  1. i could care less what you were 'raised around'. just because people around you had muscle cars doesn't mean you have a clue about the history of a certain car. my dad had a '67 vette, a '69 vette, and currently owns a '72 stingray 454 vette with 6,000 miles--i guess that makes me an expert on vintage vettes, since i was practically raised around them. and the correct word is YOU'RE, not YOUR. example: You're (you are) a prick. verses Your piece of shit honda. this is true, i was a bit harsh about the whole bukake comment--i apologize. i just love it when someone critiques the hell out of a car, and they drive a piece of shit. tell me you wouldn't trade your honda straight up for the car linked at the beginning of this thread.
  2. the inspiration comes from the thought that if you're not doing what you want to do in life right now, its not too late to turn things around, go out and do something that's a little more interesting than working like a slave in a fucking cubicle. once you go out and travel a bit out of this country, you realize just how incredible this guy's experiences have probably been.
  3. stop driving like a maniac. plenty of cars that actually came with that bumper from the factory do not have the same problem, and many of them are lowered as well. i'd leave the bumper on your car even though its not a cobra--it looks too nice to downgrade to a GT bumper
  4. that's because you probably work at burger king, you clueless bukake receptacle. the recent remake of the GTO is pretty much EXACTLY what the original was, and more. the original was a rather plain-looking sedan with an incredible drivetrain. the current version is also a rather plain looking design with an incredible drivetrain. the car has unbelievable manners when you want to drive it on long trips, or very conservatively. i averaged 25-26 MPG when i bought mine and drove it home from wisconsin. i bought mine with 10k miles on the clock for just over $21k (they can be had for nothing, considering what you get). the interior is very comfortable, and unlike any other pontiac or GM car that i've been in. of course they're a bit heavy, but they respond to mods just as well as vettes do. you're probably just pissed that your buddy never let you drive his.
  5. yeah, but 5.0's are getting pretty old, and if you don't buy a pristine one, you will be chasing stupid reliability issues and completely worn out parts/body forever. buy a newer one, and strap on a blower and go. 5.0's will nickle and dime the shit out of you. sure, they CAN BE cheap, but they can also be frustrating if you're replacing parts constantly on a 15 year old car.

    Waazup

sean, this is truly a horrible introduction. yes, there are cobras here, and there are also fobras here, so look out--but it appears you're not even from columbus?? so i guess it does not even matter

    I Broke Down

good to hear hal. can't wait to see your numbers. and to all the ford comments about reliability/etc., my car has never left me stranded, never had one reliability issue at all, has every single component intact and working from the factory, stock clutch/tranny/rear end, and made over 600rwhp on brian's dyno--and i've had the big blower on the car for almost 2 years. these cars were built for big boost, and big abuse (within reason). carry on.

    Noob

i recommend making this a sticky on how NOT to make an introduction ---trying to mod a 211,000 mile import ---bitching, arguing, and basically being a bitch in general ---horrible grammar, sentence structure, etc. ---claiming you own a 9 second VW bug ---calling out an established member to race with said bug ---lying about said 9 second car ---trying unsuccessfully to recover from said lie, the next day ---complete failure
  9. +1000 lucky you aren't married or don't have a family---very stupid decision to go there without even knowing who your friend was going to confront, or why. and then charging someone with a loaded gun???---insane, absolutely insane. you can't predict whether someone is going to pull the trigger or not. use your head next time, and avoid the situation entirely--you'll live a lot longer.
  10. 28k is pretty high for a WBC count, for just cellulitis. i don't work at st. anne's anymore. get this, if i get blood work done, i'm not allowed to look at my own results, even though i'm a physician, and work at the hospital--its a HIPAA violation!!!
  11. my car was very quiet until i added a midpipe. i had over 550rwhp going through stock headers, and cats/resonators--just a catback also, stop stalking people---if someone 'leads' you through a neighborhood, most likely they are not looking for a race--DUH!!!
  12. looks great. time to turn up the boost!!
  13. maaco, where they pretty much paint your car with a broom
  14. eh, she looks pretty good from the angle of the photo posted. i'd bet her something other than money that i could walk her, if i were the original poster
  15. for whatever reason, my $39 harbor freight 1/2" corded electric impact wrench has lasted 7 years without a single problem---i'd say i've gotten the most usage out of it- other than that, i pretty much have 2 complete sets of craftsman tools, and really like their ergonomic crossforce ratcheting wrenches.
  16. even ricers own fast cars, and domestic V8's as well---its a mentality
  17. its a terrible feeling-- hope they catch the bastards
  18. yeah, i assumed he was building a mid/low 11 second car.
  19. not a bad looking car at all. sometimes i still miss my '90 grand prix---its got 153k miles and is still running. i gave it to my grandpa
  20. don't build a car around the motor from a '96 GT. as far as mustangs go, '96-98 4.6 liter V-8's are the weakest mustangs since 1984. seriously, a brand new V-6 mustang would be a great race for a '96-98 mustang GT. i guess if you're doing it for a 16 year old kid, and want to keep him out of too much trouble, that might be a good idea
