  1. pics of car please. i'm a 'closet' mach lover.
  2. what are you, a fucking physicist or something?? oh wait, i just checked your sig, and it says you're 21--never mind. let me put it to you this way: 1) driving GTO with normal factory headlights--difficult to see things on the road at night (street signs, people on the side of the road, etc. etc.) 2) adjust beams of factory headlights to aim a bit higher (at the suggestion of members of ls1gto.com, who fully admit and are aware that the stock headlights suck)--a little bit better, but still shitty (free mod) 3) swap in slightly higher output bulbs (actually, these bulbs are the same as the ones in the "high beam" housing) and shut off the daytime running lights so as not to burn the bulbs out prematurely--again, at the suggestion of the gto site. somewhat improved, i'm actually happy with the outcome, and willing to let things be. ($15 mod) BUT............. 4) group buy comes across the site (ls1gto.com) from an established vendor for HID kits with a lifetime warranty, and a harness included to provide extra power from the battery so that the lights don't occasionally 'flicker', which can happen with 'non-factory' high output headlights. kit was $200 (in other words relatively cheap for me), easy to install, and provided the car with absolute blinding light. i can see all the fucking way down my street at night now. and i drive the car at times when there's not too many people on the road. so to answer your question, the bulbs and light output are far, far superior to the factory units.
  3. uhaul won't let you tow car trailers with certain vehicles, like our explorer. i'm renting two 17' uhauls and car trailers to move in a few weeks. for a 17' uhaul and a trailer to florida, they quoted us around $700. i checked penske, and budget, and uhaul has the best price. if you get the smallest moving truck (10', i think), and the trailer, you will most likely pay considerably less.
  4. i've got HID kits in my cobra and GTO. the GTO's are amazingly bright--my brother was driving behind me in the car and i realized how damn bright they are--holy shit. who gives a shit about glare and other drivers on the road, they're bright as fuck, and i can see twice as far in front of me when driving at night.
  5. adjustable cables are definitely not advised on cobras, as they've been shown many times to stretch out, rather quickly. i think you mean "firewall adjuster and quadrant". those don't fix everything. my car has a firewall adjuster and an aftermarket quadrant (with the stock clutch), and the shifting is still not perfect. after changing the tranny fluid this weekend, things are a bit improved, but not perfect.
  6. i saw what i thought was your car trailered heading north on 270 around east broad this morning around 8 am--i'm guessing it was your car. nice times, that thing absolutely moves out
  7. too much risk involved for me to street race. kids/wife/job/etc. i may indulge in the occasional spontaneous roll on the freeway, but not to excessive speeds, and never when there are others on the road nearby. once you have kids (planned pregnancies, with kids/wife that you care about), you'll understand. when i go to meets, i enjoy looking at everyones' cars, and just shooting the shit.
  8. +1 on the kroger's egg boxes--decent size and very easy to use. i got tons from the in-laws who just moved
  9. if the sale doesn't work out, you can film a porno inside the car with the red interior
  10. wow, e-racing with other peoples' cars and talking shit to people (about a car you're claiming you're going to buy)---this thread has everything i ever dreamed of. or, it just reminds me of high school. that's all, kirk
  11. sorry, but since this is not in the "for sale" section, and open to comment, your price is way, way too high. some higher mileage '03 cobras have dipped below $20k, and as stated, you can get mach's all day long for $18k. 61k miles is also a lot for a rwd sports car in ohio. good luck, though--but i bet you may end up upside-down in this one
  12. i usually get a box of 6 quarts from sam's club when we go there--$27, i believe maybe i'll have to stop by advanced
  13. i would say keep it--unless you absolutely have to sell for financial reasons. did you plan on selling it before you cracked the front plate??? so many times people put ridiculous time and effort into a car, and hit "the straw that breaks the camel's back" and decide to sell. if its such an easy fix, just let the car sit for a while, cool your emotions down, and fix it in a few weeks. 9 years ago, when i decided to do a huge rebuild on my '87 GT in my sig (new shortblock, ported heads, cam, intake, suspension, tranny, clutch, etc, etc.), i spent every second of my free time that summer working on the car. went to fire it up and had no oil pressure. i was in absolute tears, ready to sell the car for next to nothing. i let it sit for a few weeks, and then got it up and running with very little work (new oil pump). it sits in my garage, and i can't imagine parting with it.
  14. just don't change anything on the exterior---it looks absolutely perfect, the color, stock body panels, and wingless rear completely set this car off.
  15. the cobra definitely needs detailed. part of the problem was that the roads were a bit wet, and we had to towel the car down on site, so its not as clean as it could be. black is such a bitch to keep clean
  16. glad to hear everything worked out.
  17. lookin good. just got some pics taken of my cars last night that i'll have to post when i get them.
  18. +1000 we almost rented one when we went house-hunting in tampa a month ago, but we decided to bring our girls, and rented an H3 (which is perhaps, one of the more pathetic excuses for an SUV by the way). they had a few in their garage, totally waxxed out, and clean looking---verts. both i saw were autos. the shelby mustang GTH rental ones were flogged by MM&FF at the dragstrip a while back when they first came out--you cannot shut the traction control off on those cars, and there's all kinds of 'tamper-proof' shit in the engine bay, that will tell them if you did anything other than pop the hood and stare. i think its a great idea, actually. people won't beat on them any more than you would a regular rental.
  19. 200mph in a 15 year old (at least) fox body car on the street with other cars on the road two fast cars for sure
  20. i would take $500 worth of parts off the car--i fucking hate scammers
  21. great pics?? you'd be better off drawing a picture of them.
