Ohio State football: Hyde dismissed from team, sources say

Release from OSU: Meyer announces discipline for four Buckeyes Separate incidents result in immediate, decisive action COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer today suspended senior running back Carlos Hyde, from Naples, Fla., from all football team activities pending the outcome of the student code of conduct and criminal investigations. Hyde was named in a City of Columbus Police Department report that was issued Monday. Meyer also took disciplinary action Monday against two freshmen who were involved in legal issues in the past week: tight end Marcus Baugh, from Riverside, Calif., and defensive lineman Tim Gardner, from Indianapolis. He also announced that senior cornerback Bradley Roby, from Suwanee, Ga., will not attend Big Ten media days this week. Roby was involved in a legal issue this weekend in Bloomington, Ind., and, as more information becomes available, could face additional discipline. “I have a clear set of core values in place that members of this football program are constantly reminded of and are expected to honor,” Meyer said. “There are also expectations with regard to behavior. I expect our players to conduct themselves responsibly and appropriately and they will be held accountable for their actions.” Baugh has been removed from all team activities and will sit out the first game of the season, Aug. 31 vs. Buffalo, for his arrest last weekend for underage possession of alcohol and possessing a fake identification. His actions will also result in the loss of his summer aid. Gardner is being sent home and will not be a part of the 2013 team after he was charged Saturday night by Columbus police with obstruction of official business. “Swift, effective and fair discipline is the standard for our entire athletics program,” Director of Athletics Gene Smith said. “I applaud Coach Meyer for his immediate actions.” -

Yes there is, I believe the Superman/Batman movie will be the segway into The Justice League movie. Many feel that DC is rushing things due to the success of Marvel and The Avengers. -
Well that's a relief, hopefully one of the young guys can step up and hold down the corner position opposite of Grant. This defense is going to be YOUNG!!! As in already looking forward to 2014?
-
It will be an interesting season to say the least. I refuse to check out Stadium and Main, I can only imagine the field day that place is having with all this news coming out.
-
I painted the Springfield ANG 4-5 years ago and the pilots back then told us how it was heading that way. They said they was trying to eliminate 200k soldiers from the airforce.
-
Un-manned aircraft is the future anyways...

Zack, I wonder if Adam Griffin will be in trouble with Urban as well. He did tweet claiming that Hyde was in his room all night and wasn't the one that punched the girl. Lying to your coach is never a good thing. I had read the rumor that her dad was a cop, but was serving in Afghanistan.

Hard to replace nearly 1000 yards and 17 touchdowns (had one receiving TD). While the depth is there, I am not so sure the expierence is. Rod Smith could very well be an absolute monster, but I haven't seen enough of him to say right now that he or any of the backs are going to be able to replace Hyde. The offense will have to rely on better passing out of Braxton and the receivers and unless Braxton has improved greatly my opinion stands at 10-2. Northwestern and one of either Wisky or Michigan will most likely be the teams to beat them this year. I am still hoping for a 12-0 year, but at this current moment I just don't see it happening. The defense was already young coming into this year, losing Roby for any amount of time hurts even worse. -
Maybe the Hyde situation will end up being like Storm Kleins last year. Girl attacked Storm, he did what cops told him to do, got charged, missed most of his senior year and then charges were dropped.

I am aware that college kids want to drink, but at what point do you say enough is enough? You have all these kids getting in trouble not just at Ohio State but in CFB as a whole and the common theme is alcohol. Florida just had a linebacker arrested twice in 2 weeks, both times alcohol involved from what is being reported. Manziel gets booted from the Manning camp, apparently due to drinking the night before. Baugh, Hyde and Roby, Bell for sure arrested/charged due to drinking issues. The excuse of these are kids is a bullshit one at best. These are 18+ year old people, in the United States that makes them ADULTS! It's time to stop coddling the youth and blaming every mistake they make on them being kids.

There always seems to be a fine line with comic book movies. General audiences want realism, fan boys want movies true to the books. -

Just became a 10-2 team in my opinion. Seems to be absolutely no leadership on this team and no fucks given attitudes. -
Bingo!!! People on scout are complaining that an alcohol ban would kill recruiting. Well if recruits are that concerned about drinking, maybe you shouldn't be recruiting them to begin with
-
Vonn Bell not at team meetings this morning, apparently got arrested for an open container as well. Anyone seeing a common theme here? Alcohol!!! I will not be watching ESPN for the next couple weeks due to the backlash that is about to go down because of this shit.
-
Wonder who the 2013 kid is, Baugh? That's the only kid I have heard in trouble this off season outside of Hyde now. ESPN is going to have a field day with this...

I liked the first 2 Spidermans, the 3rd was over done (too many villians). The new series grew on me, I hated the movie the first time I watched it. Now I don't mind it and am looking forward to the rest of the series -
Yeah I hope he is wrong too and you are correct about everything stated lol. Hyde talked about going back home cause he was benched. I sure hope he is wrong too
-
I was talking to my grandma yesterday about my cousin who is going to be a freshman this year at Utica and she told me he is up over 300 on the bench. I know a couple guys who could do that as freshman when I was in school but they were doing it the 2nd half of the school year, not the summer before entering highschool haha. There is no way in hell I could put up 300lbs today haha
-
Yeah this is a huge blow if true. Supposedly the roomate of said individual has confirmed him to be in his room the night this took place. ESPN is going to have a field day with this following the arrest of Baugh, "Urban cannot run a clean program" will be splattered everywhere. " @ekard_j he wasn't even there that my Roomate — Adam Griffin (@yunggriffsays) July 20, 2013" I believe it will be running back by committee now. You have Hall coming back,Smith then guys like Dunn, Hall, Elliott...

I am interested in seeing what villians they use in this series of Spiderman films. They have already announced they will be doing atleast 4 films in this series and from the looks of things it's going to lead up to the Sinister 6 being in a film. The new one that comes out next year has Electro and Rhino and rumors of Green Goblin. That right there is 3 of the 6, add in The Lizard from the last movie.
