  1. I've had this thought too. I have a good amount lithium batteries for flashlights, power tools, camping gear, etc. The only ones I feel mostly comfortable charging overnight/unattended are my milwaukee batteries, though maybe that's even a mistake. I've considered buying a "flammable storage cabinet" for all my rechargeable battery storage, or even a small benchtop one for chargers themselves. The question always becomes heat build up if it were really closed. Not sure what the best answer is other than unplugging them always. You can buy inline plug-in timers pretty reasonably though, so no need to hardwire an old school mechanical wall timer in my mind.
  2. +1 for Cyclist Connection if you're on this side of town.
  3. Now Panduh's going to get fired up about the "armed" verbiage lol. Windows were broken, doors were broken through, we had a huge number of guys with tacticool vests, body armor, restraints, etc. INSIDE the capitol building that I could see with my eyes. Might as well extend that argument to include the muffins and scones that were identified, as the goal was so clearly to make nice with the elected officials inside. So was it burglary then, just not armed burglary? Then we can ice that cake with talk about "holding people accountable". Laughable to sane people, but you do you, "sane" guy.
  4. Gas heat is far and away the best option right now and for the foreseeable future, but that much span makes me question whether your electric system was configured/setup correctly. I've encountered electric furnaces with 2-stage electric heating coils that are wired to run together (not low and then high when required, but BOTH high AND low running anytime the heat is on). That will absolutely give you a crazy high electric bill when temps drop below the range a heat pump alone can support.
  5. 64 from 70 is a pretty aggressive turndown. There is a point at which the usage required to recover the full air volume of the house X degrees will offset the savings of turning it down that far. You've got to climb back up the hill, so to speak. Just food for thought, but you could experiment with it to find out whether it matters.
  6. If your usage is primarily heating, run the gas line and save on gas heating efficiency versus electric heating efficiency. Unless we're talking huge distances or complex trenching, the payback should be pretty quick. On the other hand, a split offers the option to both cool AND heat, so if you expect significant cooling needs that might push you in that direction. Either way, if you're conditioning the space spend some money on insulation as has been said already, otherwise it doesn't matter anyway.
  7. Carfax is mostly dead to me. Wife's previous car was purchased 3 years old with balance of factory warranty, carfax showed transfer of ownership from private owner to a dealership, then to the dealer she bought from. Otherwise just service records, but clean in terms of accident history, etc. When she went to trade it in, carfax showed major accident damage to front, back, both sides, roof, trunk, effectively every panel... Turns out it was crashed and repaired several months before she bought it, and the repair entry wasn't reported in such a way that it made it to carfax until later that year. The changes of ownership that were noted were a result of the collision, repair, and either sale or auction to the dealer she bought from... lesson learned as she got like $1k on a car that should have been worth $4k or so in trade without the dirty history. Also - I've seen one generation old GM trucks (like 2015+ body style) with rocker rust so bad it has through holes. Out of state or not that 's crazy. My 2007 Ram has the typical rear fender rust going a bit, bit it didn't start until it was 10+ years old.
  8. I don't have specifics, but my boss had an older one like 2007-2010ish vintage that had a crazy ABS issue he chased for years. It's apparently pretty common and cost him quite a bit to finally resolve. He was having it serviced by Nissan for the duration of the issues, which made the saga all the more baffling to me.
  9. Did you read the article? That's a real bad article to link to prove your point lol.
  10. I'm seeing mixed messages in forecasting, but definitely potential to get dumped on. My 2wd truck is already struggling to get all the way up my driveway... great.
  11. I'm pretty tired of arguing with you about the same dumb shit, but this one is a little new. "There was no presented concrete evidence that something on a large scale was done to swing the election for Biden" - You were part of the crowd pointing to "evidence" for weeks if not months! Major WTF! What changed your mind lol? Other than your warm and fuzzies for the Dem lady who was on JRE, this might be the first time I've seen you waiver from the straight and narrow road of dumbassery. "Its almost like when hundreds of thousands of people destroy cities around the US for months on end wont change racial injustice" - OK, but what will then? What would you propose those people do instead that hasn't been tried already and been proven to fail? Sit at home, let time pass, and hope for the best? Also your claim of "hundreds of thousands" destroying anything isn't factual.
  12. Yeaaaa but.... Either you're not good at it, or it's a big 'ol stretch. Hint: it is, in fact, a big 'ol stretch.
  13. I thought I saw like 6 inches this coming weekend, appears that's maybe fizzled out at this point?
  14. Rail pressure alone shouldn't scare ya! Use quality fluids, quality filters (fuel filter especially), and ONLY buy diesel from "well traveled" stations. Also - don't beat on it cold, but I get the impression you've got some mechanical sympathy in you lol.
  15. Congrats on the purchase. This power train intrigues me, so I'll look forward to your thoughts in a year or so. My best friend has a Canyon with the 2.8 duramax that he's loved for the past couple years, and I go back and forth on whether I want another 3/4 ton Ram cummins or one of the 1/2 ton diesel offerings.
  16. I gotta tell ya, this thread has just worn me out. I start typing and I'm just like, naaaah, this won't matter at all.
  17. He got his own hand, he got his own cock, two buds jerk hard he a bad bruh
  18. I suppose what I'm saying is the extremes of either side are rarely ever the right camp to be in. You could substitute "truth" in my quote above instead with "correct side" or "reality" .Taken literally, sure there typically isn't "half truth".
  19. There are two sides to every story, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Everything in moderation. Etc.
  20. I'm struggling with understanding how removing the "imploder" (to use your terminology) isn't a victory today. I would agree a changing administrations doesn't solve all of the world's/country's/people's problems, but letting the perfect be the enemy of the good is a classic mistake to avoid. If you're waiting around for perfect, get good at waiting.
  21. Maybe consider not being shitty? Maybe leave some of that behind.
  22. C'mon man... The vaccine is not effective as soon as the second dose is administered, it's something like 30-60 days after if I recall, and it surely varies between which vaccine was used. The effectiveness of a vaccine (separate from the quality/design/makeup of the vaccine itself) is dependent on the quality of the patient's immune system. I feel confident in saying old folks in nursing homes are not typically at the apex of immune response. All that said, nobody's going to open up the doors on the old folks for visitation as soon as they're all vaccinated.
  23. This is all nonsense, just so there's no confusion.
