Don't. Subarus are NOT happy with changing the intake unless you get tuned. Ask Thorne about Scaling his MAF. The problem is that Subaru uses a probe-style MAF rather than a full housing like the LS1 uses. This means that if you change the diameter of the intake pipe around the MAF, or change the bends before it, you might slip extra air past the MAF and run lean. Even Subaru's SPT intake has been shown to make legacies run lean. Another issue that a friend of mine with a N/A subie found is that without the silencer in place, you may get a resonnance in the intake that will cause bad MAF readings. So research your upgrade thoroughly, and you may need to get tuned if you plan to run an Intake. Subarus can be very picky about mods. But if research, plan, and tune appropriately, they run VERY well. The good news is that the stock Subaru intakes tend to work really well.

Because BMW's been doing it forever. It's supposed to be a Brand Image so people can readily identify the make of the car they see.

Very cool. But in today's air warfare, dogfighting is, for all practical reasons, obsolete. With the on-board electronics, fighters can engage beyond light of sight. Couple that with a networked battlefield and they can engage beyond the horizon. These planes would have been devastating back during "Top Gun", but today, if a fighter pilot needs to draw upon maneuvering like that, shit's gone WONG.

Apparently a study in florida has found that people slamming on their brakes to avoid a red light camera can cause an accident.. Whodathunkit? http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/03/080311151159.htm

I was never in the military, and looking back I kind of wish I had. I've had a number of friends who did, and my father was as well. The one thing I gathered from all of them was that it was the most difficult and demanding time of their lives, but also one of the most rewarding.

WTF? A whistle-tip? How is that even remotely cool? "Hey man, check out my car, it's awesome! It goes FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" I'd probably get into an accident from laughing so hard.

Assuming she doesn't have a penis, sure, I'd hit it. Once. But if she says "I made you a Protein Shake for breakfast" in the morning, I'm out the window.

Only if you put the K&N sticker they come with in a visible location. I have one in the STI. I don't hink they do much in newer cars since the stock intake systems tend to flow pretty well. But older cars, I can certainly see a drop-in filter helping a bit. Most newer cars I've seen have filter elements that probably flow the same about as the old circular type that used to sit on top of the big V8s, and these are for 4-cyl cars. Even a paper filter will have little enough restriction in that instance. A better intake tract (like a CAI) may help, depending on the design of your stock intake, but I would research it deeply. Certain stock intake designs flow plenty as is. And with a probe-type MAF, a different piping design can cause a dangerously lean condition. Now if I were to get another filter, I think I'd probably get a nano-fiber filter: http://www.ultimatesyntheticoil.com/Filters/Ea_Nanofiber_air_filters.htm It's easy to clean (just use a vacuum or compressed air), traps particles MUCH smaller than normal paper would and makes a K&N style look like an open intake, and flows air nearly as well as a K&N style. I only found out about them AFTER I bought my K&N..

The housing market wont stay tanked forever. I say hold onto it and rent it out. Interview prospective tennants first as if you were hiring them for a job. Which you are; house sitter. I don't know a whole lot about realestate, but from what I can tell there's two things that will ensure a good house value in the future: Lack of development space and increased area growth. There's ton of space to build out here, but there's also a ton of growth. To my untrained eye, this looks a good area to invest. Of course I could be completely wrong too.

I did get a laugh when the guy leaned over and knocked on the cop's window.

Already is; Pilgrim Power Plant. It used to be 4th WORST in the coutry, but after a very critical review and being shut down for a few years, it was overhauled and is one of the safest now. Electricity prices out there are still terrible. My family in MA can't believe how little my electric bill is when I have electric heat/cooking/etc. I once heard that a study was done to figure out what our TOTAL taxes are; including gas, sales, income, cigarettes, etc. It came to roughly 40% regardless of tax bracket. Kinda sucks that for every 5-day week of work, TWO whole days are just working without pay in order to fund our government.

Or 1 "day" = 1 Billion years? He is an omnicient, omnipotent, omnipresent being. He can take as long or as short as he likes.

Out of curiosity, what's the curb weight of an LSX/T56 FD?

There's legend of a field in NH where weed grows rampant. Every year they have to burn the field to keep the locals from harvesting it. So the entire town turns out to watch.

*nod* Science and Faith are not mutually exclusive. In my opinion, they actually SUPPORT each other. Faith is about the "Why" whereas Science is about the "How". Anyone who thinks that one negates the other comes across to me as closed-minded and somewhat of an ostrich. Did God create Man? Yes. How did he do it? Evolution. There's no rule that says God has to snap his fingers to create something. He doesn't have to be David Copperfield and "Ta-da! *poof*" make something appear. We're talking about an omnipotent, omnicient being creating a complex, interlocking system and then dropping a variable into it that's capable of CHANGING these systems. You can see God's fingerprints EVERYWHERE in science. You just have to open your eyes and look. Going from animal to sentience is a controlled mutation over millions of years. THAT'S your Deus Ex Machina. The universe in total, the human brain, hell even a single living cell is a fucking miracle it works at all. How can you look at DNA and not see a scary amount of order that had to come from chaos? Science and Faith go hand-in-hand and to ignore one or the other is to ignore God and his work. And giving up your free will to follow someone else's idea of how to view God is the highest form of blasphemy.
