  1. Just watched it; had it recorded. I was right. When I heard the Pilot, I was worried he'd try to keep the plane stationary, but he did a normal takeoff procedure. As for the naysayers, the treadmill could be going 100mph and the plane would still take off. As it is, that ultralight takes off at 25mph, and the treadmill was going at 25mph. And the truck can easily out accelerate the ultralight, so it hit 25mph before the ultralight. All arguments are meaningless.

  3. Snatch, right? Good movie. As for prices in Europe, remember that they have a much better public transit system. And we have a LOT more empty space.

  6. And it was the sister that has the book habit.. You're kinda killing the joke here man.
  7. Assuming there is no sudden tax on gas vehicles I already own, I'll keep the two I have and look into an electric car. A diesel hybrid that can run off biodiesel would probably be the best bet at first. When the technology develops, a fully electric car will be a good choice. The ZR1 may be the fastest gas vette, but I doubt it'll be the fastest vette ever.
  8. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=163762&page=10 Too bad it'll probably be a year or so until it's finished. But it has some great lines already. Looks like it hopped off a comic book page.
  9. I do have to say though, I spend a lot of money on books instead of hitting the library. But it's mostly for two reasons: 1. I like knowing I own the book so I don't have to worry about creasing the binding or taking it to lunch. 2. I also have never found some of my favorite books in Libraries.

  11. Chuck Norris would make Oates his mustache?
  12. I'm surprised the antenna doesn't come with the module.. Maybe that was the "bracket" that took them two week to get so they could install my Sirius.
  13. Don't get Norton! That went from a good A/V software to one of the most bloated and useless pieces of software crap out there. (I blame Semantec, they F' everything up.) Get NOD32, or AVG, or something OTHER than Norton, McAffee, or Trend Micro. Because those three are the big anti-malware programs out there, new viruses are writted to combat them, so they will miss 80% - 90% of new malware. THis means that while other less popular anti-malware programs may catch a new virus, you have to wait for the big three to capture the virus, dissect it, and then release a fix for it. Not to mention that they're f'n expensive.
  14. I have SIrius in my STI w/ the windshield mount. At first I was thinking "WTF?" but once I thought about it, I prefer the windshield mount. I think it's better than having a blob on my roof/trunklid and the only downside is explaining to passengers what it is. Otherwise it's hardly noticeable from outside the car.
  15. There can't be a winner because they can never fight. It'd be an "Unstoppable Force vs Immoveable Object" situation and would create such a paradox that the universe would implode. Granted both Rambo and Chuck Norris would survive, but they wouldn't have any bad guys to kill, so they'd just end up bored. So in the interest of good entertainment, they will never fight each other.

    Airbrushing

I have a pair of helmets that I want airbrushed/clearcoated. The designs are simple; Angel wings on one, Demon wings on the other. Anyone here a good Airbrusher, or can reccomend one? Thanks
  17. Didn't you know? The INTERNET is as evil as Street Racing.
  18. I owuldn't come down on him too hard. That was obviously just one quote from a whole itnerview. We don't know what context he put that in. I think they did a big interview with that guy and then cherrypicked a quote they could 'deliver' the way they wanted.
  19. They will mention the accident again and "information from investigators". It's ch 10 and 710 on TWC. EDIT: 10 seconds after I hit submit, they had the article. Racing was prominent, but they at least made it know that it wasn't certain. CR was mentioned and the letters that were sent in were mentioned as well. It definately could have been worse that it was. I think the letter put enough doubt in their heads that they didn't completely jump on the racing angle. One "expert" interview was edited to make it seem like he lose control when he hit the nitrous.. :/
  20. Wow, so for the same price as that you can get AWD instead of FWD, 50% more horsepower, and an actual performance suspension so you'll be able to outperform it in every way. So what possible reason is there to buy the Civic over an STI? I guess if you don't know the STI exists...
  21. Quiznos STILL isn't selling the Smokehouse Beef Brisket.. On a good note though, I ate at Johnny B's on Bethel for the first time. Pretty good.
  22. The trick is not to push your limits. Last run there was only 1 spinout. An STI owner gave it too much gas around a corner, dropped a wheel and went all the way around. Scared the living daylights out of him, but he was fine. The thing was, the corner wasn't even one of the difficult ones, it was just off the highway. Overconfidence is the killer in HH.
  23. I'd be happy to have a Navigator along when we do this. So you guys are welcome to ride if you don't want to drive.
