  1. There is a nice 2000 SV650 for sale on CL and it looks like it's Hoblicks, 88lx5oh on here. Only thing is it's carb'd and something I'd suggest staying away from, especially on the SV. They like to get gummed up over winter. Your first bike you WILL drop. I did it once already so looking at something with minimal to no plastics is a good idea. Most people don't like the look but you can't see what your bike looks like when you're riding on it either way. You may get bored of the SV or a smaller bike in the straight real quick but on the twisty roads you won't be using the bikes entire potential for a while anyway and that's where you'll want the bike to be more forgiving. From all this I would say to stay away from the 600 I4 and up for your first bike, regardless of what your friends say or others may think. Some do and some don't. Lastly PAY ATTENTION TO INSURANCE RATES! Full coverage for me on a 600 I4 was outrageous! With my V-Twin I pay 50 dollars less per month for FULL COVERAGE than I do having bare minimum liability on my 96 4cyl Accord. Set aside at least 500 for gear at a bare minimum. Always wear your gear. You need to dress for the fall and not the ride. I skimp on the pants and that's a risk I take every time I go out but I'm investing in some leather pants or a one piece soon for the more spirited rides. You ARE INVISIBLE to everyone else on the road when you're on a bike. Understand where peoples blind spots are, watch your mirrors but never trust them. Don't let family fears of you falling or any of that make your decision on getting a bike. Unless they have grown up riding they probably won't be to fond of the idea and will give you the handbook on all the dangers as to why you shouldn't ride. Take them to note, riding isn't for everyone.
  2. I don't follow UFC at all, I have zero interest in it. But I'm a bandwagon fan I guess? I like watching Kimbo fight. Probably the only reason he's in the UFC is so people like me will watch from time to time.
  3. "It’s a 5-speed, so your kid can’t talk on his cell phone while playing Gameboy and smoking pot." Awesome quote. If I ever sell cars I will use this as a selling point.
  4. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60154 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74656 I went with an SV650 for my first bike and it was a great decision. Has kept me out of trouble a few times but still allows me to have plenty of fun with it. After riding now, I'm extremely happy I stayed away from the 250 because I feel I would have been super super super bored with it after a month and would be looking to jump up immediately but I put 3k miles on my bike in 2 1/2 months. I was literally out everyday I could be after class/ work for as long as I could.
  5. There was an article about it that I read. I've seen bums get handed over 50 dollars within 2 minutes of just standing at a freeway exit before.
  6. Some people will park their Mercedez a few blocks down the street and go pan handle and go home with a few hundred dollars in change every night. I once had a guy do a standing back flip on ice for a quarter one time. If you can't do something like that you don't deserve my money.
  7. "You guys sell any hollow pyrex glass that's kind of like a straw and 6 inches long?" Crack heads are coming out is what this phone call tells me. We had all sorts of these people you are talking about up at Speedway on Brice and Livingston. These people need their fix and they'll do some crazy shit to get money so be careful.
  8. Busa and Hocking don't even seem like they would mix well together, especially a lowered one. Maybe keep the RR for hocking and a Busa for the straight line rides.
  9. Go to their shop, if nothing is resolved bring it up here. Obviously in your mind they're doing business wrong and people should know about what's going on so they don't get tangled up in a similar situation.
  10. Place of work to be nice about it then court.
  11. FYI most veal isn't baby cow anymore. If you never let a cow lay down while it's growing up it tastes very similar to veal and they have a lot more of it.
  12. So another question would be if I called around who should I call? Would this effect my moms insurance rates as well not having as many vehicles on her policy?
  13. I've actually seen the remnants of a cow being hit out here in Pataskala before in the middle of E. Broad. Isn't very cool.
  14. I'm not even 20 yet, so I'm assuming that having my own plan would be equivalent to being raped in the ass.
  15. Guy on OR had a 167 in a 65... Must have been a plane.
  16. I'm on Farmers and I know they directly don't cover my bike, but a side company of theirs does or something like that.
  17. I hated the way jeeps felt when I drove them which gave me a bad taste for SUV's. Then I drove an Expedition and fell in love with SUV's. But the jeeps have bulletproof bottom ends.
  18. I'm on my moms, so it's her car (Shes only driver) My car (I'm only driver) My bike (I'm only driver) plus home insurance is on it as well. We won't be switching companies out of any of this. I'm just asking for personal knowledge on what's to come this July when my accident falls off my insurance record and possibly add 2 more points that's not from an accident. So even if I have the same amount of points but none are accidents will I be paying the same or will I see a minor drop. Also, my bike insurance will drop soon even more once I go through MSF. I'll be paying 60 more per month for my car than my bike at that point.
  19. Do accidents effect your insurance rates significantly more than other violations? (Stop signs, speeding, etc..) I'm paying more money for liability only on my POS 1.5k accord than I do on my bike which I have full coverage on, and it's by a goooood amount. Plus my bike is worth over double what my car is worth. I know part of that is the fact that to them I use my car more so it's more likely I'll be in a wreck on that then the bike.
  20. Getting kids ready for Thirsty Thursdays already.
  21. Title says it. Looking for a friend of mine. 800 is the ideal price but can come up with more depending on what kind of work needs done to it. We're expecting work to be needed. Valve Clearance Check won't be a problem he says. Let me know if you've got something or have seen something. Thanks, Ryan
  22. This. Get used to seeing it. Every Wed there will be a BIKER GANG! :bangbang:
  23. 10 grand would go to a new bike and car. 20k would go to school/ stocks/ CD.
