  1. Pics are in the 1st post, but you can see more pics here at http://www.carlyleracing.com Hit my site and vote on a color for the cage!
  2. Why, do you need a laugh? I got in it once tonight, it wasn't easy, but I can do it.... I need to hit the gym! Who wants to be my trainer?
  3. So they finished the cage tonight... the car is waiting at IPSMotorsports.net to be scuffed for paint. This weekend the cage will be getting a fresh coat of paint and clear coat. Hopefully next week we can start to reassemble the car! We have just finalized all but 1 of the the changes for this year and as soon as we get the last change nailed down we will be sharing our plans for this year. Now I know it doesn't look pretty yet, but when we get it all back together it will be insane! Stay tuned and enjoy the pics! http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5053/5408627555_80c4f11e44.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5180/5409236632_fc5f1361e5.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5097/5409236164_63a603516d.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5213/5409235726_ec740c29f2.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5175/5409235298_84a499e5d3.jpg
  4. Sounds good... you know I will be out racing again this year... Had lots of fun last year, made some money, was a great time!
  5. Thanks for posting these... I was out of town most of the weekend, but I recorded it... I have to go watch it now!
  6. I bought my kid a S&W AR15 22 for his first gun. I wanted something that he would use for years to come and it will be fun for you to shoot too. I know Vances has a Mossberg version for like $229.
  7. Well, you know I have to show love for the sponsors... BTW if you guys want a different banner let on there, let me know.. I just liked the one you made that I used.
  8. Yeah, I did the photoshop myself... kinda my first attempts... I have a friend working on them. As for the site itself it is a wordpress site.
  9. I updated my site www.carlyleracing.com and would like to know what you think... There are no forums I am not selling anything And it is pretty much all about my car So, what do you think?
  10. I am only running the LSX Series of Drag Radial. Most of the guys I'll be racing are in the low to mid 7's. That may change next year though. I may just be outgunned again. If that is the case, I'll probably switch tires and run a different class. Holt is doing the cage, the car is at thier shop now. I have a conference call with IPS and Livernois tomorrow at 2pm to finalize the setup before reassembly of the motor. It came through last year without any issues. We are trying to decide if we just want to put new rings and bearings and reassemble the bottom end or if we want to go to a new crank and rods. One thing is for sure, we will have a new cam setup. Next year we will spin the motor to a little more than 8k rpms.
  11. Car is still at the chassis shop... we havent put it back together yet.
  12. I hope we are ready for it... we will see. Still a lot of work to do.
  13. Thanks, I am also on a couple of pages in this months GMHTP magazine for winning the fastest Corvette competition and placing 2nd in Drag radial at the Shootout. Also, cage is getting close... some in progress pics.... http://thecarlylefamily.com/images/carpics/cagepics/from%20back.jpg http://thecarlylefamily.com/images/carpics/cagepics/from%20side.jpg
  14. R1 got new sprockets and a Shenko Hookup Camaro, well that one is kinda up in the air right now. Vette, 106mm, Solid Roller setup, 25-3 cage, twin chutes, fire supression system, race seats, new center balanced crank and I beam rods, some paint work (hoping for ~2000rwhp) Busa build (in progress) Duramax -- prob just a tune That should keep me busy for a minute or two.
  15. Yeah, I'm not too excited about getting in and out of that thing, but I want to be competitive in the Outlaw drag radial class and I need to be running 7.50 or faster to do that. I said I would never do this cage either, but here it goes into the car.
  16. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_OktiwEwt6UY/TO04yQvi5fI/AAAAAAAAAKo/YSevK0rbw10/s1600/MarkC2011Build.JPG
  17. Yeah, I lost AC and power steering... that's it... this year, I will be putting in race seats, but everything else will remain in the car.
  18. Well, I have to say that I think 2010 was a great success. We accomplished pretty much everything that we were hoping to accomplish this year, and we left a few things on the table for next year. Before I get into plans for 2011, I want to say that 2010 would not have been such a success without the help I received. Special thanks have to go out to Jeff, Tommy, Eric, and the rest of the crew at IPS Motorsports.net. The sponsorship that they offered made it possible for me to go as fast as I did and win the titles and races that we won. I know that there are people on this board that don't exactly like IPS, but I have been more than happy with the success that we have achieved together. Now, on to 2011. Today we began dissassembly of the car in preparations for next year. I have to point out that I drove the car into the shop today under it's own power and I couldn't have been happier with how well the car lasted and performed this year. So, we are still finalizing the specifics of the changes, but the goals are simple for 2011. ~2000rwhp and a new all car IRS world record for 2011. We plan on racing competitively in the outlaw drag radial class and intend to be faster than 7.50 next year, so some changes are naturally going to be required. First off we are upgrading the cage and chute's to support speeds faster than 7.50 and 200mph. Now, I am NOT, I repeat NOT stating that we are going to run out our first pass and run 7.49@200mph next year, we may not even hit 200mph (actually im fairly certain we will top out just shy of 190) and I am not sure how long it will take to get everything setup after the changes are done. Hopefully I will be able to share some pictures and progress as the build goes on and come this spring, hopefully new records will be set.
  19. I think everyone will always have a relative designation on fast. Around Cbus, 12.5 is fast enough on the street to get some shit done. anything faster than 10.0 on the street will have difficulty finding a 2nd race. So if you are wanting your classification to be a street car that can find a race, I'd say you should focus on a 10.5x car that looks and sounds like a 12.7+ car. That is where the fun is.
  20. I went on Sunday, almost bought an 22 cal AR-15 but don't really know which ones are good, so I left it for now... show was much smaller than I remember it being in the past.
  21. fixed, since you obviously don't have a clue.
  22. There is a Gun show this weekend at Westland mall...
