thanks, any help would be appreciated. Ron cell 614-638-3938
