The new cat back actually uses an x-pipe to merge the 2 banks. Under the hood is pretty tight. Boost was dramatically smoothed out compared to stock. I really didnt raise boost much to get the the power mainly smoothed boost out and then the focus was on some of the other areas where there is some power hidden. More power could be made with raising boost but on this file you could beat the living daylights out of the car and really not have to worry about it.

One of our out of state customers recently brought his L99 Camaro SS in for us to add a supercharger to it. He dropped it off on a thursday and picked it up on saturday. We added a Magnacharger 2300 TVS supercharger, fit an Airraid cai, and did a quick custom tune. On his drive back to Kentucky he called us and said he was averaging 24.5 mpg with the blower and tune!! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5926&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5938&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5941&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5950&g2_serialNumber=2 The dyno numbers are with an Airriad cai. Unfortunately I didnt get any pictures of the setup with the cai on it.... http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5983&g2_serialNumber=2

Lol. No problem man. Ive done the same before. I typically wont post a graph without the stock numbers on it unless we dont have them for some reason.

Its on the dyno graph at the bottom of the first post.

A customer of ours recently dropped off his 2010 SHO for a little bit of performance work. He wanted a little more power, better shifting, and a little more aggressive exhaust tone. So we added an Airraid cai, Corsa cat back system, and custom tune. The car went from a nice cruising car to a car you could really enjoy to drive! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6061&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6054&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6073&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6076&g2_serialNumber=2 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6092&g2_serialNumber=2

Grass is always greener on the other side man...lol I love my job and getting to do what I enjoy. I get alot of credit for things that come out of the shop simply because I am probably the most visible one of us and the only one that really gets involved with forums when in reality there are several of us that make it happen. I handle all of our tuning side of things but really everyone from our sales staff to our tech team is what gives me the ability to do what I do and gives us the ability to work on some of the projects we get to work on.

My insurance agent has an ecoboost truck that he tows a ton with and he says the exact same thing. It is a great engine for towing mainly because tq comes on so early and really never falls off.
-
Yeah, I should have said commercially available custom tuning solution. Bullydog also has a programmer available for the Ecoboost. If I was choosing an off the shelf unit, I would pick a superchips over bully dog any day of the week. The big advantage we have is that we can custom tailor a tune or make changes if need be where the off the shelf stuff is what it is.
-
Its our own setup and we have a company that is making us a flash device for the ecoboost. It holds the stock file as well as our tune. There currently are not any commercial tuning packages available for the ecoboost platform to my knowlege.
-
Typically you would see a little mpg gain. We are going to drive the truck for a few weeks on this file and monitor it.
-
I personally havent towed with it yet. Kyle drives it mostly and he has towed a few times. He says it does great. We have a SuperSnake scheduled for some work that requires a pickup in our enclosed car hauler. We typically use our Duramax for those but I may just hook up the ecoboost and go with it. It is an impressive truck. The torque comes on really nice and hard when you first push into it and the truck doesnt stop pulling all the way to the shift. Stock you can feel power round over before the shift. Hopefully I can get my schedule cleared in the next 2 weeks to get back on it. Im exited to see how far we can push it. For now, I am very comfortable with the tune file the way it is in terms of being able to put into a vehicle and have customer beat on it and knowing that there isnt going to be any issues.

Thought I would go ahead and share some of our Ecoboost F150 tuning results. I really have not had much time at all to spend with the truck due to time constraints on other projects but we are pretty pleased so far with the results. There is still plenty of r&d left to do on this platform and I anticipate much larger gains in the near future. For now ,with only a few hours of dyno time, we are pretty happy with the results. On what I would consider a conservative tune, the truck picked up 56 lb/ft @ 3300 rpm and 37 hp @ 5650. Hopefully in a few weeks I will be able to get back on it and push it further. Until then we are simply going to drive it, beat on it, log it and monitor everything for the next few weeks. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6026&g2_serialNumber=2 And of course, being a shop owned truck, a burnout is mandatory.... http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6027&g2_serialNumber=1

Hey James, Give Kyle or Justin a call at the shop here (740-549-2828) and one of them will be happy to get you a quote and get you scheduled. Im not sure what pricing runs on that and I have been tied up on the dyno for most of the day. Brady

It was right at 300hp and 330tq iirc. Id have to pull the graph for the exacts but I know it was right in that range. That was with the stock wheels and tires, so that will change slightly with the new larger ones. Ill do some more baselines with the larger wheels when we get ready to do some more testing and Ill put those graphs up once I have them.
-
Thank you sir. I appreciate it!

A few weeks ago we picked up a new 2012 Ecoboost F150. We hit the dyno with it last week to get some baseline numbers on the truck. Lets just say not only is the power output of these trucks very impressive, but so is how the truck manages to make that power....Over the next few weeks we plan to do some r&d with it and Ill be sure to post the complete results once they are ready. For now here are a few pics of the truck. The first thing we did was install a lift/level kit on the truck. Basically it raised the front 2.5" and the rear 1" http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6016&g2_serialNumber=2 The wheels are 20" KMC Monster's wrapped in 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6020&g2_serialNumber=2 And, getting a quick alignment after the lift/level and wheel install. Yeah, we do that too.... http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6023&g2_serialNumber=2

I am uploading a video right now that has the idle and dyno pull but does not have the dyno chart attached. That way we can keep within the customers wishes. As soon as it is uploaded, Ill post it. For those that want to see numbers, I have a set of cams being done for a Supersnake with a 3.4 Whipple that I will post numbers on as well as vids and I should have some on a 3V using our custom cams with an F1a Procharger hopefully by the end of the week depending on how the week plays out.
-
Yeah, I just pulled the videos and dyno charts down at the customers request. We always ask the customer before using any pics or videos from their builds and we were given permission originally. Once they were posted he asked if we could pull the dyno charts down, which we were more than happy to do for him. He simply stated he didnt want people knowing how much power his car made and I can respect that. I pulled the videos since they had the charts in them as well. I may go back up and edit the video later just without the chart. Im not really sure. Do that and its a million people complaining that there is no graph... The roll bar was a bolt in from RPM Roll bars. It fit nicely and fit his needs. The car primarily is a street car but will probably see mid-ohio a few times a year.

The GT500's are pretty strong. 775-800 at the tires is not out of the question on a stock block. Much above that I would probably recommend a built shortblock. The key to making one live on the stock bottom end is keeping detonation away 100%. The stock rods wont take much detonation at all before the split.

Here is a an updated video of this car with a walk behind idle clip. This thing sounds AWESOME sitting!! I could literally listen to this thing all day long. http://youtu.be/Hbx3tdJU_Wo?hd=1

I would say that is possible but at this point I think the big thing holding it back is the iat's. I havent seen much on any modular motor that we have done to convince me that longtube headers are worth the effort. I can give you plenty of GT500 examples where we have made the same power through the stock manifolds as we have with headers. I think the same goes for this car. This car really should make power to 7k rpm with the cams that are in it. On pump gas, the iats get hot enough towards the end of the run that we have to start softening the timing curve and it rounds over a bit early. With race fuel we could leave the timing in a bit further but on pump, better safe than sorry. I think once we get the iats cooled down a bit it will pick up another 20-30 up top. He may eventually throw headers on it as well.

We may have bought one as a shop truck......And it just may be getting some attention in the next few weeks......

Thought I would share some pics of one of our customers brand new 6.2L F150's. We did a GT500 for him a few years ago that he still has and when he went and purchased the new truck, the first thing he did was call and put a supercharger on order for it. Whipple finally released the blowers a few months ago and we immediately went to work. http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6000&g2_serialNumber=1 The truck also got a set of ceramic coated Kooks headers http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5994&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6003&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6006&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5987&g2_serialNumber=1
