  1. So far so good. I dont really mind the steady light snows for a few days. The commute has slowed a little, but not as bad as when we'd get 3" during a day or one of them damned ice storms!
  2. x2! I know most of your guys' Vettes and Awdies probably are not equipped, but a CB goes a LONG way on the freeways. There are truckers everywhere and they call em all out, how many, at what mile, and where they are sitting. I was driving up to Cleveland yesterday and as I approach Ashland I hear "71 at Ashland, speed trap, 3 bears. A few more up at the 204 (Lodi area)" Sure enough they were patrolling hard in those spots. Granted, we all know the Ashland exit area is a trap most all the time..
  3. Thing moves out!. Latemodel bed looks like poo though.
  4. Just shop around. It is a pain, but saving a few hundo a year it worth the calls. I will always vote Esurance. Ive only had Allstate beat their price once in SC and Allstate sucks to deal with. Esurance is such a pleasure to work with.
  5. I wondered what those couple of new little cars were when I was at Toyota the other day. Must have been a last ditch effort for sales.
  6. I dont think I moved...I cant tell if I submitted or not. Past self did not post in the thread ;(
  7. WHEW. All except that brand new red Stang.... ouch
  8. x2 on tires. I put on Severe Snow rated Grabbers, and my old Mini Cooper on snow tires would run circles around this FJ...pending it didnt go too 'snow plow' and bury itself. A Subie on snows would be pretty unstoppable on any 'road'
  9. I have a 4WD FJ. It is 2WD all the time unless offroad or in some BAD slick stuff. Ill use the highway for example...sure if its covered in snow you might want 4WD...but "they say" 4WD is best under 45mph in this case and it also turns OFF the Vehicle Stability Control and maybe some other nannies for offroading so IMO its probably safer in 2WD. I think newer ones and especially the 4Runner may be different / better suited for actual 4WD in snow driving. Systems very within the same vehicle too. The manual FJs, in comparison are full-time 4WD (AWD?) with a center locking diff so a bit different and probably better for snow than the Automatic one like mine. decent explanation vid:
  10. They make dash cams (front and rear) that can automatically turn on with motion detection or vibration. May be a better investment..
  11. If its vibrating that bad and is the balancer...dont drive it. If that thing comes apart you are screwed.
  12. Assuming this is it... so beautiful http://www.sportscardigest.com/wp-content/gallery/hsr-daytona-historic-races-2011/11_0.jpg
  13. If it comes out I hope the real one has no B-pillar...but I doubt that is possible these days
  14. I had a door replaced and painted as well from a similar accident...it was $1200, so your coworker probably isnt far off.
  15. Is John Shroeck (however you spell it) still PDR'ing? He did a great job on a ding on my door...I still think a good one could get that out if its good and accessible.
  16. Yeah are you leaving soon? I dont think its something you can do yourself if you arent here, lol. It could be many many months to sell otherwise.
  17. Sounds like you just nutted up and did something about it. Much respect for you! I hope the new gig turns out to be enjoyable and worthwhile. From what I gather its a nice company to work for!
  18. Little bit of dirt from trails out near Danville yesterday.
  19. Sounds silly but man its super clean!!
  20. Ahh. well that is just bad business there. They need to take that down
  21. 520.88? http://raceconsultingagency.com/i-259590.aspx?gclid=Cj0KEQiAtri0BRDLoaCF95e7o_sBEiQA_pgRQyBFOQ3iH3zKKnMOKVj5R5OjiIDXNxj69CT5dZbiZvkaAvXn8P8HAQ
  22. 5K miles of what, burnouts? They are down to nothing...unless it all went when it was 'flat' somehow.
  23. I dont care if they are burning flags and turbin'ing it up out there. These guys are out in BFE having a circle jerk. The government isnt going to go out there and escalate it. Right now all theyve got is the media to try and keep poking us in the back of the head...hey...hey...hey...we're still here. Soon enough I think these whiny babies are going to have to walk on home...tired and hungry.
