Then, out of curiosity, what makes this any different than buying wheels that are already black? I can see the argument, sorta, if I were changing the color of the stock wheels. But I see no difference with aftermarket wheels.

It's not my only source of income. As for my thinking, I want to tie in my calipers in some way. Originally, I had the RPF1s which had bright yellow logos. So I matched the calipers to the logos. But then I found out that the wheels won't fit. So now I'm going the opposite direction and trying to tie the wheels to the calipers. There's no thing to Apex. Just trying to come up with something other than a solid yellow spoke. As for the single spoke thing, I think I saw it on Ken Block's car before Volk started doing it. I like it because the human eye prefers balanced/symmetrical things so just doing one spoke is eye catching. Using yellow to match the calipers should be just enough to keep the calipers from looking out of place. On my old STI, the gold calipers helped break up the black on black look since I had black wheels. I want to have a similar, but more overt, effect with the BRZ.

Thanks guys. I'll start with a torx and small raps from my impact. Failing that I'll try using one of those removal sockets. I really really don't want to drill this. Heat would be nice, but I can't get to the hub where the threads are in order to heat it up; the pulley pretty much covers it and heating up the pulley will just pull the bolt tighter against its threads.

(ignore the finger-selfie) It's a M6 in size, the allen socket in the head is 5mm. Installed the Intercooler and went to swap to a smaller pulley and apparently they used thread locker on these. Three came out, but this one stripped. I need to get this bolt out with a minimum of damage to the blower. I could, in theory, stand to lose the pulley that's on there. But I'd rather not, just in case. And I'd really like to do this without messing up the existing threads. Any recommendations are are appreciated. Tools, a shop, etc. I've thought of grinding the head square and using a wrench, drill and use a bolt-out. Use a small nut remover, etc... I've just had mixed results with these methods in the past and I'm hoping for more experienced advice. Thanks.

I'm actually at Dennis Hyundai now. Still slingin' parts. I don't mind bronze on black for Subarus. But I think with the bright yellow calipers behind, bronze will just look like like mud. Maybe I'll just do all black or dark graphite with a flourescent yellow APEX on one spoke. I'm not a fan of polished/chrome wheels on modern cars. Without other polished accents on the car it makes the wheels look "separate" from the car. So I'll have to vote no on those ideas. This was an option too. But I'm concerned about how the bright yellow calipers will look behind them. I think black will make the calipers pop more, and putting a little bit of yellow on the wheel will tie them together. I was considering white at one point. The brightness of the yellow would be lost a bit. But the overall impact of the wheels would be eye-catching. However I would need to get some white onto the car elsewhere to tie them in. What about a matching yellow lip, but black face and inner barrel? Hmm..

So the BRZ wheels I made the big thread about don't fit over the new brakes. Grrr.. I have another set coming, but I'll be powdercoating them right off the bat because silver will look like crap. Conversion is usually pretty easy. You can get adapters that change the R12 fittings to R134a fittings. Then you use an Ester oil for lubrication (instead of PAG) and just recharge the system with R134a.

If you want a DD, get the Audi. If you want an AutoX/Track day car, get the Evo. The Evo won't be as comfortable and you'll spend more time at the gas station.

Another interesting garage recipe: Acetone and ATF mixed 50/50 is supposedly many times better at freeing stuck bolts than PB Blaster.
