  1. You can drive it home today playa! Just like the c6z, everything has a price :)

c5/c6 really is a performance bargain in general. Really, I think a HIC c6z is the top of that mountain, morso that a Zr1

Yes, has a bump in carfax. The roof is PAINTED! What a savage. I almost think I would prefer it silver at that true coupe roof IMO is what sets this car apart. Clean examples with these miles fetch 16-18k but most boomers are asking well north of 20k

IDK, but I like em' :)

You have the SAME car nerd! LOL.

This is just to scratch the itch for now, and I could not pass up the deal.

This will be car 1 of 2. On the hunt for #2.

At this point, the order of interest has changed. Right now, Im GTR, 911, R8. Several reasons for it, but that's where Im at.

If you end up with any of those three, don’t buy the most clapped out example.

  2. My vote is for the gtr. Audi’s, mustangs, bmws, corvettes. They are all common. Roll up next to one at a stoplight and there’s no knowing if it’s a 200hp 16 second rebadged a4, 6 pot mustang, or base c6 driven by a 70 year old geriatric. You see them everywhere. I don’t think the R8 will be fast enough for you.

Gtrs are rare. If you look it up, you’ll be shocked at how few have been sold. Roll up next to one at a stoplight and there’s no denying you’re going to get raped unless you’re in something special. The car still gets more attention than I’m comfortable with. Look up the website speed by design. The owner Chris Riggs is a good guy. You can get turbos and supporting mods to take a gtr up over 800-900 hp for a fraction of the cost of other companies.

Great guy. He helped me with mine, very early on and cannot sing enough praise.

R8 and the earlier Gallardo are fairy reliable, and still look good (IMO) but leave a lot to be desired from a driving perspective if you have seat time in anything comparable, that’s newer. Which is obvious, but they don’t have the charm and cache of something old like say a 930.

If you find the right GTR, you’re not going to lose much if anything.

If you throw deprecation out of the window, the new Evora are a seriously potent car for the money.

  3. I’ve never been a fan of corvettes from a visual standpoint, but the C8 looks killer.

Haven’t been this hyped on a new launch since the 4c was announced, and instantly left a deposit for that. Strongly considering leaving one for the C8!

  4. 15ish years ago, I was in high school and just around the age of being able to get my license. My friends cousin was into cars, and he invited us to the watch his car at the DSM shootout. I didn’t have a single clue what a Dsm was, or have much interest in cars prior. After that event, I was hooked.

His cousin owned a shop, where people would occasionally meet and race. (Industrial park) The majority of cars that were there probably ran 13-14s, and there was a Mustang that was beating everyone and the owner was extremely cocky. My friends cousin called him out, with a piece of shit turbo probe he randomly had sitting around. It beat the Mustang, and I offered to buy it a week later. Still didn’t have my license, and no idea how to drive a manual, but it was mine. I think it was $900.

Since I’ve probably owned 150+ vehicles, everything from DSM to exotic junk. Not much interest in cars these days, as I hate the attention stuff I would purchase brings. I’m not far from some of the best roads in NC, paved and unpaved. My interest is with bikes these days, more enjoyable IMO and you can have a fleet of new bikes for not much when compared to cars.

  5. Absolutely loved my day job, almost couldn’t have asked for a better gig. I worked alone, had no one to answer to on a daily basis, and the nearest other employee was multiple states away. Month + vaca, etc.

Enjoyed that for nearly 8 years, till I was offered a relocation out of state. Turned it down, sold off some businesses I had large stakes in and decided I could pack it in. Been enjoying retirement for nearly 8 months. This happened right at the start of summer, so I took the whole summer to travel with my girlfriend. Extremely fortunate

Going to do the same shortly, but on a motorcycle from May-Aug. it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, seems like the perfect time.

  6. I live in Charlotte, but need to pick something up in the Columbus area shortly. I would be willing to take this, vs flying if someone wanted it. I have zero use for it at this point, and have far too many vehicles sitting around. Figured someone here might want a rust free truck, granted it’s 2wd..

    2001 Dodge Ram 1500

    - Only 52,358 Miles

    - Reliable and fuel efficient V6

    - Manual transmission

    - Crank windows

    - New tires

    - Pioneer radio

    - Rhino lined bed

-Rust free frame and body. Always a southern vehicle.

    - Orginal owners manual

This was purchased from the original owner, who just had a new clutch installed. Directly after having it installed, it's been difficult getting into second gear without grinding. It needs an adjustment somewhere, but should be a simple fix. If you press the clutch pedal all the way to the floor firmly, getting into second gear isn't an issue below 10mph. The truck can still be driven, and is still nice and tight as it has such low mileage.

Extremely low miles, in work truck trim. Essentially impossible to find these days. This would make someone a wonderful work truck, for a very long time. Always a non smokers vehicle. Plastic dash surround has a few cracks from the heat, which is common on these. The paint isn’t showroom new, it has scratches.

    $4,500

  7. People cannot even drive, without being distracted by a phone and almost killing people on a daily basis. Sit at a restaurant and just people watch, it's rare to see anyone fully engaged in a real convo. Families with children all buried in electronic devices, none of them talking to each other.

There's no easy solution for this madness, but starting with shitty parenting is a good step. Everyone is so disconnected, and constantly looking to blame someone for some issue in their life. Society of humans who can no longer manage simple life stresses. Next would be the gun crazy knuckle dragging parents.

Just over the weekend, a student at my girlfriends school was posting online with an AR and other students sending out group messages about possibly "doing something" None of this made any media, and similar things happen on the regular. None of this ever leaks out...... You wonder how many events could possibly be avoided, but you have to handle everything with velvet gloves these days..

  8. Not if you have portfolio lending options. ;)

Do it, especially considering the upside and "unlimited ceiling" of real estate. You already have your foot int he door, may as well be knee deep. I do mortgage financing for several investors that have made similar jumps- not one of them regrets it. One now has a portfolio of over 200 properties and is 34 yrs old. 100% self made.

Another started a management company. Got to about 800 properties under his care, THEN got his license. I helped him market to his tenants to make sure anyone making the jump to being an owner went though him (he was previously missing most of this business). Not we see 2-3 closed units each and every month JUST off what he services. Its genius.

    Pretty much this.

You already know the market, risks, etc. Just take the dive, and never look back. As stated healthcare will be a pricey line item, but I'm sure you can easily make that work.

If I ever decide to sell my business, and cash out I will be throwing a massive chunk at this exact same strategy.

Exit hell, you will feel like a new person.

  9. He listed it for 27k ONLY on an FB group. Basically zero exposure. One week later dropped to 23k. Terrible listing is the only reason it didn't sell at 27k, but the sharks where in the water at that point. I came in under ;) He is a mom-n-dad motorsports kid and I knew the backstory.

Cliffs- he had a 100k+ Z06 build- talked shit to all the locals while it was being built. Gets a bad rep pretty quickly. Car gets finished- car blows up- Dad pays for new engine- that goes public- kid gets shamed- kid runs from cops in a different car-gets arrested- looses license fro 3 years. Kid SELLS 100k build Vette-dad takes a bath- he gets cash and THIS CAR which he cant legally drive (LOL). Vette gets parked. Few months later, Sherrif comes a knock'n. Kid needs cash ASAP. ZipTie racing closes the deal. ;)

Those are the best kinda deals.
