  1. So I have been going back and forth on how I was going to build the front suspension. I wanted to keep it some what simple, yet make sure it worked 100%. Leave it to my dad to be here 10 minutes and come up with an idea that uses the stock stuff. I went to Home Depot the other day to grab the stuff to make front and rear axles, 5/8 all thread is what I got. I also picked up these long bolts that I was going to keep the wheel on with as a big lug nut. Well those are now being used as part of the axle. I'll show you what I mean.. This is the piece I picked up from Home Depot (4 of them actually) http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/1011648_10151796929716907_821617905_n_zps1baedf45.jpg This is the stock front suspension, where my finger is pointing to is the portion that is to be cut off http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/574501_10151796928986907_1494773080_n_zps39cfd792.jpg Here it is after it has been cut down http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/539677_10151796938256907_1409862796_n_zps44c902e1.jpg Now take the long nut and put it over the portion of the stock axle you cut down http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/1002887_10151796938441907_249100463_n_zps928b3c2e.jpg After you weld this on, you can then thread the all thread into it and secure the wheel with a jam nut on either side http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/1184851_10151796939541907_1765235451_n_zpsee78351f.jpg My buddies have gotten in on the action and donated stuff here and there. Today my buddy gave me a set of Stanley side markers from a 1983 Yamaha Varago. http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/1185180_10151800084431907_1844796864_n_zps438d45a7.jpg I am hoping to finish the chassis up tomorrow, get it all welded and painted. After that it will be a little wiring for headlights that will be ran through a 6v battery and a nitrous switch equipped shift handle.
  2. Rod Smith and Roby both suspended for the opener. Apparently Smith would've been the starter, but the suspension stems from something that took place back in February.
  3. TE Blake Thomas career over at Ohio State according to 11 Warriors. "they revealed a condition in his neck that is causing nerve damage. With every hit he risks the chance of paralysis in one or both arms. The doctors on the OSU staff - who are absolutely outstanding - told Blake that they could not let him continue due to the high risk. He was/is devastated. He loves his teammates, coaches and OSU. Although he won't be on the field he will be with his teammates in spirit. Go Bucs!"
  4. The numbers, colors and everything will have to be changed then as well. Players sued this year because their "likeness" was being used. It sucks cause I love the NCAA games far more than the Madden series.
  5. I was just getting ready to post this. Kid lit up camps and earned his 5th star based on 40 time and verticle from what I read. Throw in Lattimore, a couple OL, McMillian at LB and a surprise or 2 and this class is up there with the last 2 if not ahead
  6. They say the average tuition is 14-15k a year. As for EA sports the Pac12 has also said they won't be apart of the game, therefore I don't think the game will ever be made. How can you have a CFB game with 3 of the biggest conferences not a part of the game.
  7. Yeah you're right about it being a year round gig now. My buddy had classes with a few players when he was in school (Spitler, Hartline and Mo Wells) and would even go to lunch with them from time to time. Said they never really had any free time and always appeared to be tired
  8. I think they can only earn $2000 over any grant money they recieve for the year, if I read it correctly. I honestly think we will see a day where players get paid in some fashion more than free schooling. I think the 2 players who sued EA sports over them using their likeness have opened up the flood gates, add in everyone suddenly backing Manziel. Either that or like others have said in the past, schools will leave the NCAA and start their own thing.
  9. This article states the NCAA allows them to work: http://technique.library.gatech.edu/issues/spring1998/may1/news2.html So does this one: http://www.mannmuseum.com/should-scholarship-athletes-work/
  10. I was under the impression that their room/board was paid for under their scholarships. I have never heard of them not being able to work, I know a few players got in trouble for being paid for work they never actually did. Time to look up the rules I guess. Edit: "What do athletics scholarships cover? Full scholarships cover tuition and fees, room, board and required course-related books."- NCAA.org Totally unrelated but cool stat regarding the percentage of college athletes who go pro in various sports Baseball – 11.6% Men’s ice hockey – 1.3% Football – 1.7% Men’s soccer – 1.0% Men’s basketball – 1.2% Women’s basketball – 0.9%
  11. I'm sure he was saying the same thing when the Tat 5 got suspended for selling their own stuff......not
  12. So I am watching ESPN before I fall to sleep and I can't believe how many people are suddenly supporting college players being able to get paid for signing and selling shit. Where was all this support for AJ Green or the Tat 5? Simply amazing how it's now suddenly ok and should just be allowed. I'm actually in favor of college kids being able to make money off their name, I am just against the hypocrisy that is the NCAA and mass media (ESPN). I really don't think Manziel will be suspended this year, by the time they rule on him he'll be gone from A&M.
  13. I never understood why Griffin was on scholarship, don't employees's kids get 50% off? Not to mention his dad is Archie, I am sure they could afford to pay his way. Oh well
  14. "From a tOSU press release... Both Jamie Wood and Adam Griffin are out with shoulder injuries...Griffin for good and Wood is a fifth yr sr so likely as well..."
  15. I sure hope these freshman can play, everyone and their mother has crowned them king already. I can't stand getting on scout half the time cause it's always "which freshman starts" or threads simliar. It'll be the same thing next year when the new class comes in, the older guys will suddenly be forgotten about and the need to worry about the future will begin again haha.
  16. I'm not ranting, just pointing things out. We are basically stating the same thing that uniforms have changed over the years, thus can't really be considered tradition.
  17. In other news, ESPN has fired Hugh Douglas for racial comments. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/espn-fires-hugh-douglas-following-racial-altercation-211455087.html
  18. You being serious? You do understand that OSU has sold out in recent years with the combat uniforms right? They'll be wearing them again at some point this year. Hell even this year they changed the regular uniforms yet again (buckeye leaves on the collar) not to mention one of the schools colors isnt even on the damn jersey anymore (gray). I think the tradition days are on their way out, read through this thread and you'll see, uniforms land you recruits. That is just the world we live in today, apparently uniforms mean more to a kid than traditions.
  19. Kid lost his license for a year and paid $2xx in fines...
  20. I wouldn't go to another Buschur event anyways...No real loss there lol.
  21. Yeah it's a lot better looking than what it was when we got the thing. I will post some more pics once the wife gets home with it.
  22. First things first the new hubs came in. http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/1146685_10151788605991907_613289602_n_zps18cde4b9.jpg Secondly I went to the junkyard today and came across a Chevy c10 pickup truck. I got to looking at the mirror and thought it'd look cool on the wagon, so I grabbed it. For $2 I couldn't go wrong. I am going to tear it apart and have it blasted/coated to match the wagon http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/1002185_10151788543521907_806096065_n_zps417bf0d1.jpg Lastly the wagon is back from the powder coater and I absolutely love the color. I will snap a couple more pics later today and post them up on here. I can't wait to see my little guys reaction to it being done. http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/1157504_10151788797761907_267548529_n_zps3aee95a5.jpg
