I've been missing my DA/SA guns since I sold them all. This is about the size of a Glock 19, but holds 17rds, and FN gives you 3 mags to start. Carried it all day, and didn't notice it. Congrats on your purchase. The optic question is kind of a loaded one though, especially at such a low budget. I'd say spend the 150 on flip/back up irons, get good with them, and save for a better optic, that also fits your needs. For what it's worth my first AR came with a Bushnell TRS-25, which for a budget red-dot, is very decent, and holds it's zero. I think those tend to be around 90 bucks. If you want magnification, a bit more cash will get you a decent Nikon, or Vortex. Just my opinion.

I'm just guessing because the prices for everything have gone up, everybody is having the same bright idea to shoot 22 on the cheap. Then everybody scrambles.

Right, because legality would totally make the difference to this hypothetical, awful person. You have to remember that these people exist regardless, and not clogging the legal system with their idiocy any further than necessary (the aforementioned childrens services), is a good thing.

Keep in mind the alternative is passing laws to restrict the products a subset of a culture is incredibly willing to pay for thus creating a black market for violent criminals to become rich exploiting, using tax dollars to pay for more police to enforce the laws, paying for courts and judges for trials, as well as jails and prisons to house offenders in, all while marring their employ-ability for a lifetime due to a possible felony record. Hey, that's what we've been doing and so far we've only spent about a trillion or so dollars.

Took this on trade a while back, and have never shot it. Numbers appear to match, and looks pretty clean to me, though admittedly I know very little about these commie guns.
