  1. Hmm... the clock is ticking down, and of all things to pop into my head, when 107.9 up in Cleveland switched from top 40 to rock/alternative format (is there really that much difference?) after being bought out, they played REM's "End of the World" on a loop for over a day straight...

That’s a stored memory I didn’t know existed! Can vividly remember that like it was yesterday. Had to have been 15 years ago

  2. I passed on an '04 911 Turbo Cab, X50 6-speed triple-black for $38k with just under 100k miles last year during COVID...

    Ragerts.

I still want to put my bits in a vice, from passing on a built 930 for 30k roughly 7-8 years ago.

Since I’ve watched them continue to creep, thinking the market will eventually flop…….

Now you can’t buy anything, unless you’re willing to pay silly prices. I bought a new motorcycle 2 months ago, that I can sell for more than was paid from the dealer.

    I hate it here!

  3. Sounds awesome. Im jealous.

If it makes you feel any better, it doesn't have A/C.

It was sold as being "ice cold air" Well, the condenser and half of the lines are missing... I sourced parts from a US Disco, as the part numbers appeared the same. Everything is different, and I gave up trying to find everything from the UK. Going to be a toasty summer, that's for sure!

  4. Who was your builder that kept upping the price? we were told once we sign the number wont change with Wayne homes.

Fully custom home. Mix of concrete, steel, and wood. Oddball modern structure and they only use "sustainable" materials.... They were having issues sourcing for current builds, which kept moving back our date obviously. Pricing on things have skyrocketed. They gave our deposit back, without any fuss. But we now have $5,000ish worth of blueprints that may never be used though :fuuuu:

  5. its amazing to me that people are buying at these prices. Its like they think this is going to last....

Pure insanity. We sold to build, and the date keeps being pushed. Pricing climbs higher. Just bailed.

Content with renting at the moment, as it will all collapse soon enough!

This time around, I'm buying a ton of property.

  6. The majority of police departments do need some major overhauls. But, were getting to the point of crazy.

Have a gun or knife, and using it on other people. Some of these crazies expect the police to just keep asking nicely till the suspect drops the weapon, finishes stabbing or shooting someone. Insanity

  7. In about 96 when I started driving back in my home of Marietta Ohio we had lifted trucks, lights, etc and got harassed by the cops all the time and got warnings, tickets for bumper height, uncovered off-road lights etc.

They seemed to stop the harassment after 2000 and now I see those stupid Carolina squat trucks running all over with way to many lights turned on and 40" front bumpers heights rolling coal while the rear is dragging the ground. Stupidest shit ever. Maybe it's just cause I'm in the south.

Ugh, I see a solid 5 of these daily.

Massive chrome wheels, tiny ass tires, rear bumper almost touching the ground, and multiple antennas that are 10 feet long. Common trend on all of them.

    Heinous

    This...in so many words.

    It is?

So you can't show where it's illegal to modify a vehicle in any way?

Lights, height, anything emissions related, non dot tires, etc.

Not saying I agree with it, pointing out people will still do it. Look how strict California is, and the car scene is massive

  9. Show me the law that says I can't install a cold air intake

    Depends what state.

Regardless, people will still do it.

We’re getting near the end of ICE vehicles, all of this was bound to eventually happen.

Sucks, but there are more important things to worry about

  10. An unpopular opinion but, I honestly don't feel bad for the diesel tuning industry in the slightest. For the longest time they were really reckless and it lead to this "rolling coal" bro culture that is just bad for everybody.

I don't think diesel tuning will stop - if there is money to be made then it will find a way to be made, but hopefully this approach from the EPA will force the diesel tuning industry to innovate in the emissions equipment area and be more responsible about it rather than just churning out more shitty bro-dozers. I mean it worked for the OEM's so why not the aftermarket?

    Yep.

They probably have been getting endless complaints for years. Solid 50% of diesel trucks I’m behind reek, and are rolling coal. I live in a downtown, and multiple times each hour I will hear the lame as hell crackle tunes. Sprinkle in a Mustang or two with long tubes, and riding around at 5k RPM.

  11. No, this is not a headline grab. I work in the industry and the EPA is actively working towards enforcing what's written and expanding the scope based on the vague language.

But what do I know I guess...

I mean, it's been illegal for ages. Now it's finally being enforced.

    Is what it is.

  12. Meh

How many people do you know running catless? It's Illegal, and shops can be fined. Yet I can walk into any performance shop locally, and have this done. No questions asked.

It's already illegal, and now it looks like they might start enforcing it more. There's zero chances, that they would be inspecting shops long term. They don't have the man power. This is just a head line grab.

  13. It’s the same way here in Charlotte.

Months before any Covid news, I started planning on listing my home and starting a custom home build. When it was time to list, Covid happened and the stock market crashed. I was having 08 flashbacks.

My realtor had a ton of rentals on Air BnB which grounded to a halt. Listed my home, sold within days. Made money, and only paid 2% in commissions. People were panicking. I was happy.

Fast forwarded months later, and pricing has jumped even higher. Homes are selling same day, over asking, and buyers paying closing. It’s madness.

Used car prices are through the roof, and selling as soon as they are listed.

I don’t see this slowing down anytime soon, unless the whole market tumbles.

  14. This is what I get for not staying disciplined. Bit of uncharted waters for me, given the circumstances.

Luckily, made some heavy moves when it dipped hard today and sold almost at today's peak.

Still carrying a fair bit though....

  15. Robinhood stopping people from closing accounts and cashing out

Really? They are what caused the shit show on Thursday, and limited to 5 shares yesterday. If it wasn’t for that, it would have jumped. Lots of fuckery

I was roughly -112k Thursday, and went in harder yesterday at the dip. Not going to be sleeping peacefully this weekend.
