  1. Damn it Rich, you will never be Carol.
  2. Congrats! I clicked in here expecting to see another CR minivan :dumb:
  3. If they dont have any grooves on them or any pulsating you can probably just throw the pads in.
  4. For a road trip it can be fun to plan out some stations. I once went to that puregas.org site and only stopped at Ethanol Free stations. It will tell you the grade that is offered at the stations as well...for example, if the 93 is ethanol free, but the 87 isnt. Figure out a few between here and there and you will know what to expect and even what you can plop into the GPS
  5. You wont have a problem finding 93. IF for any reason you are at some station with just 91 or something, there will likely be one across the street with 93.
  6. Very nice times! My buddy Brian often is out there in a silver E46 M3 with 'STUMP' on the fenders. I think he was chasing 1:46 and the video I watched of that looked insane. I cant imagine another 10 seconds off lol.
  7. Looks like they are directly down half way under the rings, aligned with the left and right of the rings
  8. We did go to Millers. Had a good time! Very windy though. Took the hay ride out to the field and grabbed a few pumpkins. Nice little country store too. Hop apple cider was amazing. Pumpkins were like 0.35 / lb. so pretty darn cheap.
  9. Nice thread timing!. We were just looking up patches for today, and decided to take a CR break. Leeds does look nice, but our little one may be too little to benefit. Millers Country Gardens up that way looks cool...corn maze. No admission is nice. http://www.millerscountrygardens.com/images/376_Miller_s_Fall_Events_Flyer_2015_Version_3.jpg
  10. Nice work!. I had 54K on my 09S when I ditched it but the clutch was perfectly fine far as I could tell. They really are pretty simple cars to work on except for being very crammed together!
  11. Its that offroad lift package so people can donk them out :dumb: http://www.messengerpuppet.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/500x_donk_amaro.jpg
  12. Hinderer Honda has a 24mo. lease on a Civic for 89/mo. + tax and fees + 3000 down. (So Ill round that to 140 (I have no idea)). Even if its 140/mo, they have a minimum trade in value of 4 grand. So that gives you 1000 to make a few payments with. If you were going to drop 400/mo you could take the 250 or whatever is "left" and save it, all the while driving a brand new car. Then after 2 yrs...do it again using some of the saved money down, or buy a slightly less beat 7-8K car. Someone correct me if Im way off here. The key would be sticking to SAVING the "leftover"...otherwise you are out a car and money after the 2 years
  13. 2x4s with proper ties to the foundation, "hurricane clips" that tie the wall to the trusses, wood sheathing (thicker the better) that is nailed appropriately to the sill plate and goes up properly to the top plates (at least 2) will be better than 2x6 or larger walls that are barely tacked together. It isnt about holding snow load and whatnot...it is about lateral forces like wind that create uplift ect...especially in that area...they seem to get those freak wind storms (I forget what they are called - not a tornado) every now and then that like to level garages. You could add sheathing inside at the corners for additional bracing. Even a diagonal 2X could help ease your concerns.
  14. As for the studs, if they are 9' 2x4 is fine. If they are over 9' they should be 2x6, but back in 93 that may not have been the norm. If it is all exposed inside, you could make sure the sill plates are affixed to the concrete or foundation properly with a pressure treated sill plate. If you are in any jurisdiction that isnt way out in BFE, the code compliance departments are pretty good....they tend to ensure things are built to code. If it shows up on the auditor site then they would have pulled necessary permits ect.
  15. Typically on a roof that has trusses at 24" o.c., there are no purlins, so they probably make up for it. OSB bridges the gaps just the same
  16. True bummer I feel like this is why many dont drive nice cars to work anymore. At least I never see any on 670...then again, I live downtown. I used to see all sorts of goodies on the east side coming up from 33.
  17. I just hit the undercarriage with a couple cans of Fluid Film. Good stuff.
  18. Yep...that bow wave is vital. Even if you make everything watertight water can get past axle seals just by cold water hitting the warm axles...That typically only happens if you get stuck and stop though. Key is to keep moving. I relocated the little breathers on my FJ as they are typically right on the axles and whatnot. Diffs, Transfer case, Trans, even the little e-locker on the rear has a breather. I ran them up higher to the inner fender. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/58CCAA63-6953-4E23-AF2F-1E16917F5699_zpst8yssnhy.jpg
  19. Would have been awesome to be in a vehicle with a CB as that went down. Strange he didnt just take the coned off lane on the side of the spectators...I assume that they had made it bi-directional on that one side.
