Honda service news: VTEC Engine Hesitates During Acceleration NOTE: This article applies to ’94–02 Accords with VTEC, ’92–02 Civics with VTEC, ’93–01 Preludes with VTEC, ’00–02 S2000s, ’00–02 Insights, and ’99–02 Odysseys. If your customer complains that the engine hesitates briefly when accelerating, chances are the ECM/PCM is ordering fuel cutoff because of low or delayed engine oil pressure to the VTEC system. Typical causes for low or delayed oil pressure are low oil level, a dented oil pan that’s touching the oil pickup screen, or some other oil flow restriction. When the throttle opening, vehicle speed, engine coolant temperature, and engine speed indicate that VTEC is needed, the ECM/PCM turns on the VTEC solenoid valve. Oil pressure should immediately turn off the VTEC oil pressure switch. But if the switch stays on (because of low oil pressure), the ECM/PCM orders fuel cutoff and shuts off all the fuel injectors. Normally the ECM/PCM turns on the MIL and sets DTC P1259 (VTEC system malfunction). But if the oil pressure switch turns off before the ECM/PCM sets the DTC, the engine hesitates and then runs normally. To fix this engine hesitation, troubleshoot the oil level or oil supply problem.

1st there could be a PCM update to correct the issue, take it to a dealer and have it checked, if the car has the latest software then check for vacuum leaks, possible intake gasket leak since those are the most common issues on that car with those code. If he has access to a decent OBD scan tool watch the o2 activity 1 or more may have a problem(bad o2 sensors can cause a CAT to fail)

just an FYI sports card memorabilia took a HUGE hit along with comic books, so all those rare cards, comics from the late 70's to 90's aren't worth much if anything at all with the exception of certain rookie cards, everything else is just worthless. A late night video (here) shows police destroying forensic evidence when they handle and eject rounds from a loaded firearm located inside the trunk of a car that was presumably driven to the scene by murder suspect, Adam Lanza. If the AR-15 remained in the car, as reported by federal and State authorities, it could not have been used as the murder weapon. If the firearm found in the car was not a Bushmaster AR-15 we must consider that this assault rifle, allegedly owned by Lanza’s mother, was never at the crime scene. If .223 bullet casings were found in the school how did authorities know for sure they were fired from a Bushmaster AR-15 if the gun discovered in the trunk was a shotgun or something else? How is it possible that a firearm, not matching the AR-15 description, was found in the car trunk hours after authorities had already confirmed they found a Bushmaster AR-15 in the car.? If .223 shells were found at the scene is it possible that a yet unnamed suspect could have been firing an assault weapon inside the school? Dealers should not alter the dynamic balance of any wheel unless a customer describes experiencing a tire/wheel vibration condition. DESCRIPTION: A customer may describe a steering wheel vibration or "shimmy" condition in the vehicle. Sources of vibration/shimmy may be from the following conditions: 1. Wheel and tire assembly out of balance 2. Wheel out of round 3. Tire assembly stiffness variation (Radial Force Variation or RFV) RFV (Radial Force Variation) may be defined as the amount of change in stiffness of the sidewall and footprint when a load is placed against a tire. Wheel and tire assembly imbalance should be addressed first because it is the most common cause of vibration.
