Only 1 C6 Z06 was out and the driver cut a 1.41 on his 4th pass in the car... not too bad I'd say. As for my car, I cut consistant 1.4x 60's, but this year expect consistant 1.3x with the addition of the new trans and transbrake.

April Fools... but it would have been a cool idea. -
Well, my bike showed up today, just in time for the good weather... can't wait to drive it tomorrow in the 70's!

Well, the car is at the cage shop. Officially gone too far to turn back now. Should be back from the fabricator no later than next Friday. Then the motor goes in and the new trans. Looks like we could possibly make it in time for the event! Keeping my fingers crossed. -

I was under the impression that my boost controller would do that as well... I will ask the guys about that one though. -

Yeah that will be much better for long road trips... I usually go to a good number of bike nights... I was on my Rocker last year.

Need 2 Licensed NHRA members
atomicfusion1647545515 replied to atomicfusion1647545515's topic in Track is Crack
Car goes to Holt today.... if the cage gets done, then the rest is pretty easy. -
I will be making my NHRA license passes soon. I will need 2 Licensed members to be present when I do this. Anyone interested?

Some of you may have seen my car down at IPS... we are making some changes this year.. 1st the motor is being freshened and punched out to a 434 with a small compression boost, better rods and pistons for more power handling. 2nd the Intercooler setup is being redone so that we can get even colder CAI Temps and build more power 3rd N20 Has been added and is being tuned to give that little extra for the new records we will be setting soon. 4th 10 point cage is happening now. Car goes to Holt Race cars tomorrow (Friday) and the NHRA is actually changing the rules based off of what they have to do to get the cage in my car. 5th New Transmission, we are upgrading from the 4L65 to a 4L80 with a transbrake. This should allow us to build boost on the line and launch in boost for better 60' times (traction provided) 6th Still up in the air are an Intake change, turbo upgrades and spindle changes to run 15" slicks on the back. We will see if we have time to finish these items. Car should be making > 1200 RWHP after these changes and with some things we are working on with weight savings, we should be shooting for 8.50's@160+ Should be an interesting season to say the least.

Thanks again for the kind words... I think that the bikes are so expensive because of the demand for them... when the values started dropping last year they lowered production numbers. The sport bikes are so mass produced that the supply outweighs the demand making them cheaper to buy. You take a bike like a Ducati and it can be double the price of a Harley. I considered getting another sport bike, and think they are a great value for the dollar... I just really like to cruise when I ride a bike and really don't want to be laying on the tank anymore. I got this one because it is going to hold value since it is a limited production run bike... it is one of the CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) bikes. They only make a limited number of them each year and they will hold value or even go up as they sell through.

I used to ride sport bikes, but now I'm older and don't like leaning over so far. Besides I have a cure for my speed addiction. I wanted the one from last year that is just like this one but orange... Would have matched the Vette. As for riding just hit me up... I love to ride. As for being a waste of money, so is any car that is more than basic transportation, but we all seem conten to waste money on our cars.

Thanks guys... bike gets shipped back here tomorrow... prob won't end up back in town till Monday or Tuesday. Was pretty fun driving it in Vegas. As you can tell by the purchase I didn't do to bad at the tables.

Just got back from Vegas and I picked up a little something while I was there... I was looking at a yellow one at C&A but this blue one was awesome. After I bought it, I took it out for some break in miles and took these pictures. Kinda cool to get to ride my own bike out through the Red Rock Scenic Route. http://thecarlylefamily.com/images/motorcycles/bike%20side%20small.jpg http://thecarlylefamily.com/images/motorcycles/bike%20front.jpg http://thecarlylefamily.com/images/motorcycles/bike%20back.jpg Thought this one was cool... http://thecarlylefamily.com/images/motorcycles/bike%20mirror%20small.jpg

Oh and we did all that with 65lb 18" wheels and tires! No slicks, no skinnies, and FULL exhaust! We race the car the same way I drop the kids off at school in it.

I hear the shutdown is kinda small... I can't shut down at Kilkare already... At Muncie on one pass I went past the end of the shutdown, so it goes like this... With the new additions going in right now we are expecting 165+ traps and need all the shut down we can get. We will prob have to install a parachute just to slow the car down. Now lets not even try to go that fast on a hillbilly track with small shut downs. As for why my car isn't cutting faster 60's than some other cars, it's because I am doing all I have done on the factory IRS with FACTORY Axles! How many other guys can say that? Only suspension work done to my car is that we replaced the stock struts with coil overs. I bet you can't find a talon running 1.1's that can say that. I had a race car, a 2200lb 67 camaro with a fiberglass front clip and lexan windows and aluminum interior, transbreak on a glide and rear tires that could hook on grass. Thats been done... What we have accomplished in the Z had not been done prior to our doing it. Now this other guy beat me to the 8's, but lets see what happens if he accepts our request to line them up.

I keep waiting for someone to call Bullshit on this guy's pass, but I don't want to be the one since it would be percieved as jealocy. I do find it fishy (and so do many others by the looks of my PM box) that they made it from building to 8.81 in 5 passes. That seems like crazy progress to me. I have also found out after the fact that they were launching on N20, running Meth, Open headers, at a "family" track day, and have been known to cheat before. This things coupled with the comments comming to me from PM's make me wonder what is going on.

Change is coming.... prepare to be amazed

I already requested he meet up with us in KY at the NMCA event... for some reason I have not recieved a response.

That is one of my favorite quotes of all time! Haven't heard much about your new build, just that you were redoing some stuff. I should be high 8's next year off spray. That should be a fun race.

Um, can't I get any love? My car is ready right now! Too bad the weather isn't

SW's 242mph car at the track

Yeah, SW has some really fast cars including a very fast C6Z. He currently holds the standing mile record at 228.
