  1. ALL of them suck. Our current political system leaves us in a "Damned if we do, Damned if we don't" situation. When it comes time to elect a president we are always left choosing the lesser of two evils. Couple that with the rest of our government and really, one is as good/bad as the other and nothing changes. And unfortuantely, none of that is going to change any time soon because those who are able to change it are profiting too much on the status quo. It also doesn't help that those who motivate change usually end up shot.
  2. I hear the Audi R8 is due to come out with a diesel V10 in the near future.
  3. "I beat Anorexia" made me LOL..
  4. WTF is the big deal about MySpace? What is there to get obsessed over? I don't see the draw of a personal webpage builder and half-assed IM/E-mail client.
  5. This is why I can only be a sniper in games. I could take aim and pull the trigger, but I couldn't dwell on the dying animals like this. I don't need to see the thrashing and blood spilling.

  7. There's always need for a big winged 4-door [AWD] sedan!
  8. Bah, most evos don't like to get their tires dirty.. Seriously though, I drove a '98 T/A year round, through a couple New England winters. It can be done, and done pretty easily. This guy just had no clue.. and probably summer tires.

    Pinks

+1 He embodied everything that people hate about ricers.

    Pinks

*Supposedly* the two teams confer and decide on what to bring to the track. Though I don't think I've ever seen a regular Pinks episode where both teams showed up with comparable cars. Usually one team has a throwaway car they slapped together with shop parts in the previous week.
  11. The problem with harnesses is that they don't allow your body to rotate forward in the event of a roof collapse. There are DOT approved harnesses by Schroth. THey have an expansion section over one shoulder which will allow your body to move if needed. Essentially, a harness should be used with a rollcage. But if you have a rollcage, you should wear a helmet so you don't bash your brains out against one of the pipes. Kind of a snowball there...

    Pinks

This is mostly why I don't watch the regular Pinks show. Too many whiners and too much Drama/Sandbagging. They do the best they can to make the show interesting and the racing competitive, but it's just not cool. The episode with the Honda punk who thought he could race with the big boys and needed 20 lengths was both funny and pathetic. The one cool move I've seen, though it didn't pay out, was a guy who put a fake nitrous system in his car. What I really enjoy is Pinks - All Out. Now that's a fun show. Lots of real cars and real heads-up drag racing.
  13. I was one of the five cars on this ride. I use my WRX for dirt and I knew this would be a muddy run. We have some routes that are 90% tarmac, those I take the STI out on. The person organizing these rides is keeping the number of cars down because every now and then we need to turn around, and getting a larger convoy around would be nigh impossible. The time before last we found 3 roads that were on Federal maps but were closed/non-existant/impassible. The roads were great, a lot of forestry roads with some fun tarmac here and there. Unfortunately, a lot of the good stuff was inches deep in snow/slush, so we couldn't go as fast as we'd have liked. And my tired are CRAP on tarmac so I couldn't push as hard as the others either. Though I did get all four off the ground at one part. There are definately sections that I have trouble seeing anything short of 4WD/AWD making it through. Usually iced or loose gravel up a steep incline. One run had a section of road that was washed out with 1'-1.5' deep streams. It felt like we were rock crawling for some of it. But there are also a ton of roads that a 2WD car could handle. I often have trouble getting my 'navigator' to clear up his schedule for these rides because of the short notice (usually only a couple days). So I'd have no trouble with a ride-along if someone would want to come. The person who organizes these rides wants to keep things on the DL and the car count to 5 or less, so while passengers are OK, additional cars are out. Sorry. Here's the "Epic Run" we did the other day. Out route changes every time so it may not be accurate in the future. Thorne: mark March 1st on your calendar. It's the next RallyX. You better be there!

  16. I can see the thread now.. They must've limited anonymous views while they upgraded their server.. It's interesting seeing all the forums it's spread to. Some interesting ones: ar15.com and glocktalk.com
  17. http://objflicks.com/CarsWeDrove.htm Not a bad little trip through the past. Interesting to note, it seems the Fast and the Furious is a recycled movie....
  18. Wow.. That's just stupid. They're going to sell a ton of it at first, but they'll either get told to stop selling it, or the novelty will wear off. A "Flash in the pan" product.
  19. The only guy that'll survive in a relationship with her is one with a lot of money and no spine. If you think a gift a day is a lot, just wait until she starts demanding yearly cosmetic surgery. She's not even all that hot either...
  20. When lowered and with an aero kit/widebody, those cars have great lines. I would love to own one that was done out like that.
