  1. So I am thinking about selling my Rocker C, since I never ride it, and replacing it with a 1000 Street bike. I like to go fast so I'll probably end up racing it at some point, but I really want either a new bike or a "like New" bike. Not looking to buy anyone's junk or something modded all to hell. It has been a few years since I had a Sport bike, so I'd like to start off on something pretty much stock and work my way up from there. That being said, I don't want something that will never be fast either. So, what should I buy???? First thoughts are R1 Like the looks a lot CBR1000RR don't like the looks as much but they seem to be fast as hell GSX1000R Seems like a nice compramise but they didn't make a 2010 did they? Looked at the BMW, and for 18k I think I could get any of the above bikes, a Dirtbike or 4 wheeler to play on and have some money left over for mods. So what would you buy... BTW, Josh, call me I am still very interested in the R1 we talked about... but I can't find your number.
  2. Ran 13.27 stock on stock tires in the wife's 2010 Camaro... not too bad I guess. Had a great time!
  3. I'll get some buns and some drinks then
  4. not sure if it matters but my fastest MPH is 158.20 just wasn't on the above pass.
  5. Here is the way it should look! atomicfusion 8.98@137.96 1.40 60' 10/17/2009--Corvette Z06--Twin turbo 1.40 60' 5.687 1/8th mile 125.23 1/8th 8.98 1/4 mile 137.96 1/4 mile Video proof since I lost my only 8 second slip ever..
  6. That build will be cool and fast. I couldn't do the 25.3 I'm too fat
  7. 10 cars... come on, I'd need at least 3/4 of the track my camaro is BONE stock... (TEMP TAG and all!) I'd bet I'll run like 13.50's or something stupid like that, it isn't even the 6 speed. (actually it is my wifes car) She made me promise not to mod it when we bought it. (think I can hide an N20 bottle from her?) Anyway I want to see what it does and just have some fun. I too like all kinds of cars, and don't think I was saying that the camaros, s10's, or mustangs aren't cool, cause I know they all are. Hell I have owned now 12 fbodies and 2 corvettes and wish i still had them all. I get the stirring of the pot thing, it's all good, everyone here does it. You get to push a bit farther cause you actually have something fast. And although your budget wasn't as much as mine, everyone still can't do it, cause if they could... they would. And for anyone who says I should have built some other kind of car other than my vette, FUCK OFF! If I had a dollar for every slack jawed yokel who said "fer da money ya'll got in that there car you could have had a 6 second [insert your preferred piece of shit here] and a pick em up truck to pull er to the track wit, hell, I reckon you could have bought a case of PBR with the left over too" ...Then I'd have 2 cars like mine!:bangbang:
  8. it's all good... i think it is awesome what you did with your truck... I had a NA 67 Camaro that went 9.60's NA with a small block some time ago. Bet you never even heard about that car. You know why, cause everyone has done it. I'd love to race you, but my motor doesn't come in until Monday Piston coater took too long. So I'll be in my slow ass stock 2010 camaro yeah, that's right, I'll be just another guy in a Camaro.
  9. I just didn't want to be yet another guy with a s10/camaro/mustang... If you like being another face in the crowd that's cool... look for me, the guy with all the poeple standing around his car.
  10. I guess you just don't understand... I have been cutting 1.39's on DRAG RADIALS WITH AN IRS. You are cutting your 1.18-1.24's on SLICKS with a STRAIGHT Axle. Oh ans what an accomplishment you have acheieved. You must be the first guy in the world to take a s10 and go as fast as you have. To compare what you have done to what I have done is like me comparing my Car to my son's hot wheels. You can go to Jegs, Summit, hell even Napa or Auto zone and get the parts for your truck. We have to make many of the parts going on my car. People just haven't done what I am doing yet. It's funny how people think I can't put the power to the ground when I have run some of the best 60' times that have ever been run in one of these cars. I ran 1.79' stock on stock tires (best that had EVER been ran at the time) and I have set the record for the 60' in c6 corvettes multiple times. This year I will do the same again by being the first to get the 60's in the 1.2x's once my spindle kit has be COMPLETED... that's right I had to have a custom kit made to be able to put a smaller than 18" wheel on the car. What rim did you cut your 1.18 on? 15"? Let's put a my tires on your truck and see what you cut. So lets see, I have held the records for fastest C6 (all inclusive) been top 10 for fastest c6 stock on stock tires, top 10 for fastest c6 bolt ons, set the record for Quickest ET multiple times, Set the record for fastest MPH multiple times (Jason still holds this record today) Set the record for quickest 60' in a C6 multiple times, Set the record for most HP in a C6 mulptle times, been in 2 magazines, won Multiple car shows and Can still drive the car to the track if I wan to. Can your s10 do that? If not, maybe it is you that need to work on that shit some. read above
  11. In case you haven't seen it yet... for those that don't know, my car normally traps 156-158. We shut down at 1000' this run.
  12. My car cuts consistant 1.39-1.40 with IRS suspension on Drag radials.... But I guess that isn't hooking at all. This year the car will get slicks for the first time... we have been waiting on a spindle conversion for some time. New motors are sometimes needed... we had a design issue on the drive shaft, I guess GM never intendend them to support 1132rwhp and the bushings melted and pushed the drive shaft into the crank... took out the main caps, thrust bearings, and a couple of rods. We did upgrade the internals while we were in there, but that was more "because we can" than needed. The old internals were supportive of 1500rwhp and the new ones will support 1800ish. Motor should be back at the shop on Tuesday, and if it can be done in time, it will, but in the case it isn't I will take my wife's 2010 camaro (stock still) I look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, and our goal for my car is to make the NMCA event in KY at the end of the month.
  13. Well, I will know more in a couple of days, but if the car is back together in time, I will bring it out. We are making a LOT of changes again this year. Pushing for over 1200rwhp this year. 1132rwhp wasn't enough last year went 8.98 at the end of the season last year, it would be nice to hit 8.50 at a CR event.
  14. Check out C Magazine this month... Did an article on the car. Haven't seen it yet, but heard it was out.
  15. No Clue on the MPG... I'm sure it isn't 20mpg anymore though. E85 uses more fuel than gas anyway, and we are pushing a bunch of it to keep up with the power.
  16. We actually only lost a valve... it is being replaced as you read this. Should be good to go very soon. Yes, you can buy Corvette Enthusiast at any major news stand. I have a subscription (prob for life now)
  17. also if you don't want to register... just enter my email address mark@carlyleracing.com since I am registered.
  18. Just released! Well, they released the article on the car! You can go to http://www.corvetteenthusiast.com and see the article. Some changes have happened since the article, but I'm pretty happy about my first publication. Tell me what you think...
  19. Well, we didn't get to make any more passes... we had a Head issue due to the stock computer limitations. We are making adjustments for an upcoming event. So best pass was 8.98@137(20mph off since I let out at 1000')
  20. We made a bunch of changes before this event and only had a couple hours to sort it out. We are actually still making shakedown passes with the new turbo setup. The guys had told me if anything seemed strange to just lift, and I thought I heard something and lifted. We checked the logs and the car and everything was fine so next pass we should be able to go full bore. we are only on 18lbs right now and we have run the car up to 21lbs so there is still more in it. We actually made 3 passes today and have video of all of them. 1st pass blew the tires off, I was looking at the wall and decided to let out... rand a 19.xx at like 45mph (fast huh) 2nd pass the stupid Transbrake/TCI box fuse blew and I couldn't launch on the brake and since the fuse that runs the tranny computer blew, the tranny didn't shift. so I lifted and ran a 10.65@87mph or something like that. 3rd pass... launched on about 10lbs of boost... spun a bit, I lifted and it rehooked, got back in and ran it out till about 1000' and ran the 8.98@137. Started raining so I didn't get anymore passes today, but it is supposed to be nice tomorrow so I am hoping for a new world record. 8.81 is the C6 record and 8.54 is the IRS record. Hopefully we will get one or both this weekend.
  21. Earlier today at the LSX shootout here in Memphis TN. We will be running all weekend if all goes well. More to come...
