  2. thanks, i appreciate the offer, and i'll let you know kirk
  3. thanks guys. my brother knows just a little about computers, so he's looking into options right now. i will get a new desktop for sure, as this one is over 5 years old. i'll keep everyone informed. kirk
  4. thanks. i'm waiting on my brother to see if he can salvage anything on it
  5. i've bought the wife so much shit during the past 9 months its ridiculous---coach diaper bag, louis vuitton purse, jewelry, more jewelry, etc.
  6. we had a pretty bad storm last week, and as a result, my desktop computer won't start up at all. the computer was off during the storm, but plugged in. anyways, it just freezes on the microsoft screen, and then when you try to reset it, and start it in safe mode, or any other mode, it won't work. i don't care about the computer (i need a new one anyways), but i DO care about what was on it. is there any way to recover the files?? i heard you can take your computer to best buy, and they can recover everything for you for about $100?? any help would be appreciated, thanks kirk
  7. the mileage was written in pen on the tag that was attached to my key. that could have easily been done after they took the car out. they did not record the mileage as soon as i brought the car in. that is the first thing they should check and record, but i didn't see them do it.
  8. fair enough. hope you figure out what's wrong with it, and get it running strong
  9. wow that's terrible. RIP. i'm assuming the pictures posted were his work. they look incredible.
  10. i've had my GTO there 3 times since buying it, for warranty work. 1st--shifter knob broken, driver's seat motor not working 2nd--some oxidation on the inner seam of the hood was cleared up, and the underside of the hood repainted 3rd--plastic engine cover replaced, new key fob bought (since i only had one key) here's the good--they've fixed everything without question, honoring my warranty without concern or any problems here's the bad--every time i've taken the car there, it seems like 2 or 3 new scratches appear on the car. also, after my second repair there, i suspected the car had been driven, because i thought my average fuel economy had decreased, and i also thought my gas guage read less fuel when i picked the car up. and finally, yesterday, when i had the plastic cover put on and the new key programmed, i noticed i was down 1/8th of a tank, compared when i brought it in, and my average fuel economy was a full 1mpg less---there's only two ways this can happen. 1)if the car is idled for an hour or two, and 2)if someone rags the car out hard. i'm kicking myself for not recording the mileage when i dropped it off, but i was in a hurry. and the mileage they recorded was from 3 weeks ago, when i originally ordered the key. anyways, i spoke with the service manager, complained, and ended up leaving with nothing having been done. its impossible to prove anything, but i know what happened.

    discount tire

they stripped one of my wheel studs on my cobra (bad) but after i had it fixed by rob at lasota, the manager of discount tire payed for the repair---immediately, no questions asked (good). overall, its great to know that when a company messes up, they correct things without questions. i'm fully satisfied.
  12. welded my subframes up, they look great, and the car feels much more solid under hard acceleration. he also fixed my stripped wheel stud.
  13. congrats man. the wife and i recently put some cash down on 5.25 acres on lake michigan in wisconsin (i'll be moving there in 1.5 yrs). pretty sweet to look forward to building on that land, but i can only imagine how excited you are. congrats again.
  14. i'll be bringing the cobra, and the '87 if i can get my brother to drive it
  15. +1 sounds like a horrible daily driver
  16. now that's pretty funny right there
  17. not a big surprise. a 390 rwhp vette should easily handle a 440rwhp cobra. 440rwhp is about average for that combo, maybe a bit low--i made 450hp/486tq with a pulley/tune/K&N/catback great video by the way
  18. that car will be on my list
  19. that's fucked up. i probably would have done the exact thing. didn't they wonder how the fuck you had the keys, and the owner of the car was right behind you?? crazy, absolutely crazy
  20. can't make it tonight, hopefully i'll be out tomorrow in the cobra.
  21. in reality, the hamsting procedure and the bone-patellar tendon-bone procedure are both good, and have excellent track records---when done correctly. so it comes down to which way the surgeon was taught to do the surgery. the comment i made about the donor graft surgery is correct---it is mostly done to cut down on surgery time and difficulty associated with harvesting the patient's own tissue. i know of all the surgeons who have been mentioned and they are ALL very capable of doing an excellent ACL reconstruction. others to consider: Dr. Klingele (children's), Dr. Kaeding (OSU Football Dr.), Dr. Grant Jones (OSU b-ball Dr.), Dr. Steensen (Mt. carmel), Dr. Westerheide (Mt. Carmel)-----these are all master technicians when it comes to sports orthopedics, specifically the knee (Jones does a lot of shoulder too). as far as my background i'm currently in my last yr. of training in ortho surgery, and will be going to tampa to do a year of training in total joint replacement surgery, before i go into private practice. i don't claim to know everything, but i know a lot on the topic at hand. kirk
