  1. One of our customers brought us his 2010 Camaro SS automatic a while back. The car started out with a simple custom tune and kind of progressed from there to a supercharged car with a P1SC Procharger. For a little background, we had done 2 other C6 Corvettes, a G8 GT, Tahoe, and an S10 for the owner of this car previously. The last Corvette we did for him we ended up using one of our custom ground cam setups in and he was so happy with how it sounded and ran that he wanted to do something similar with the Camaro while still keeping the supercharger setup. So the we ended up doing an afm/vct delete on the car and installed another one of our custom blower cams for the LS engines. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=1911&g2_serialNumber=2 We also tinted the windows, smoked the corner lenses, and blacked out all of the bowties on the car http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2425&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2431&g2_serialNumber=2 Exhaust is Dynatech longtubes with Corsa extreme axle backs http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2434&g2_serialNumber=2 The stock single bolt cam was replaced with an ls1 style 3 bolt custom grind http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6383&g2_serialNumber=2 New dual valve springs and hardened pushrods were also installed http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6389&g2_serialNumber=1 With everything else installed, ptv clearance was checked and the cam was degreed in http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6392&g2_serialNumber=1 The P1SC Procharger simply competed everything http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6398&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6404&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6413&g2_serialNumber=2 Procharger piping is typically done in gray. We had the piping redone in satin black to keep the silver/black theme going under the hood. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6407&g2_serialNumber=1 Power ended up being great. Better than we were anticipating! We still may raise boost a bit but for now, the car drives fantastic and has a nice little lope to it at idle! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6416&g2_serialNumber=2
  2. We got our hands on another 2012 5.0 today. This one in for a lowering kit, custom tune, and some rally stripes on the driver front fender. The car already looked pretty good stock but looks even better dropped! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6567&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6615&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6576&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6582&g2_serialNumber=2 The car also got a quick alignment so that the lowering kit wouldnt have any adverse affects on tire wear http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6570&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6573&g2_serialNumber=2 The flat black rally stripe and black 5.0 emblems finished everything off http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6585&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6591&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6588&g2_serialNumber=2 The car also hit the rollers for a custom tune. So far the only mods were an axle back exhaust. This is a 3.31 geared car with a stock airbox. We typically see 8-10 more hp at the tires from the 3.73 gear cars due to how they pull on our dyno. We did 3 base pulls with the stock calibration with each pull gaining power. The comparison is from the high pull from the stock tune vs our custom tune. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6563&g2_serialNumber=2 [/img]
  3. Thanks Doc! Good luck, have fun and be safe!
  4. Wow, sad to hear. My prayers go out to the family. It is easy for people to be insensitive to the situation and judge someone because they had problems but it is completely unfair for the wife or kids to have to go through something like this. Being a father of 2 I often feel guilty that I dont spend enough time with my kids. Both of them beamed with pride this morning as they brought in their homemade cards to give me this morning and both were excited that they had my attention for the entire day. I would be devastated if something ever happened to one of them and I know they would be devastated if something ever happened to me. Suicide is an ugly thing but you never know what someone is going through until you walk a mile in their shoes....My grandfather committed suicide when I was about 5 years old. To this day, my father has spoken to me about it one time and has made it very clear that was the only time he would ever discuss it. The pain, hurt, and emotions that the memories bring out are tough for him to deal with and thats not even mentioning how it has affected my extended family. From what I know about my grandfather, he had broken his back and was on pain medication that at the time was not very well regulated. He became hooked on it and if he was on it today, he would have been taking roughly 8x's the dosage that he should be at the time of his death. He wasnt in his right mind and the way he saw things every one was against him. He took the easy way out which was also the most selfish.... Now I dont know the guy the op is posting about and yeah the wife and children may be better off without him but not like this....Wnaplay, your concern and compassion is what the family needs and they will need alot of it. Kudos to you for your concern and for posting about it. I pray that you and your family will continue to be a blessing for these people in their time of need!
  5. Pretty much once the ecu is tuned warranty is done......Now if you find a mod friendly service advisor and can keep the Ford engineers out of it you would probably be fine but trust me, the engineers can tell if the pcm has been flashed whether you put it back to stock or not... Congrats on the new car btw!!
  6. We have been doing more and more Ecoboost trucks lately. These trucks are flat out impressive! They pick up nicely as well http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6489&g2_serialNumber=1 There were 3 calibration updates from Ford since this truck was originally manufactured. So before tuning, we went ahead and loaded the latest updates and did a few more pulls. The truck actually picked up pretty well with just the oem calibration updates. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6493&g2_serialNumber=1 From there we went straight into tuning. The truck picked up nicely across the board with gains of 63 lb/ft and 72 hp coming at 6k rpm! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6496&g2_serialNumber=1 The truck picked up roughly 42hp and 47 tq peak compared to the original calibration the truck came in with. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6499&g2_serialNumber=2
  7. Congrats on the new car. You will love it. Just be prepared for a clutch if you drive it hard....Especially if you raise the rev limiter above stock. Other than that it is a great platform.
  8. The car is getting close. I was out on vacation all last week, so Im just now getting back into the swing of things. The car is up and running. Gonna put some break in miles on the new clutch and then it will be ready for the dyno. The car hit the alignment rack today for a quick adjustment after having the k member dropped out with the motor. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6476&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6479&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6482&g2_serialNumber=2 The ac system was also recovered after the engine was reinstalled http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6485&g2_serialNumber=2
  9. Congrats. That car flat moves out!
  10. Exactly. I have the same experience with the setup on my car. So much of the performance has to do with placement on the shifters as well so a good installation placement is key. Ive seen some installations from high end car dealerships where the shifters are behind the grilles and they are pretty much worthless at that point. Ive also had some cars that we have done where I didnt really care for the placement but it was all that the car really offered for us to work with without making the setup stand our or look stupid. Every car is different but I have customers that have had us put these on every vehicle they own and swear by them. Having ran mine for the last 2 years, I now do as well.
  11. We havent ran into any legality issues with these. Of course, you cant use them in states that ban detectors, like virginia or d.c. Not sure about Valentine. We pretty much only do Escort and most of our sales are the custom installed units.
  12. Yeah, they are certainly not for everybody. I run the same setup in my 5.0 and the shifters work really well. The one thing about laser, if the detector is going off, you have already been hit. Most of the cars these get done on are 'higher end' cars and alot of that is probably due to the cost of the units but when you have a car like this, cost inst too much of an issue.
  13. The Live feature is not currently available with the custom installed units although Escort has told us they are working on it. While it is a cool feature, Im not convinced it is that big of a deal. They send out weekly updates and they are verified which would keeps the driver plenty protected. While the live setup would be nice, the better protection with the laser shifters, custom installation, and not having something hanging from the windshield is usually what makes people lean towards this type of setup.
  14. Thank you sir. This is the newest unit out. It has probably only been out a year or so. Ive never had a problem with one or had a customer report back any negative feedback. I think it goes back to 'if you act like an idiot, you get treated like one'...I run one of these in my 5.0 and it has saved me several times. Of course if you are doing 90 in a 35, thats a different story....
  15. This car was in the background of one of the pics in the SuperSnake thread so I thought I would go ahead and put some pics of it up as well. We finished it and it was picked up a few days ago. The car was brought to us for an Escort 9500ci custom installed radar detector. This is the second vehicle we have done for this particular customer with the same detector. For those that arent familiar with them, the 9500ci comes with a front mount radar reciever, 2 front mount laser shifters (shifters divert the laser signal from returning back to the gun), a rear mount laser shifter, a gps antenna, heads up display, color changing led for driving status, an audible speaker for giving alerts, a power/mute button, and a usb cable for updates. On top of telling you whether you are getting hit with radar and/or shifting laser signals, the 9500ci has a database of redlight and traffic camera's stored in it as well and uses gps to give you an alert as you are approaching them. The database is update able and Escort sends the owner email alerts as updates are available. The driver also has the ability to program in his own alerts as well as mark false alerts with the gps to prevent the unit from falsing in that same spot again. The units work really nice and are a nice clean install. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6284&g2_serialNumber=2 In the grill are mounted 2 laser shifters towards the bottom outside edges and a radar receiver is mounted in the middle area just behind the Ferrar emblem. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6288&g2_serialNumber=2 All the wiring is then brought up through the engine compartment following factory wiring harnesses http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6291&g2_serialNumber=2 With the factory panels back in place, you dont see a thing http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6300&g2_serialNumber=2 Wiring is then brought through the fenderwell to make its way inside the cabin of the car. The excess is neatly ziptied out of the way. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6297&g2_serialNumber=2 The rear laser shifter is usually mounted either above or below the rear license plate. On this particular car we went below as it was the area that would provide the best performance. Above would have been a little cleaner and more concealed but the shifter would have set under the ledge about 1/2" which would hurt the performance of the unit. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6309&g2_serialNumber=1 One of the challenges with this particular car is that it is a convertible hard top. The trunk not only tilts up like a normal car but it also tilts rearward to allow the removable hard top to retract into it. All of this had to be taken into consideration during wiring in order to allow the rear shifter to function properly without any wires getting pinched or damaged through normal use. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6315&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6321&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6327&g2_serialNumber=2 The heads up display fit nicely below the climate controls http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6330&g2_serialNumber=2 A color changing led was mounted easily in the drivers field of view to give the driver a constant status update. Green simply means no signals are being received. The led will instantly change to red and an audible alert is given if a signal is received. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6333&g2_serialNumber=2 The power/mute button was mounted just under the center armrest. It is in a very comfortable position for the driver to be able to mute the unit if needed. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6336&g2_serialNumber=2 Once everything was completed, the car was parked inside awaiting pickup and for the weather to clear. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6366&g2_serialNumber=2 On top of carrying/installing the Escort 9500ci units, we also carry the full lineup from Escort. Thanks for looking! Brady
  16. The car hasnt been on the dyno yet. It is probably a week or so out from being completed. We expect to see a 50-75hp gain from the cams. The car previously made around 690 to the wheels iirc.
  17. The SuperSnake's are sent to shelby for an upgrade package. Most get either a 2.8 Kenne Bell or 3.4 Whipple blower, a new hood, different stripe package, carbon fiber ground effects, 1 piece driveshaft, upgraded baer brakes all the way around, and a few other minor things. We dont publish our custom specs. They are huge though compared to stock. On most of our custom cams, we give the customer the specs and let them decide if they want to publish the specs or not. Most do not. The SuperSnakes are generally a little over $100k when it is all said and done 2012 Ferrari California Im not sure if the Kenne Bell versions come with the bap or not. We have done a few with both the KB and Whipple blowers. The whipple versions do not come with a pump upgrade and I simply cant remember on the KB version. The 750hp package shelby sells is pretty lame. Most of the cars lay down around 600-620 at the tires and a simple tune only will net right at 700 to the tires give or take. IPS did a silver one a while back and then Power by the Hour,L&M Engines, and Revan Racing teamed up on that same car and did a new motor, larger blower, and a few other goodies for the car and set the standing mile record for a SuperSnake at the texas mile last october. The same guys then turned around and went even faster this spring with one.
  18. Yeah, we just recently tinted it as well. The pic of the car is actually from last year some time. The other pics are recent.
  19. Just wanted to let everyone know that we are now the Kenne Bell authorized dealer/installer for the central Ohio area. We have been tuning several KB cars lately, all making great power and we are proud to now be able to offer them in the shop! They make some nice looking kits as well! http://kennebell.net/KBWebsite/Tech_Info_pg/links/SuperSnake2.jpg http://kennebell.net/KBWebsite/SC_pg/Mustang%205.0%20(2011)/links/newmus2.jpg http://kennebell.net/KBWebsite/SC_pg/Camaro/links/Camaro_Intro.jpg http://kennebell.net/KBWebsite/SC_pg/Dodge/links/pressrelease.jpg
  20. I think I probably posted about this car the first time around. Anyway, this car is back for round 2 of mods which includes a new twin disc clutch, our custom cam upgrade, and all of the plastic body paneling on the outside of the car is getting replaced with real carbon fiber pieces from TruCarbon. It will probably be a week or so before the car is 100% complete but thought I would share some pics in the meantime. The first thing to do was drop the engine/trans out to begin making way for the cams and the new clutch install. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6215&g2_serialNumber=1 Stock valve springs http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6221&g2_serialNumber=1 New valve springs after being measured and shimmed http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6224&g2_serialNumber=1 One of the new custom cams (on the right) vs the stock unit http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6230&g2_serialNumber=1 Custom cams drop back in and timed http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6233&g2_serialNumber=1 Since we were in this far, we went ahead and upgraded the oil pump gears with a set of billet ones http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6218&g2_serialNumber=1 For the clutch we went with a Mcleod RXT twin disc. The clutches have good holding capacity and a very light pedal which makes it great for street use http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6212&g2_serialNumber=1 And a pic of the car http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2518&g2_serialNumber=2
  21. Nice meeting you as well. You have a nice looking car! On this particular car, we set it up to where we knew it would last and be reliable for the long haul even when abused. On the Ecoboost truck motors, I simply have not had the time to really push ours hard yet. It has only been on the dyno for one tuning session and at this point, Im booking out through late June/early July already, so it will probably be a while before I reallly push ours too hard. We have done a few trucks with our our 60hp tune and all have reported back very pleased. As I can dedicate time to r&d we will certainly push a bit harder but I have to balance it with the incoming workload as well.
  22. We would most likely have to order them in. It is not a real popular item for us.
  23. Yeah, I have some. I just need to find some time to get them edited so they can be posted on youtube. We have been absolutely hammered since late January and it hasnt let up at all.
