  1. ah, that's pretty funny. good to know that the mustang crowd is out in force.
  2. i've heard the GTO's are difficult to launch with their tires. that's something i'm used to with my cobra (i still have the stock tires on the car). i need drag radials badly. to the previous poster, i may check out Roby automotive, but i'm not looking to buy the car at this time--i just want to look one over--and feel how it drives--but who knows, that's what i said about my cobra when i bought it (i should say the wife let me buy it) on a whim.
  3. same place, same story. drove up in the '05 eddie bauer explorer. we were going to dinner, so we were wearing nicer clothes. they had 2 of them--a black one, and a red one. the salesman actually tried to tell me some guy bought one last week at MSRP!--i hate it when people try to blow smoke up my ass. i've been a mustang fan for a while, and thought i'd go for a change, since i'm not the biggest fan of the new body style--and the GTO seems the best vehicle with an LS motor to suit my needs (daily driver)
  4. thanks for the welcome guys. i've lived in columbus for 8 years now, owned my '87 for 11 years, the '04 since it was new, and i just find out about the site this year!!
  5. i actually like the way they look, and of course the powertrain is magnificent. this will be a daily driver, no major mods for now (intake, exhaust only), i have the cobra that is for mods, and weekend fun. i've heard the seats are great, and the salesman actually let me sit in the car, if you could believe that--what a dickhead. part of the reason he probably didn't let me drive it, was the fact that my wife was trying to talk me into a denali. regardless, i will hopefully be in the market next fall--i'm trying to eek out another 9 months from my '90 grand prix, which my wife now refuses to even ride in.
  6. thanks guys. neither of my mustangs are stock, but my '04 (when stock) would edge out a GTO. the point was that even if i owned a mustang GT, this dick wouldn't even let me finish my sentence before saying that the GTO would lay waste to both my cars--insulting someone is not a way to gain their business. you should have seen the look on his face when i handed him his card back. the thing that pissed me off the most was that my wife was slightly happy that i didn't get to test drive it--she wants me to get an SUV.
  7. i go through that area fairly often and have not seen it. where the hell did they sneak a wal mart in. that would be about the only wal-mart in the city that i could talk my wife into going to, because that's a pretty nice area as far as wal mart's go
  8. +1 i live in hilliard and can't remember EVER seeing anyone at that restaurant. occasionally they would have a cruise-in, but that was the most action that place ever saw
  9. hey guys, i'm just starting to do some research on GTO's. i'm looking to get one next fall, and i want an '05-06. i've heard people buying them brand new for around $25k. i went to the local pontiac dealership to look at/test drive one with my wife, and had a bad experience. the salesman was pretty annoying--first, he was a little inaccurate in describing the drivetrain--i didn't call him out, just told him i knew everything about the car's drivetrain, and was more interested in the interior specifications. he was treating me like some moron who had no idea what the car was, so i told him i had two mustangs at home--before i could finish the sentence, he told me this would smoke any mustang on the road. :asshole: he then told me that the price could go no lower than $29,500. the kicker was when i asked him if i could take it for a test drive, he told me that they treat these cars like corvettes, and don't let people test drive them if they're not going to buy them. the interaction ended with me giving him his card back, but not before telling him i was looking for a quick, comfortable daily driver, not a corvette, and that both my mustangs would beat the GTO. i'm still interested in getting one if i can talk the wife into it. so who's buying these cars new for $25k?? maybe i can find a low mileage '05 in a year for $20k?? sorry for the long winded vent, i can't stand going to dealerships and wasting my time.
  10. thanks for the welcome guys. i've seen linn and dr. z06 over on the svt website. i enjoy the occasional 20-40mph roll, but i also like to just cruise, go to car shows, and hang out. i look forward to hanging out with everyone when i bring the cars out of hibernation in may kirk
  11. hello all, finally got around to checking this site out and registering (i'm an SVTP.com junkie), and just saw the 1200hp supra. can't wait to get the stangs out of the garage this spring/summer, and go on some cruises. i'm not into the whole 2am street race for money scene, but like to hang out when i have time and just cruise my cars around town 30-40 miles at a time--do many people here get together for friendly cruises?? kirk
  12. that's crazy, the same thing happened to my buddy in his grand cherokee while parked at Mt. Carmel East hospital
